Hello, there. The kitchen in the house we have moved into has a wood laminate floor, unfixed, on top of floorboards. I therefore need a washing machine that is low on vibration. Does anyone know whether the Bosch machines (I'm thinking of no more than 1200 spin) with anti-vibration and noise-reducing features would be a good choice, or a Samsung VRT Plus model? Many Thanks.

here are some of the 'mods' I have done to our washing machine, (after wifes approval of course) Machine: Hotpoint WMUD843 Bought September 2012: https://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x361/Andyr_45/DSC_0039.jpg Cut/Filed extra bit of plastic on door fascia where hinge is to allow porthole door to open back further https://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x361/Andyr_45/DSC_0035.jpg Adjusted water level of washing machine. By cutting the top off the Water Level switch (very carefully with a hacksaw) and adjusting plastic screw (a couple of turns slowly clockwise) this will put more water into the drum, thus if the fast wash 60'c / 40'c /…

Got a WMUD843 Washer and the program that gets the most use daily is the 60'c Fast wash - however im peeved that I cannot select 90'c on this programme only 60'c/40'c/30'c for times when say I have some towels and want to give them a really good wash at high temperature at 90'c - other than that I can select 'cottons' @90'c but the programme lasts for hours, not knocking that much off if i press the 'time saver' button - i know you would need extra time to heat water in drum up to 90'c but Id settle with say 1hour 10 mins wash at 90'c - i think that would work. I just wish they gave you the option in the software of selecting quick wash at 90'c/60c/40c hate being res…

Hiya, This maybe my only post, but it's about a question driving up the wall: Which wash cycles do I use on my washing machine? Basically, it has: Anti-Stain, Cotton and Synthetics (and a whole load of specials that appear straight forward). The manual helpfully advises: "separate clothes into material type". Great, I've got a mixed load of roughly the same colour, many of the garments are mixed fabric. Is there a basic 'mixed' wash? No. There are daily quick washes for mixed, but these are clothes in need of a good wash. So if I use Anti-stain, it's a rigorous wash, won't it shorten the life of the clothes? (having used it for a week I'm already seeing bob…

I've just had a brand new Beko WM74155LS machine installed. I want to do a quick wash with 1500 rpm spin but it won't let me do this, just with a 1000 rpm spin. Is it possible to do a quick wash with a 1500 spin on this model?

I inherited this hoover washing machine but don't know what the icons refer to and can't seem to get it to fill with water. It's hooked up to water hose and hose is on. I'm not sure re settings. I have searched online for the manual-no luck. See attached image.

I have had the above washing machine for a couple of years but have never been able to use it as a tumble dryer without a washing programme being run first. How can I just dry something with it? Many thanks.

My 10yr old Zanussi FL1084 recently packed up (wouldnt drain). Fixed the problem which was 2 things (related). The Pump had died, and the pump outlet pipe was very blocked with grey deposits (also on inlet side). Looking at this deposit it isnt greasy and I dont think its limescale (doesnt look like kettle limescale anyway). I am now thinking it is wash powder deposits (presumeably undissolved). Have been using persil non-bio tablets with Calgon tablets (v hard water area). Mainly 40 degree washes with some 60 washes. I am thinking is this because 2 tablets is too much for this 4.5lb capacity machine at low temps (not fully dissolving)? Would wash liquid / liqui…

I need to move my washing machine into my garage where the floor is about 3 feet below and 12 feet away from the floor that contains the sink that I need to empty the machine into. Does any one have any idea whether a standard washing machine pump would cope with that or, if they won't, the best way to incorporate a secondary pump. ie in line or via a secondary tank that the machine could empty into?

Just ordered an BEKO - WME8227 8kg machine. Should you do a cleaning wash, before you start putting cloths in a new washing machine to remove any dirt/grease ect. I was thinking of running the longest and hottest cotton wash to check the heating element and basically check everything is working fine, but 2-3 hours is a long wash. Thanks John.

Searched the forum but couldn't find anything, so here's my question. Our old hotpoint washing machine died after 14 years. We could have had it repaired for around £140 but decided to get a new one instead, we ended up with a Miele Prem 520 which I'm pleased to see is quite well regarded However, the old machine is still in the corner of the kitchen - I've been meaning to take it to the tip but tonight Mrs NBT has mentioned that she thinks this may not be allowed. Now I know that there are rules on the disposal of fridges etc due to CFCs, but I'm not aware of any such issues with washing machines - expect maybe the weight of them, getting it in and out of the …

Hi All, Our trusty Hotpoint 9537 (1992 model) has finally carked it and being acutely aware that most stuff in the sub-£500 bracket on sale today is cr*p, I'm looking for something better built (and hopefully more reliable) and am prepared to spend more in order to get that. This website is great and has helped enormously in my deliberations. So for outright quality/reliability, backed up by a 10 year warranty, go for Miele or ISE. Sorted! Er... no. My problem is that I live in Northern Ireland. Despite being (last time I looked) part of the UK, we are specifically excluded from Miele's 10 year warranty (possibly their 5 year one also?). I also dislike…

I've just bought our first house and the previous owner took the washing machine and tumble dryer with him. They were previously integrated appliances under a counter (and behind a cupboard) in the utility room. I can't see much selection for integrated appliances, so I'd rather go for free standing ones with the doors removed. However, the size available is W60xH88xD58 - which would be tight but could fit some 595mm width machines in it. Would I be ok with very little room around the washing machine and condenser dryer - i.e. very little ventilation? Another problem is that I can't actually see where I can plumb the machine in. It looks like there's a cold wate…

My partner and I just moved our washing machine up on a custom made shelf about a meter off the ground. Since then it became faulty and making funny sucking noises. Would you say we broke it while transporting or is it the height that causes the problem? Thanks

I was told to connect this to the cold fill on my washing machine and blank off the hot which I've done but is this right? My clothes are hot when i take them out of the machine so am worried they're being washed in water that's too hot. Any help appreciated thank you

Hi Have just bought a Bego WMB81442L Washer and can't find out how to set the Rinse Hold facility. Might be being stupid but I can see in the instruction manual how to turn the facility off but not set it at the start. If anyone out there has a Beko with this facility on it, I would be pleased to hear from you before I pull my hair out in frustration Kind regards

Hii There, Does anyone know the purpose for the bowl shaped glass door design of high efficiency washing machines and what function they serve? They basically look like small tubs when removed. I'd really really like to know.

My Panasonic Bedding Program has a maximum temperature of 40C. I wonder if they were drunk when they designed it. Bedding has to be washed at 60C minimum to kill all the nasty stuff?
