Hi All. Apologies for the n00b terminology in advance. This is my first post. I have a 6 year old WVD245S3GB bosch washer dryer. There is no problem with the washing cycle, however when the dryer cycle is started (eg auto dry for 2hrs) it pauses after 4 minutes and the door lock gets released but the timer stays at 1.56 I looked on the forum troubleshooting guide and I am not sure if this is a problem with the TOC (not entirely sure what that does) or the thermostats. Most of the engineers are looking for a large call out fee and I read somewhere that if it is a fault with the main board it may not be worth repairing. Has anyone heard of a similar issue before? …

Hi, we have a Hoover top load machine. Sometimes it will stop during the wash program but the timer dial keeps going. I turn it off at the dial and open the lid and then go back later to see if it will start. It does but after a fair while sometimes. Today nothing after an hour or more. It does not do it during any other cycles. Could it be moisture getting from the tub onto some electrical part? Any ideas?

Candy GVW158TC3W Washer Dryer I am wondering how I can do just a conditioner rinse. I tried the Rapid 30 min program and none of the conditioner was taken from the middle draw compartment. I have also run the rinse cycle and the conditioner is also still there. What programs use the conditioner function and what is the shortest cycle I can do because I only want to refresh swimming trunks etc that don't need cleaning. Thanks.

HI I have a bosch avantixx approx 5 years old and it keeps stopping during the cycle flashing up the F17 Error It first stops about 10 minutes into the cycle with the F17, it seems to keep draining long after the water has gone The F17 Error flashes up at least 2 more times throughout the cycle so I have to press the start button to continue, this happens about 3 times and then it finishes, I have checked that following: Hose is not kinked Filter has been washed Filter on the inlet is clear Blew down the pipe from the pressure switch, that's clear Checked the large piece of plastic that the pressure switch pipe goes to, th…

Just after some advice please. Ive moved to a new house and I have a built in washing machine. I bought my WDAL8640 Hotpoint Washer Dryer with me and was planning to use this just as a tumble dryer. It seems not work though as the drum will not turn or heat. Ive been told this is because it is not connected to a water inlet and I dont have a spare one I could access and I was wondering if someone could confirm if I definitely need a water inlet for just the dryer function only to work and if so if there was anyway I could override this function? Few years back I had another Hotpoint Washer dryer and used this the same way as Im hoping to now and it was working fine withou…

Can this be safely removed and replaced with a regular hose? Miele are very reluctant to countenance this but will not provide me with technical information without a call out. Will its removal (and replacement as indicated) actually affect the working of the machine or just remove the flooding protection ? The flooding issue is a none issue for me but I suspect the box is clogged and slowing the inflow rate and so need to test the machine with water directly from the mains EDIT: Yes I have done a search for Waterproof System on this site

Firstly apologies if you can't assist with dryers, I did check and I didn't see anything to say you didn't but at the same time I didn't see anything to say you did. We have a Hotpoint TCL780 Condenser Dryer, it recently stopped getting drying clothes and just ran cool. I did various investigation work (basically I googled it!), everything appeared to point to a problem with the thermostats. I bought a couple of replacement thermostats off eBay, fitted these but no change, the dryer still didn't get hot. I did a bit more digging and it suggested I replaced all 3 thermostats rather than the 2 I had already replaced. In the end I decided to buy the entire heat…

Hidy. Examining door lock problem yesterday, wiring connector from lock badly scorched, so decided to replace wiring as well. Pulled out machine a bit. 4 screws in top and, unbelievably, a rivet directly above the dispenser drawer. (I assume two more screws at the rear.) The machine is fitted, and the top is a single piece of galvanised steel. I am going to drill the rivet out; I won't be denied access, but just wondering if anyone got any warnings, or if anyone come across such stupidity before, and why they think this was done. Why would a rivet be placed in a lid that was otherwise held on by normal cross-head screws? My gast was truly flabbered. Never seen this b…

I have a Samsung Eco Bubble washing machine which needed a debris filter clean. I pulled out the drain hose to empty the machine but when trying to push back the drain cap the tube shot back into the hole and I can't retrieve it. Any ideas on how I can pull it back out again or is this something that needs a "special tool" repair. Thanks.

