I suspect that the fuse keeps blowing on startup because of a capacitor fault. I have taken the lid of the washing machine but can not see where the mother board is to be found. Does anyone know where it is in this machine? Background: WM stopped emptying the drum and did not go into the correct end spin cycle. I found the cause was a small piece of cloth blocking the pump at the drainage point at the base of the machine. I restarted the spin cycle and all was well, until the next morning when I tried to do a new wash. This time the power plug's fuse blows immediately. I think it wouldn't hurt to inspect the capacitors to see if any have blown. This is an old m…

Hi My Whirlpool washing machine (7.5 years old) started leaking from the start of a wash during the first few minutes. I opened the back and found the leak coming from a black washer part which is connected to the electrical, as shown in the picture (circled in red). The black washer was sticking out slightly, I pushed it back in and the leak seemed to slow down. Please can someone help me identify what part this is and what do I need to do to fix the leak? I am not familiar with the various parts at the back of the washer, but it seems weird to me that there is this black washer "plug" which seems quite loose currently, does it normally sit like this?

Hi, I have had the engineers out several times on my 3 year old John Lewis (AEG). It is now fixed after replacing the drum and the motor and fixing a loose wire on the heater. However the front seal clip fell off today on the first load after the fix. It is not tight as the spring has been stretched. I have squeezed the spring so it is a bit tighter and probably won’t fall off again, but it’s not really serving any function. Is this a problem or should I just leave it? Also the arrows at the top of the seal don’t line up. The seal is about 1 cm to the right. Are either of these things something I should worry about. Many thanks, James

I have an AEG washing machine Lavamat 6955. It is 22 years old had quite heavy use throughout its life and apart from replacing the carbon brushes twice, it has been 100% reliable. However, after the last replacement brushes were fitted about 2 weeks ago the machine has made a strange smell. This is impossible to describe so I will say what it is not. It is not a bad smell like anything rotting. It does not come from the drum or the detergent drawer. I have tried a very hot wash and that made no difference. The motor is too hot to touch after a wash but I understand that is normal. The smell is not burning (rubber or plastic) it appears to come from the motor area or can …

I have a Samsung WF70F5E5P4W which is about 3 years old, and two days ago it starte acting strange. It starts the program, the drum spins okay, but then at some point in the program it seems stuck. It tries to rotate the drum, but it only moves a couple of inches, and then goes back, then it tries it in the other direction. eventually the washer stops (pause). I can then resume it, but most of the times it does the same thing again and stops, Sometimes it continues th program, but might again stop at a later time. I have been able to manually rotate the drum at all times, so it is unlikely that it is stuck against something. I have checked the wirering at the back, …

Afternoon all, Model WVD2452BGB/04. Metal drum, only leaks when water gets to a certain level. Appears to be coming from the back of the drum at the bottom. Identified location by removing front, pouring as much water in the drum as possible without it spilling out, tipping the machine back until it started leaking. Having a feel around it doesn't appear to be running down from anywhere else, but can't be certain without dismantling the whole thing. It's a slow leak, only loses about a pint in the course of a normal wash. Any top tips gratefully received!

I get an error 03 on washing, finding out it's a draining issue we cleaned out filter, then changed the pump.....still doing error so found out it could be pressure switch not saying drum is empty to spin so we changed that and I'm still getting the error 3. After getting the error if we turn off the power leave it a cpl of hours then use drain and spin function it works and spins. As a result though I never get the fabric softener cycle to go on. If we do the drain and spin straight away after the previous error we then get an error 16 but have no other electrical issues with it and it's the only time error 16 comes up. We are at a loss now as to what else is wrong to re…

Hi, I was trying to find similar problem at this forum but couldn't. Around two weeks ago my washing machine has started stuck in first washing cycle. Machine fills and drains, doing 2-3 spins and again fills and so on. After playing with washing setting I found out that machine works fine if I choose to wash it without heating water. I thought that this is because of limescale on the heating element, but today I took of this element and it looks almost like new. What else can cause this issue? Shall I try to replace heating element? Would appreciate any help! Thanks in advance.

