Hi there I noticed after I moved in the washing machine that came with the purchase was taking hours to do some cycles. After researching I can see its buggared but setting 8 does a good 45 minute wash however the temperature is scolding. Weirdly enough no colours are running and I mix colours. Image print doesn't come off really either. My plumber friend opened the cold supply to full as it was half open and hasn't changed the temperature. Anyone had this before and it may not just be the temperature part. The whole thing sounds scrambled!

Just posting this here in the hope it helps someone else stuck in the same position I was in last night. If you've got a Hoover H Wash 500 washing machine, the front filter door isn't easy to open and you might think it's on some kind of locking mechanism, similar to the main door. Short answer - it isn't. The hinge is on the left hand side of the door and you might have to slide something like a credit card corner into the 3 o'clock position on the door to be able to release the catch.

I need to remove the door glass for cleaning around the trim. How is the inner white plastic part secured? One screw near the handle and two near the latch but even with them removed it is not free. I assume it is clicked / latched into place but I have no idea where I have to force it apart. Any ideas? Thanks.

My latest new article over on the main site Whitegoodshelp is all about the drum paddles inside a washing machine's drum that often come loose or break - how to remove and replace a drum paddle It should be noted that not all drum paddles can be replaced. Some of them may even need the entire drum taking out but fortunately many can just be clicked into place. The article contains lots of useful advice and tips on the subject.

My washing machine lock seems to have decided to go haywire. Wheni try to use the machine and press the start button, the door lock light flashed and beeps. The door is then stuck, and I can only open it again by reaching into the top of the machine and pressing the top of the lock to release it. Any idea what is wrong and how I can fix this as I really can't afford to replace the machine!!

Noisy Whirlpool washing machine

Hi all, please would you be able to offer some advice on my Whirlpool washing machine? It has started making a noisy 'clunking' sound during the spin cycle and is gradually getting worse each time it is used. There is also a leak coming from the back of the drum. I'm assuming it's the bearing which needs replacing but I'm no expert having only done a bit of research. The model number & serial number are: WWDC 8420/2 (859204215010). Please see attached photo and video. 20210926_092501_1_1_1_1_1.mp4

Samsung WF431 Problems

Hi People👍I have purchased an old Samsung 14kg washer, it had some problems and still has to be honest, I found a problem in the main Inverter board at the back of the machine, I changed some components and solved the problem I had, but it still seems to have a couple of more issues that I believe are in the main board still at the back, one of the problems is it keeps filling with water, I have changed the water level sensor for a new one but it still doing the same unless I pull the supply cables from the fill solenoid. What I really need is a copy of the service manual, or a copy of the page from it that shows how to put it into "Engineers Test" mode and also how to…

Hi there This started leaking a few days ago. Cleared filter, check seal etc- no dice. I took the back off and ran a cycle and the source (or at least the appearance) of the drips is clear- highlighted on the photo. However I have no idea what this part is! Looks like something is dripping down onto the solid weight below the front of the drum and the drip is coming from that weight. Doesn't appear to be the tray although that is quite hard to see during the cycle. Anyway if anyone has ideas from my photo, let me know. On the quick cycle it only dripped at one point: Fill- Nothing Wash- Nothing Rinse- During what sounded like it filling with water at the …

Hi guys I'm after a little advice. When pushing back in the washing machine my partner pushed on the top where the touch screen is and made it loose and pushed it in a bit. I have attached some pictures. Is this as simple as taking off the top of the washing machine and pushing back in? Thanks a lot

Hi I want to buy new bearings for my Indesit IWC 71450. I am looking on Amazon and the options are 30mm and 35mm. Any idea which it might be? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Genuine-Hotpoint-Indesit-Washing-C00202418/dp/B00KRE6GJS/ref=pd_sbs_3/257-9526858-6108147?pd_rd_w=5t7aS&pf_rd_p=a3a7088f-4aec-4dbd-97cc-9a059581fe7b&pf_rd_r=P57DWXG00JH2J1GDQ74W&pd_rd_r=dfda702a-8d08-4056-80da-6bda5f602814&pd_rd_wg=Y4teq&pd_rd_i=B00KRE6GJS&psc=1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Washing-Machine-Bearing-Hotpoint-Indesit/dp/B003FTOYFA/ref=pd_sbs_1/257-9526858-6108147?pd_rd_w=npz68&pf_rd_p=a3a7088f-4aec-4dbd-97cc-9a059581fe7b&pf_rd_r=VSQ9SFA7AR9H69DGPHK0&pd_…

Hi Guys, thanks for accepting me to the forum. I had this light blinking on my machine. did the following: 1. checked water supply: OK 2. checked flow rate: OK 3. checked the filter: OK 4. checked the waste pump impeller for free movement: OK 5. checked the drain hose: OK the light still blinks. I took the power plug out again, took off the inlet hose (with the solenoid) from the faucet, and put it back up. I put the power plug back in, now the light went off. This made me suspect that maybe the solenoid is on the edge... Anyhow, I used the opportunity that the machine is out, to clean the water inlet assembly. took it off, cleaned it, a…

