Paul T
Just posting this here in the hope it helps someone else stuck in the same position I was in last night. If you've got a Hoover H Wash 500 washing machine, the front filter door isn't easy to open and you might think it's on some kind of locking mechanism, similar to the main door. Short answer - it isn't. The hinge is on the left hand side of the door and you might have to slide something like a credit card corner into the 3 o'clock position on the door to be able to release the catch. I am having this issue and cannot open the pump cover. I have tried this but it still won't open. 🤔
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted September 11 Root Admin Report Share Posted September 11 Hello Manda. If you are talking about the actual pump filter that you would normally unscrew or unlock, and pull out to reveal the filter, then this article has a section on what to do if your pump filter is stuck. But if you are talking about the metal flap or door built into the casing of a washing machine that provides access to the filter, then that's a totally different thing. There's no reason whatsoever why one of those would not open, and I cannot think of any fault that could cause it to stick. Not unless somehow it was hinged and the hinges had rusted. Maybe you push it in and there is a spring-loaded catch? Alternatively it would need to be gently prised open, though they would normally be some indication of which side to do this on. Full instructions would be in the instruction manual, which can be downloaded if you don't have one. Need a repair or spare parts?