AEG Lavamat 610. The heater has failed on my old machine. I would like to repair it at minimum cost. This machine uses a dual element 1900W/950W heater (AEG 645423235) costing £40 plus, -unless someone can suggest a cheaper source? I see that there are single element heaters which will fit, such as Partmaster 'alternative manufacturer' 2.3KW heater for under £14 here. Can I use this cheaper part and bridge the contacts so that the single element will be energised when either heater power is called for? What was the supposed advantage of a dual element heater in the first place? Thanks.

Hello there.. I have a Beko washing machine WM6133W. Recently, the motor started to change speed every 3 seconds or so. I thought it was a tacho coil that was broken but I found out that it is a ring attached to rotor shaft (where the tacho is reading the speed of rotor). It seems it is made of plastic (brown colour) and it is cracked in half. As it was attached to rotor I'm just wondering if it's possible to buy it as a spare part. Any suggestions? Photos attached. Thanks. Daniel

Bought an AEG L7WBG741R washer/dryer just over a year ago, and it is not an exaggeration to say that 50% of the time it refuses to spin due to sensing an 'imbalanced load' (or so I assume, no indicator as such on the machine to tell you this). Have checked that the machine is level with a spirit level, it definitely is. Having had a Miele (like the machines, dislike the company) before, when I first got the AEG machine I cheerfully threw in one pair of jeans and pressed Start, assuming that - like the Miele - the AEG could cope with a low load. Nope, machine drum bounced all over the place and jeans came out sopping wet. However I find that even full loads only …

Siemens washer dryer delivered in October 2018. Thick black lines on washing when on white wash at 40 degrees or 60 degrees. Engineer report states overloadingor wrong washing detergent. Second Siemens machine with same problem. Won't admit it is a fault with the machine. Is it because it's a washer dryer? Has anyone experienced this problem when using a washing machine which is not a washer dryer?

Hi, I'm first time poster here and would appreciate if someone can help with this issue. Basically, I have this oldish miele that has never failed us and now it is coming up with check water inlet and check water drain pipe warning lights, both together towards end of cycle. It came back after few washes having cleared it once by tilting machine slightly to deactivate sensor, which I found out about from online help. Now the question I have is if this happens again, could it be fault with the water protection activation sensor that brings up these warning lights to protect excessive water leakage? I mean, both times this has happened, I haven't seen any visible wat…

I thought it was the brushes, but on my model the brushes are integral with the motor and I was told if it was the motor then it wouldn't be spinning properly at all! Well it dose spin but with only a few items at a time if I leave it, it just keeps refilling and emptying and sloshing around for hours!!!! Is there some kind of sensor in the machine that may have gone? Any help would be fab as I don't have the money to buy a new machine at the moment!

Hi guys. I'm new to the forum, however I have been reading you posts in the past. I'm a white goods engineer and have been getting loads of Hotpoint elements that has been caked in lime scale and refusing to come out, recently. I know it takes a brute force to take such elements out but if knew of any technique you can be used to get them out without damaging the tub, could you share it with me? Thanks

I have the new WiFi connected Miele wasn’t machine. Yesterday I accidentally bumped the power button while it was in the middle of a programme and now the screen just appears with a “ Miele” icon. Nothing seems to work! I had to drain the washing machine to open the door... not sure what to do - I’ve only had the washing machine for a couple of days!

Hi I'm having trouble diagnosing the fault with this machine. At the start of a wash cycle it will give a split second burst of water and then stop showing E04. I blew down the pressure pipe to check for blockages. Checked for resistance across both inlet valves - both show equal resistance. The pressure switch is mechanical type with 4 terminals but only 3 are used with 1 red wire and 2 blue wires. With the pressure switch disconnected there is no continuity between any of the terminals on the pressure switch. When I blow into the pressure switch to hear the click the 2 blue terminals connect. When I blow slightly harder pas…

We have a Siemens machine (about 10 years old) and the brushes need replacing on the motor. I am having difficulty in seeing how to remove the motor. There are two bolts facing the rear of the machine and easy to get at and remove. The rear of the motor appears to be supported by two sections at the rear with the photo showing one of them. I have removed the front bolts but cannot see how to release the motor from the rear There is no panel on the side of the machine to view the motor Thanks in anticipation of help
