Hello everyone,I'm a desperate woman suffering from excessive lint/dust with my laundry as the title suggest and here is the story in short hoping i'd get some help. I've basically been doing laundry all my life. Since early teenage years, it was my responsibility so one could say i know how to do laundry. When my boyfriend and i moved in together, we had a complete empty flat "a brand new one, we were the first tenants". The first hing we've purchased were the essentials, fridge, an LG washing machine, and a bed. this is when the nightmare started, i would see (purplish color) lint on the corners of the floor. Initially i thought this was from the central Air condit…

Currently renting a unit and noticed clothes sometimes smelled out of the washer. Peeled back the door seal and can see that the holes don't align (see pic attached). Are the holes in the seal supposed to align with the holes in the solid plastic in front of it? Also are those black dots mold?

Hi I've been plagued with the dreaded E18 fault on and off for a while on my Bosch. I drain it down and pull the filter out and sometimes theres slivers of loose limescale in there and removing them fixes it. Other times I've just turned it off and back onto a short cycle and it has drained OK. This time I had a really good look with the filter out and there was a load of hair behind the spinny thing in there so got all that out with needlenose pliers. Thinking that this time I'd cracked it and given my machine a new lease of life, especially after the first wash drained away without any problems, wash no.2 brought up the same error code. I drained it and must have …

Good afternoon, I have a AEG 8000 Lavamat Model: L8FEE965R Prod No. 914550649/00. About a month ago, the display started showing error code E91. I tried the resets etc, to no avail. Then the machine started to make the switch off chime at different times during the wash, even though the wash was still occurring as normal. Then the display would go blank with the switch off chime and the display would turn on and off intermittently. Now, if I turn the machine on at the plug and press the on button, it will not turn on. I will leave it, and within 10 mins or so, the start up chime will chirp. In that time, I have to run to the machine, select a program a…

Hi all, I am having issues with my Miele wt945. There is no water going into the drum. I can hear and see water going into the detergent dispenser drawer and can also hear the water being constantly being drained/pumped out. I have cleaned out the filters (fluff filters, water filters)and even fitted a new triple inlet valve, also checked the water in and drain hose -which are both clean and good. If I put on a rinse or wash cycle i get the flashing red light for the "Water inlet/drain indicator".. but can hear (see if I open the drawer) the water going into the drawer but instantly being pumped out the drain hose - seems like it is bypassing the drum. On any cycle r…

Hi there, we have a relatively new machine that we bought in mid November last year. The washing machine started making constant strange noise during a cycle. The video is attached. We're not sure what could cause this? Would anyone have any pointers of what this is and how this can be fixed? Thanks in advance. 20250626_202702_1_1.mp4

OK so this is a weird one. I've watched lots of videos explaining how to replace brushes on a Beko machine and none of them featured thick plastic being pulled out the motor or being stuck to brushes. So I'm thinking it's protective plastic covering the commutator that should have been removed during manufacturing? It was causing a grinding noise. It was not originally tripping the power. It's only doing that since removing the plastic. Pics included. Anyway, although there's no more bits being released onto the floor under the machine and I've removed most if not all the plastic and the machine doesnt make any grinding noises anymore the machi…

Hi, sorry for the long backstory, thought it would be best to add the full information. I have an Indesit xwd71452 xkuk My other half recently overfilled our washer and a sock managed to somehow bypass the drum seal and wedge itself between the drum and the water inlet pipe. Chaos ensued as the water backed up rapidly and started to pour out of the powder drawer. Once i had removed the offending item and started a new wash a h20 error occured about a minute into the cycle. The pre-wash was filling correctly but no water was entering for the main wash, apart comes the machine again and on checking the inlet valve solenoid was showing an open circ…

Hi, We have a Bosch WDU28560GB washer/dryer and I noticed that it wasn't drying very well and what I assume to be the fan constantly runs for hours post drying cycle. The same thing happens if on a hot wash, there sounds like there is a motor running. But the door opens. It doesn't happen on a 15/20 min 40 degrees wash. Any ideas what the issue could be? I did the usual of checking for blockages in the drainage pipe etc. no issue there.

I bought this new in 2018 for £1269 and it has been faultless except after we moved house. As soon as we used the drying function after moving house (professional removers) it started drying ok and then after a few minutes it starts an ever increasing noise, not grating, but as if something was struggling. As it is a heat pump dryer, I wondered whether it could be the heat pump ? I don't know if the movement during moving house could be a contributing factor - I think so - but why ? I'm tempted to get the AEG repair people out but that is £200+ and though you cannot get a top of the line model for £500, you can get a 10kg+ washer dryer with a 5 year wa…

This is a Hotpoint NSWM 743U. In mid-cycle yesterday it made an odd noise and the drum stopped turning, although I could hear the motor running. I took the back off and the belt had fallen off. Replaced this no problem, but the white object in the pics was loose at the bottom of the machine. Googling turns up nothing. What is this part for?

