Siphon problem or has the machine been moved too much?

Recommended Posts

Model Candy aquamatic tempo approx 2018.  I recently moved into an old apartment where the bathroom renovation is scheduled to be in 2024 and ever since I moved, making the washing machine work properly has been a nightmare. The washing machine has been moved twice and has been in storage for a year before.

I called a professional for the installation for insurance reasons also believing it would make a difference, but the machine has been having some issues with vibrations. I was also disappointed to discover that the nearest drainage for the washing machine is the toilet, there is no other pipe, which is very inconvenient. I tried to make things better by buying a rubber matt for the vibrations.

Frustrated with the drainage situation, I got the brilliant idea to replace the drainage hose to a slightly longer one, to see if it could drain the dirty water into the floor instead, where there is a hole for the bathtub drain, but I discovered that a low laying pipe, would trigger a siphon effect and drain all the water out without ever filling the drum. I discovered I would need a siphon break in order to be able to drain into the floor.

Given the unsuccessful attempt, I decided to put everything back as it was before, but unfortunately now the washing machine doesn't fill properly and it doesn't start the washing cycle. There is some water going in. At the beginning, it fills a little and you can hear the water flowing, but then it does some clicking sounds and spins a bit and tries to fill more on repeat. It keeps making a clicking sound like it's not able to move past the filling phase. When I reset the machine and select the centrifuge and drain program it works. I was careful when unplugging the hose and I didn't bend the washing machine too much. I was bending the machine just enough to reach the opening at the bottom, nothing crazy.

I can't find any leakage.

I don't understand why it's not working like before and if it's still a siphon problem, how was it working before with the same exact hose position?  Are these problems occurring because the washing machine has been moved around? if so, what can I do?

Hi. Problems after moving a washing machine are usually caused by a kinked fill hose, faulty or not fully turned on tap or siphoning.

If it’s still siphoning you should be able to see or hear the water running down the drain hose and drain. If the drain hose is pushed too far down a standpipe or it pumps into something too low water will siphon out.
