Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help with a John Lewis washing machine JLBIWM1403 that is not draining. I have looked at common faults/troubleshooting etc and am unable to proceed with checking the drain filter. Upon removing the cap I find what appears to be some sort of inner cap - image posted here. I can't find anything similar online and have tried unsuccessfully to prise it out. Is this normal? Do I need a special tool? It's clearly not what is described in the manual: Any help or advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Nick

Hello all, My Samsung model WD13J7 has stopped spinning properly. I have replaced the four shock absorbers (1 was completely shot, 3 seemed not too bad) but it still keeps stopping and restarting the spin cycle. I presume this is related to a faulty vibration sensor (MEMS). But I can't seem to find where it is located on this model. It's certainly not where the YouTube instructions show on similar models at the top-front of the drum. This is probably because of the heat around there from the drying function. But where is it then? Can anyone help? Thanks!

Hotpoint Washing Machine WMFUG742G spins however it rubs at two particular points. Does this both while running on cycle or when turned by hand. Machine seems level however have leaned it back and forward to no change in case it was due to the washing machine being at an odd angle. When rotating the drum by hand can see gap appearing at the top as the uneven side gets to it as if drum is no longer circular. If I push the drum up and to the right, the drum evens out and goes round without rubbing. No other noises. Pictures show gap at top and the drum rolled round for same spot at the bottom to show difference. Drum rubs bottom right as it turns up, enough t…

Hi, not sure if I'm just being thick. Purchased a new indesit washing machine a few days ago, I've tried a number of different wash cycles but the machine never takes the fabric conditioner. Is there a plug to remove or something. Really odd ? Thanks for your advise in advance.

Wondering if any can help on the following: My Samsung washing machine flashed up with an "AC" error code yesterday - manual tells me "check communication between the main and sub PBAs" which isn't much help. After the error code the display panel also froze, not allowing me to power off the machine or do anything. Unplugged and left it for a short period, turned back on last night and seemed to be back to normal display. Attempted another wash this morning, was fine for 20mins then same error code and frozen display. Unplugged again at the wall, however this time the machine wont power back on at all, nothing lights coming up on the display, no start up sounds…

I'm having trouble finding the release clasp of the drum paddle of an indesit iwdc6125. Any ideas of which hole it's under or if it's a different method for this type?

Hi, sorry for the long backstory, thought it would be best to add the full information. I have an Indesit xwd71452 xkuk My other half recently overfilled our washer and a sock managed to somehow bypass the drum seal and wedge itself between the drum and the water inlet pipe. Chaos ensued as the water backed up rapidly and started to pour out of the powder drawer. Once i had removed the offending item and started a new wash a h20 error occured about a minute into the cycle. The pre-wash was filling correctly but no water was entering for the main wash, apart comes the machine again and on checking the inlet valve solenoid was showing an open circ…

Hi all New user here. Would really appreciate some advice on issues I'm having with my Hotpoint washing machine. Firstly, it usually washes fine and without issue. However, whenever I use hand towels, the whole drum will fill with soapy water and leak out of the detergent dispenser drawer and front door. Foamy soap will also come up from the kitchen sink. I tried a rinse programme for these towels, but even after that, the towels are still very soapy (this doesn't happen with other items - only hand towels). I'm wondering if the hand towels, which get a lot of use, have accumulated soap from washing my hands, and this could be the issue? I say this bec…

Hi all, I'm having an issue with a Hoover VT 814D21-80. The machine has stopped working, there is nothing showing on the display and none of the lights light up. It beeps as you turn the dial and when you press the buttons so I would assume there is power going to it. I thought it was going to be the control panel so I replaced it, but nothing has changed. I have Googled and YouTubed but with no joy unfortunately. Just wondered if anyone here may be able to shed any light on this? Thanks in advance. Regards, Grant

Hi there, My Beko Washer Dryer WDIR7543101 has started making a scratching noise when I turn the drum round by hand. The sound is coming from the top right hand side of the drum, nearest the control panel. I have checked the filter and inside drum as a matter of course. I've also taken off the seal from the front panel and peeked in the gap and can't see anything obvious- I can't see the outside of the drum though, only round the edges. I've seen some previous threads around checking the motor and belt- but I was wondering if anyone more versed in this than me might be able to suggest the best course of action based on my observations. I'm expecting it's…

My Beko machine is making a lot of noise when trying to empty the drum. I've followed troubleshooting so emptied the filter and the propeller spins freely, checked the waste pipe etc. I noticed some sand and seeds came out of the drain pipe when I manually drained it and it smelt pretty bad. The cycle just sticks and drum keeps spinning without draining so I have to stop it manually. Do I need a new pump? Or is there another obstruction I can get to? Thanks! VID_20230707_191125.mp4