My washer dryer has stopped working completely – no lights on the front panel, no switches work. I called my local appliance repairer who assessed the situation as one of the three circuit boards was not working. However he felt unable to proceed with the repair without knowing which of the circuit boards had failed, and what had caused the failure. On that basis he felt the cost of repair would be more than the machine is worth. The machine is only just two years old – plugs, sockets, fuses etc all fine.

Hi, I was hoping someone could help us. We’re having an absolute nightmare with our washing machine. Some of our clothes are coming out with dark spots and larger stained areas (brown, sometimes look almost black and sometimes a bit orange – obviously some of this depends on the colour of clothing) on that are impossible to wash out. My first instincts, like yours most likely will be, are that it’s something we’re doing but I have ruled pretty much everything out. It all started with our previous Samsung machine and we actually had Samsung in to look at the machine and they couldn’t see much but replaced the drum. We found it still carried on doing it and unfort…

Hello, My first time here and I wonder if someone can help me? I have a Whirlpool AWE compact top loader and it stopped spinning. I found the drive belt on the floor when I moved the machine. I removed the side panel and replaced the drive belt, but when I manually rotate the large drive wheel, I cannot complete even one rotation without the belt snapping off the rim. There seems no way of keeping it in place (no raised edges to the large drive wheel for example. What am I doing wrong? Please help me!! I need my washing machine back... Many thanks in advance. Sarah.

We have recently purchased a new Hoover washer, as our old one began to stop after 1-2 minutes into starting a cycle. The new one we have now had delivered was not working and when Hoover came out, they confirmed it to be a faulty pressure switch fitted at the factory (was only manufactured in March 2025), which he replaced and sorted. I have started a wash for the first time and the same issue is occurring as the old one - it fills with some water in the usual manner and then again, stops 1-2 minutes in and just goes blank. (exactly like the old one). The socket has been checked and no issues and we have tried it in an alternative socket. I wonder if it could be …

My drum just stopped rotating on my 6 year old Bosch 7KG series 4 intergrated WKD28352GB WASHER DRYER. All items check good: Water in fine Water out fine Filter clean Door works fine Drum moves freely by hand So is all I get for my money 6 years of use for a very expensive machine? Zero noise in a cycle suggesting the motor is not turning.

Hello! I have a combi washer WD90N643OAW from Samsung thats giving me a headache! Started with the first time the issue came, i bought a new PCB board and boom it started spinning again.. That lasted for about 3 weeks, then a motor error code came, bought a motor, swapped it but no dice. Still won´t start spinning. entered service mode and checked, EC2 code came in really quick. Took out both boards, Main bord flashing , but pcb board flashes green faster, so i guess something is wrong somewhere. But weird if the new board got killed within 3 weeks of running normal. I have taken out both boards, even swapped PCB back to the old one just to che…

I noticed water beneath my Miele WWI660. After pulling the machine out slightly, I couldn’t find any water behind it, and all the hoses appeared dry. While cleaning the filter, I discovered a couple of springs lodged inside. Once again, I noticed water pooling, seemingly toward the centre of the machine. To confirm it was coming from the appliance, I placed a paper towel underneath. From the way the towel became wet, it seems the leak originates from the drainage pump area. I plan to pull the machine out again to locate the source of the issue. Could anyone provide assistance or guidance? Could it be caused by a faulty hose connection to the drainage pump? Or po…

I'm new to the forum and I'm trying to help my daughter get her LG Tromm washing working again. It's a front loader model WM2277HW. It can start but only runs for less than a minute and then it codes but the code doesn't make sense, I added the picture of the code below. So far my grandson has replaced the rotor position sensor but still isn't running. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Morning all, Our Ikea integrated washing machine was making a knocking noise when the drum was turning. On removing the back, I've discovered that it's the pulley knocking against the back of the drum. It's almost as if the bot isn't tight, so it's not keeping the pulley hard up against where it's met the drum. I removed the bolt, and and looked at the pulley, nothing appears to be missing, although I note on replacement pulley kits, theres a large washer and a smaller washer - I only have a larger washer. This is the pulley I have https://www.amazon.co.uk/AEG-WASHING-MACHINE-PLASTIC-PULLEY/dp/B084C3S7JB?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&a…

I have a fully integrated indesit washer, BL WMIL 81485 uk. On the 60° wash cycles, 6 and 10, the washer sticks on the wash cycle and won't rinse or spin, this cycle is never ending unless you manually switch off the machine. It has had a new motherboard (after the drum weight bolts sheared 2 months after purchase and practically destroyed the macine on a spin cycle including the electrical harness which blew the original motherboard, all fixed under warranty) However, the new motherboard also has the same problems with programmes 6 and 10. Anyone else have the same problem? Is it a software problem with these motherboards?

I have a Miele W2243 and have replaced the tension springs and shock absorbers. the 2 springs at the back are in the same slot, but on the front the left one is in the top slot and the right one is in the bottom slot. When i replaced them i put the new ones in the same slot, now when the machine spins it makes the clunky noise on the left side of the machine from the shock absorber. this depends on how the washing is distributed in the drum.
