I recently changed the drain pump as the machine stopped working due to the fact it was unable to drain the water, there seemed to be a slight smell of burning, after checking the filter on the pump it was blocked with some material/cloth, this would have stopped the pump from spinning and I believe burned it out hence the smell. Now after replacing the pump (and it works fine) its left with an error code 4e, ive checked all the relevant fixes,"faulty inlet valve, blocked inlet filter and so on" but it seems that, whichever wash cycle you choose it only allows water into the rinse section of the drawer, so I wonder if the burning smell was possibly the PCB shorting due to…

Hi, please can someone help/offer advice with a problem with my Bosch Maxx5 Washing machine. Up til now I have been getting an intermittent fault where the machine will go through its regular cycle and sometimes stop at "1" minute left on the digital display, which means the door will not open. The problem is now permanent. Any suggestions on what the problem is and also how do I open the door to get my wash out. I have tried all the programmes, but the machine still displays "1" at the end of each one. I thought the problem might be a blocked pump, so took that off and a 10 pence fell out along with a couple of small twigs. I cleaned it up, and I thought great, problem s…

Hi My hoover vt1014d23 washing machine seems to be stuck on delay start. When i turn it on by turning the dial to select a wash the display shows: 0880 9:99. Ive tried pressing the start button but nothing happens. When I press delay start it starts to wash but the wash is never ending. Does anyone know whats going on? Please help...

Hi! I've got a problem with my Hotpoint WDL520 and looking for advice. I recently put in a load of towels (read: heavy, wet) and left it to wash and dry while I went to work. I came back and the machine had flipped a breaker (I think when starting the spin cycle - there was still water in the drum, but not much soap). I manually released the door lock, turned the socket off, reset the breaker, and turned the socket back on. The program came up fine, I switched it to 'pump out', closed the door, and the breaker flipped again immediately (with the door re-locked). I had a problem a couple months ago where the motor was causing a short - I had cleaned it out with some com…

Hi, I purchased the above washing machine in February 2014 and just a couple of days back it appears to have generated a fault...... When I turn the machine on and select a program (i.e. 40 degree cotton wash) it begins to fill as it would normally and then it begins to spin approximately 2 minutes later which all appear normal. The problem is that it does not stop filling and when I feel the door it is really cold so I am assuming the water is not being heated?. Can anybody give me any advice? Is it time to send it to the washing machine graveyard after just 18 months? Many thanks, Ste.

hi all, i hope you are well. did some major surgery on the washing machine today after some car carpet mats were in it, and bunged it up good and proper. filter out. back off. hoses inside the machine out, clean, jet wash....uuurgh, its been horrendous! anyways, ive noticed that there is a tear in the rubber "skirt" that goes between the drum and the front door (see pic). it was probably there before the carpet mat debacle, but not sure. is it a big problem? the machine is now working fine so far

My front loader wasn't draining properly so I tried to remove the filter and clean it but the cap was jammed. So after turning it on its side and unclipping the pipe I removed what looks like a filter sock. It's about an inch wide, 6 inches long and made of something like polar fleece with a small opening only at one end. Can't find reference to anything like this anywhere so just trying to confirm if its something that has slipped in and got jammed or whether this is a microfilter from further up the pipe that has come loose and jammed the pump. The other end of the pipe is connected with a clip held in place by a large hex head screw that I don't have a bit for. Just w…

One of my shirts accidentally went into the wash with the collar bones in, near the end of the wash the machine stated making a very loud noise, like someone twanging a ruler 200 times a minute, the noise was present during wash and spin and even when the drum was still or draining. The noise wasn't coming from the drum but from the bottom right corner of the machine. On opening the drum I found that one of the collar bones is missing. My guess is the collar bone is stuck in a pump. Where should I start looking?

Hi, I'm hoping someone can shed a degree of light on what a noise might be - I'm planning on calling someone out over the next few days but thought I'd check to see if it was something common with LG Washing Machine and if there is anything I can check. Many thanks for having a listen! The noise occurs mostly near the start of the cycle and towards the end, always when the drum is turning/washing. However, there are also times when the drum is turning but there is NO noise - both clockwise and anti-clockwise. There is no extra noise when the machine is on the spin cycle. The machine is a around 6 years old now. I've checked the common things, like the drain. I've h…

I recently bought a new LG washing machine (model above) & was working fine for the first few washes. The washes were clean & dry & was running very quietly. However, shortly after & mid-wash, I got an error message OE saying there was a problem with the drain. I searched the Internet & found the drain hose & filter inside the lower cover cap. I manually drained the water from the emergency drain hose into a suitable vessel & took the drain pump filter off & cleaned it. However, when I went to re-attach the hose & put the drain plug back in, the hose fell back into the hole & I'm not able to get it back, probably without removi…