My washer/ drier indicated F11 code shortly after starting a cycle. We have cleared filter and hoses and we ordered a new water pump . We checked the resistance on old and new pump this read 280 ohms. The error code appears after the installation of the new water pump. What else can we check

Hi. My Bosch Classixx 1000 has been a solid performer for nearly 20 years. But, it's now developed a fault. it's clear that it's a PSU problem on the main board caused by water ingress onto the board. The PSU uses a TOP209P, a three terminal Off-line PWM switch. That may be faulty so I have ordered a new one. However, the more difficult issue is that the transformer in the circuit has an open circuit on one of the windings. This component might be hard to repair (but not impossible). I wish I could source a new transformer, but what the chances of that I don't know. There are markings on the transformer something like V0GT R1 or VO6T R1. I attach pictures. Can t…

Reading on from various other posts, here is my situation so others can make a comparison. I have a Hotpoint Washing Machine just under 2 years old. For the first 18 months is was all good but recently I hear it beeping mid cycle. Its always 3 beeps together, beep beep beep. My Washing rituals have not changed so can't think It is due to the load. Why isn't Hotpoint addressing this issue, it seems to be common. I usually put the cycle on 'Synthetics at 40° and the full (long cycle) 2hr 55mins. Usually about 1 hour into the cycle the beeping starts. It drives me mad as I keep looking at the display screen but there is no fault or warnings, so why is it doing this, what doe…

Hi, I have a hoover-hdb5106 washer dryer that is taking longer than it used to dry clothes, and they still feel a bit damp. Def used to be better. Feels like the humidity doesn't get removed. Gets hot and steamy in the drum, so all good with the heater. Feel like I need to clean something but there's just the pump filter which is fine, not sure where the condenser is or how to tell if its working - I guess I could check the drain to see if water is coming out? There seems to be very little manuals available, so looking for someone who can point me in the right direction. thanks

I recently opened this machine with a view to replacing the bearings only to discover that it has a sealed drum so the bearings can't be replaced . However I can probably get an other year out of it as the bearings don't sound too rough. My problem is when reassembling the machine I forgot to take note of the connections to the heater and am left with one cable which does not seem to fit anywhere, any ideas? I am pretty sure the two connected wires on the left were connected to the lefthand terminal but now I can't see how they connect.?

Hi everyone. My Beko machine started acting up last Friday while I was descaling it. It kept turning off and making strange buzzing noises. But it completed the cycle and I thought nothing of it. I completed another cycle the next day and again - no problem. But today, the machine just kept cutting out and turning back on again. It also made a weird buzzing and clicking noise - I’ve uploaded a video below. I managed to salvage my stuff by putting on a spin cycle. Then when I tried to check if the machine was working again, the buzzing started and the machine just kept turning on and off repeatedly. When I tried a spin cycle to empty the machine it wouldn’t work at al…

Hello Folks. I've got a WDUD9640, which trips the fusebox, when turned on. The display will come on as normal.. A click is then heard.. Then the display goes off - along with the power. This could be a common issue for a machine of this age.. I saw markings inside, dated 2014 - and the literiture is a 2011 copy. We've had a few ideas thrown around, as to what it could be: The Heating Element.. Or The Circuit Board.. But something is triggering a failsafe. I've had a quote from Hotpoint, for something like £240.00 - where they will come out to attempt a repair. If they can fix it, then that price stands. If they can't fix it, then …

Symptom, very very noisy when spinning? so I have taken the top off it and run a full load, when spinning at 800 + rpm it’s very noisy and drum/ housing vibrating all over the place. Both top springs intact as is the concrete, belt seems to have good tension and traction, also the drum appears to spin ok without being “ loose” but I haven’t removed the belt because of the totally enclosed outer case. Any thoughts at this stage I’m at please

washing machine randomly stops during washing cycle. LED indicators show that it's still in the program, but motor does not spin, and water is not going in. Used to happen about 50% of the time on the koch/bunt program, but not on the easy-care program, up until today when it wouldn't finish either. It has never displayed any error codes, and in diagnostic mode, where you should see the entire history of error codes, it didn't display any either.

Hi, I was hoping someone could help us. We’re having an absolute nightmare with our washing machine. Some of our clothes are coming out with dark spots and larger stained areas (brown, sometimes look almost black and sometimes a bit orange – obviously some of this depends on the colour of clothing) on that are impossible to wash out. My first instincts, like yours most likely will be, are that it’s something we’re doing but I have ruled pretty much everything out. It all started with our previous Samsung machine and we actually had Samsung in to look at the machine and they couldn’t see much but replaced the drum. We found it still carried on doing it and unfort…
