Hotpoint wm52 bearing seal

Hi I have fitted new bearings and spider but whitch way around should the seal go when looking down into the plastic drum should the spring in the seal face the bearing or face out into the drum?.

I'm assuming you mean the seal that protects the drum bearings? It's a long time since I did one but I think it fits with the flat side facing the drum so the spring faces the bearings. I would think it would be difficult to fit it the wrong way around as there's nothing to knock against to force it down flat on top of the front bearing the wrong way around.

To be honest it's so long since I manually replaced drum bearings I'm no longer sure. It's well over 10 years since I did one as people always preferred to buy a new machine rather than pay to have them replaced.

Thanks for your help that's the way I fitted the seal in the end and all seems fine.