Our ISE10 has not been heating for at least a year now. While I've enjoyed the cheap washing and the results have often been excellent there are a few occasions where 60C is needed. With the mess around ISE warranty I suspect I have to fix it myself. Does anyone have any tips on fixing a non-heating ise10? thanks

Hello, Domestic mysteries, one of a series of many thousands. This morning, while I was in work, my wife put our washing machine on with just a light load and then went in the bath whilst the machine went through an express cycle (programme 13) wash and dry. As the machine started to wind up for the spin cycle, she heard a loud bang. She got out of the bath to investigate and found that the washing machine -all 40-odd kilos of it- had moved forward by about 6 inches. (see photos attached). The machine continued to work normally and finished its programme. When i came home from work she showed me exactly what had happened and how events had unfolded. The bang, she thin…

I acquired this machine to try and fix! Model number ZKN7147J. Machine wont fill upon start. If i manually fill it with a bucket, the valves then kick in to top up. The program carries on, spins out but then wont fill again for the rinse. Water is taken in for the dryer though. It also took in water for the 90 degree wash cool down??!! I have had the machine apart today, cleaned all pipes and filters. Ive checked all wiring also. Im guessing it needs a new inlet valve but feel its not really worth it for the age of the machine. Anyone any ideas? Could it be the PCB? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I have a Bosch Vision 300 Washing Machine (WFVC4400 UC/24). I've started getting a E01 code recently and decided to replace the door latch with a brand new one. I'm still getting the E01 code after installing the new latch. I ran a test and got a C06 code. I also checked all the drain tubes/boots and pump. I also made sure all the wire harnesses were clipped in tight. Is there anything else I should try? Thank you for any help! Travis

To be honest I dont remember ever noticing but it seems to be ok in past. What I mean is its divided into 3 sections each with a program number, I normally put it to 6 which is the first synthetic one which ends up at 9 which is spin going through eco wash and cold wash then drain before that. In the last few weeks noticed stains in clothes havent been coming out as well, i.e slight discolouration on underwear but the clothes smell washed. What I am wondering is that is it going straight to the cold wash and sticking there regardless of spending the time for all 3 cycles and that would explain stains not coming out as much but then why is it using the whole cycle time …

Hello I have a problem with a Bosch WFX3267GB. All washes fail with error code F04 (blocked pump or blocked drain hose). The pump is clear, I have removed the sump (clean and clear) and checked the two-position pressure switch (contacts are OK measured by multimeter, I can make it switch by blowing into it and I hear it switching when I fill the drum via a jug of water). At the beginning of any cycle the pump starts and drains any water within a few seconds. The pump then continues to run; after a few minutes F04 error is shown and the machine beeps: the pump continues to run until the power is switched off. There seems to be no attempt to fill the machine: there's no…

Hi, I have a Hoover Vision HD 9kg 1600 A+AA Super Silent Washing Machine. The machine started making a horrible banging noise and then went BANG! So I moved it out and opened the panel at the back to find the belt had come off and got tangled up with all the wiring mainly to the motor and has ripped all the wiring off so I now do not have any idea what goes where! I can get a replacement belt and fit it myself I just need a wiring diagram, a picture or even a video of the back of my machine so I can fix this as well but can't find anything online so far.... Any ideas?? Thanks, Jason

They fell out the bottom when I tipped it sideways about 45 degrees to clean under it (yes I know this is a silly thing to do). Was wondering if they are even a part of it or maybe left over from the packing material? Have since checked thoroughly underneath and inside the top with a torch and can't see anywhere that they may have come from, but they were definitely inside somewhere. Model is Bosch Exxcel WVD24520GB washer drier. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t10/arkatos/2015-07-24%2008.07.12_zpshbxzwcu3.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t10/arkatos/2015-07-24%2008.07.32_zpsb6xc3srq.jpg Thanks.

Please advise: There's a horrible noise. It only occurs pre spin when the pump is draining water, I have checked for blockages in the drain pipe and also emptied the lint tray.

Hi, bit of a novice on tiny stuff. The old 9 yr old washer was spooling up and started clunking. Not sounding good, had a look and the drum is moving laterally as well as vertically. Popped the top off, and the dampers feel really weak. Gentle push and it bottoms, looks like fine oil at the base too. Should they be this weak? Is there anything to stop the drum moving laterally apart from inertia? Thanks in advance.