AEG L7WEG851R washer/dryer. This is about the third issue I've posted about for this machine; it hasn't served us well! I have checked advice articles and can't find anything about this specific issue. Background We discovered recently that the water was not actually getting hot, so I got busy with my multimeter and established that the heating element had no continuity. I've fitted a new one today and it's working - the water is hot. However during my testing I also removed what I think must be the humidity sensor, presumably for when it's drying. It goes into the back of the drum and has a probe on the end. Please correct me if this assumption is…

Ticking sound when drum rotates clockwise
by Daves8888- 2 followers

I have a brand new Beko WER860541W. We’ve had it for a week. Today it’s developed a ticking sound when the drum turns clockwise that i can only describe as similar to a ticking clock that speeds up and slows down as the drum turns. Oddly when it spins at fast speeds, the sound goes away. Other than the sound it works perfectly. I was just wondering if anyone could hazard a guess at what it could be and if it’s worth getting the engineer out. Thanks.

Hi. I have a beko WMI 71641 that recently stopped draining. I replaced the pump to fix this. Since then I now have an issue where the water comes in to the machine to start filling the drum but appears to immediately be drained out via the outlet hose. I’ve checked the usual things - water pressure fine, water combining into detergent drawer ok, no pipe kinks, no filter blockages. The machine finally stops after a few mins with a tap with a line though it displayed. I know this implies no water coming in, but as I say I can see plenty of water is coming in…just can’t work out why it goes at ta Ishtar back out! any suggestions gratefully received. cheers …

BOSCH WVG30461GB WASHER/DRYER NOT DRYING 1 2

My Bosch WVG30461GB has twice in the last month stopped drying clothes, both times I've removed the top cover from the machine and pressed the small switch between the two green connectors in the photo which has reset the machine and solved the problem. I know how to fix it but don't know why the switch (presumably some sort of overheat safety device?) is tripping in the first place, can anyone help?

Excessive dust on clothes

Hi. Hoping someone can help me from going out of my mind. I have an LG front loader washer dryer. Even though I rarely use the dryer as I find it takes so long to dry clothes, I am really having a problem with what seems like excessive dust on my freshly cleaned clothes once dried (even line dried). It tends to be with stretchy materials more such as pants/socks/T-shirt’s etc. I’m conscious about not putting too much liquid/powder in, and not overloading the machine. I’m also conscious about not having it on the full 14000 spin incase that’s too harsh on the clothes but nothing seems to help and it becomes a little embarrassing when I’m out and whenever I move I puff with…

Hello, I have a Bosch WFG2420GB washing machine that stopped working during a wash, the' Ready' light started flashing and the door was unlocked. I think it was towards the end of the wash cycle on a 60 deg C cottons+linens setting. It still had all the water in the machine. When selecting and starting the drain function to get the water out of the machine it did not respond so I had to drain the water out of the machine with the drain hose under the front cover.I removed the pump cap and checked the pump for loose debris/fluff etc but did not find much at all. The pump impeller rotates Ok, so the pump cap has been put back on.I removed the drain hose off the back of the…

AEG LAV981 Drum Bearing Seal

I have two AEG Lavamt 981 washing machines which are still running. One is in neeed of a drum bearing change but I am struggling to obtain a replacement seal. I have tried Ransome Spares & a couple of other companies without luck. They claim not to have the necessary machine data, plate below. The twin lip seal is for a 35mm dia shaft & fits into a 78mm bore in the spider. There is an outer lip of 87mm diameter which contacts the steel outer drum. The original is Corteco 45-78/86-10.5/15 BAESLSFX7 It seems a shame not to repair this machine for the sake of an oil seal. These machines are so well made, they still work & l…

Hi, This is far above the FAQs and I cannot find a definite answer on this site, or elsewhere, so any advice would be useful and much appreciated Unwilling to pay Miele prices for a bearing seal on a W844 machine that is 20 years old and had had a very hard life, I used a compatible seal which appears to be of good quality. As I am currently in Italy, I used ebay as most UK suppliers will not post to Italy. As I was limited on choice, I used a high tack silicone grease (this product: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwievp7q0b3xAhXQCOwKHXqLCuoQFjABegQIFhAD&url=https%3A%2F…

We have a 7 year old Bosch Washer/Dryer machine. We typically use the dryer cycle only on towels. A complete wash/dry cycle can take over 4 hours so we set the timer at night and have soft warm & clean towels in the morning when we wake up. One night it stopped in the middle of a wash/dry cycle. The circuit breaker to the washer (and fridge) had popped. After resetting the breaker, the washer did not respond until the water was drained. The towels were still wet. A subsequent 2 hour intensive dry cycle made no difference. I like to fix things myself but I gave up trying to find helpful info on the internet. I swear that it is getting more difficult to find…

New world washing machine marking my clothes

Hi everyone, I’ve had my new world washing machine for a couple of months and it has started marking my clothes. It will only mark random items so some come out clean but others come out marked with dark brown/black spots. I’ve had the repairs guy come out and he says the washing machine was fine but that it could be a build up of fabric softener. I’ve cleaned my washer on a 90’c wash and it is still marking my clothes. Does anyone have any suggestions of what could be causing this. Would appreciate any advice or tips thanks joeleen
