sin33 Posted February 19, 2025 Posted February 19, 2025 Hi I own a Candy gvs148d3/1-80 for around 6 years. It washes, but won't drain and spin. I get the error code E09. It tripped the single switch on the mains. I've checked the drain on the front left. I've also checked the belt. All is well. Could it be a problem with the door switch? Could it be the tachometer?
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp Posted February 24, 2025 Root Admin Posted February 24, 2025 Hello there. The problem with the door switch would cause the whole machine to stop functioning. A problem with the tachometer would usually cause the PCB to lose control of the motor, or the motor to stop functioning. However, there are many other, more common faults that can cause a motor stop running. If the washing machine has tripped the electrics, it needs testing with a specialised insulation test meter to trace the fault. I have to assume that the fault (apart from tripping electrics) is that it is not pumping the water away because it can't really not pump the water weight and not be spinning as separate faults. If it won't pump the water away then it won't spin. But if it won't spin it will usually still pump the water away. If it is not spinning because it isn't draining the water that doesn't explain why it took the electrics. These articles are relevant but to be honest it sounds like you need an engineer.