Hello! I'm in desperate need of some assistance. Many thanks in advance if you take the time to read/respond. I have an LG WM2010CW Washing Machine. It won't drain. With a small load and full of water, I unplugged it for a bit and then plugged it back in. I then ran the Rinse/Spin cycle. There was already water in the basin before I started this operation. The first thing it did was spin intermittently. Then, it fully drained. Then it spun for a while. It then filled back up and with 12min remaining on the display, it stopped. The small light next to high was blinking and the beeper/rinse&spin buttons were illuminated. After about 10min or so, the 12min rema…

I have a Zanussi WDT 1085 which is a combination washer-dryer. Yesterday I turned the knob to put on a 'dry' cycle but the knob came unaligned with the dial that shows the different cycles and turned on a wash instead. Now the washer-dryer is full of water. I want to put on a spin/drain cycle but I'm afraid to turn on the dryer by accident. So, two questions. First, will it break the machine if I turn the dryer cycle on while it's still full of water? Second, does anyone know how to realign the knob? I think it is only pulled to the left about an inch but I can't be sure. I have attached a picture of the knob for reference. Thank you so much for …

Bosch WFL2450 will start then not get past the first step. It will fill, then you hear a snick as it tries to go onto the next step but doesn't get there. It pauses for a short time, then snicks again as it tries again repeatedly. I only let it do that a few times before powering off. On spin only, it drains, then snicks and gets stuck as above. Drain works, but that is all. I have cleaned the filter at the bottom, nothing stuck there, just a bit of grey silt. Is there anything I can do to get it working again? Is something stuck that I could unstick? I am happy to remove the back and try minor repairs preferably with the guidance of a manual or y…

Hi I have bought a reconditioned machine but 3 weeks later it broke the company that sold the machine came out the next day and said that there was excessive damp behind the machine and condensation has gotten in to the components and shorted the main PCB. To be fair there is, and there's mold growing on the wall. This is an issue i am currently taking up with the landlord but can this break the washing machine? should the company that sold the machine repair it under warranty? Any help on this would be appreciated

My LG washer - F1495KDS - recently fell foul of the mysterious exploding glass fault last week and since then I have had a mighty headache. The service manual does not show a part number for this in the exploded diagram. I can replace the outer door frame (MDQ61976901) and the inner door frame (MDQ61281001), I can even buy a complete new door assembly (ADC33666416), but it seems even LG themselves have no clue whether this part exists as a seperate entity or why, if you can buy the inner and outer frame, you can't buy the glass bowl on its own. It defies logic that this is the case, as I expect the most common door fault with a lot of washers is a broken bowl,…

Hi had this machine just over a month. I reported the problem and a Hotpoint repair guy came out, but couldn't/wouldn't understand the problem. He left after 10 minutes having decided the routing of the discharge hose wasn't quite right. I've taken a timelapse video now of what happens and booked a new repair. Hopefully will get something positively sorted now. The problem is that the predicted time is way off what it actually is, and the time left changes a few times during the whole cycle. Some programs take longer and others shorter, but always the same- so ruling out variations due to load/temperatrue etc. I saw a similar problem mentioned for a Miele m…

I've turned my washing machine on to use tonight and the drying light is flashing even though it isn't set to dry. If I run a cycle it will also dry. Does anybody know how to clear this so that it only dries if selected. Thanks

Hi there, I was hoping someone could help....I recently ran my washing machine on a hot wash (90 degree) along with a detergent to get rid of a bad smell in the drum. When next using the machine, it cycled through the program without the drum turning. I've opened it up and checked the following: Checked the belt - okay Tested the motor with the following readings: Between brushes 4ohms Tacho 65ohms Field windings 0.96 ohms 0.99 ohms 1.75 ohms The field winding resistance seems pretty low to me, but I can't find any information on this motor. I've also had a look at the pcb in the bottom of the machine, to see if there are any dry jo…

Hey guys, I've just signed up in desperation of some help so I will apologise in advance for coming here looking for something straight of but after reading parts of the forum I think someone here could hold the answer I need. I've also read through the Troubleshooting guide and nothing there fits with my problem. I had the bearings replaced under warranty before it expired. The machine came back with an occasional squeaking noise going into and coming out of a spin. The engineer thought it could be the shocks and replaced them too but the noise remained. So the insurer wrote the machine off and paid me a reduced amount to keep it. It's a bit of a long stor…
