We have recently bought a Bosch Serie 6 (WAT28460GB/7) washing machine (to replace another Bosch machine). We have found that, unlike the old Bosch, there is no "anti-crease" or "anti-tangle" at the very end of the cotton and easy care programmes (By this, I mean that the drum does not do a couple of slow turns in each direction to untangle the wet washing). We have not yet used all the available programmes so we do not know whether it works on any other, except the "rinse and spin" where it does. I call Bosch Customer Services who told me that it should do the few extra revolutions on all programmes except wool and that we should call out a technician. As this feature…

Hello to you all, new to the forum! Working on layout of my new kitchen and as in many kitchens the washing machine is one of the tricky bits. Not many places it can go and the slot in question happens to have a section of wall that protrudes, further restricting the depth available. My installer and I have worked out we can just about wing it but might have to shave a tad into the doorframe to allow for the worktop overhang and for it all to work - not ideal but it is a small galley shaped 2bed flat kitchen and some compromises have to be made. So, long and short is when it comes to the appliance, any millimeter I can save will make a difference i.e. possibly getting a…

Hello I need to replace my broken Zanussi washer dryer, I was hoping to remain with Zanussi because it has served me well for 10/12 years however the delivery dates quoted are in March and my need is more urgent I have selected Bosch WVG30461GB from Which best buys. I have been warned that after the guarantee expires it could be difficult finding a local independent engineer to help, relying solely on the manufacture service network. Is this the case. During my search I found a supplier, Montpellier, which I had never noticed before and was wondering if anyone has any experience of any of their products / service etc. I am grateful of any help offered to either of my …

Got a Siement Siwamat 5040 second hand - been trying to figure out how to use it without ruining my clothing but - it's still a learning loop and all my stuff is coming out WRINKLED. Does anyone have in their possession the knowledge or the manual on how to use a gentle cycle without all the wrinkles? When I attempt to move the dial to the necessary temp and program the dial just moves all around without stopping and the program does not engage. Thanks for any help. This is an emergency because I cannot lose any more clothing to not knowing how this machine operates and all attempts at finding the manual online have failed.

Hi All, My integrated Bosch washer dryer has died (apparently the drum has deformed). I need to buy a new one, but all the options see unappealing - it really seems to be finding the best of a bad bunch in this category. I like to buy quality that will last, but at £2,349.00 the Miele WT2789 is twice what I could afford to pay (although it does look rather lovely). Bosch / Siemens / Neff seem the obvious choice, but all three appear to sell three identical models which are rebadged for each manufacturer. The reviews, and Which? reports, are pretty negative about all of them. Same goes for AEG. I've pretty much discounted Hotpoint Zanussi Indesit Candy and Hoover due to t…

hi, you must get loads of these. sorry. clothes washing machine packed up blah blah need a new one probably. so, i like meile, on a side note i bought a second hand meile dishwasher 10 years ago for £60, it was 8 years old then and it has never gone wrong. i like meile. i dont like their new washing machine prices. i get to feel that i could buy 4 cheaper ones in the time it takes for the meile to go wrong, there will have been some advances on the state of the art. maybe. maybe there isnt much more to be added to the state of the art of washing machines. what i need from a washing machine is: say 8kg load. a fast wash of about 20 mins at 30 or 40 degrees a mixed w…

My trusty Siemens washing machine has given up the ghost after 9 1/2 years service- it still looks as good as new but won't even turn on and I have washing stuck in the drum. As it will cost over £100 to get it fixed - callout alone is £95- I am looking at getting a new machine. I want a long warranty , it least 5 years but I am 9 years behind the times as far as washing machine technology is concerned so it's all a bit confusing. I have seen Aeg machines that offer a 5 year warranty but my new build house is equipped with Aeg fridge, freezer and dishwasher and to be honest I am no impressed with the quality. All the drawers in the freezer have broken as has the door tray…

New here so please excuse if this should be in the 'repair section'. We have a ZWF 16581 W Jetstream. Yesterday it stopped on the 1 minute after a 'proportional load' run... ie also with no beep... (Twice) the only way to get the door open was to operate a 'drain cycle'. Today we put it on a Cotton Normal and having completed the cycle the door beeped and opened.... My partner said the washing felt cold.... Two questions... 1. what temperature water is used in the rinse cycle? ie is it cold? 2. Is it possible that the heater is at fault which causes the door to not open at the end of the 'proportional load cycle? Anyone experienced either of the above? Thanks

Hi, First post on what is a great site. Just taken delivery of an AEG machine from John Lewis. Started to unwrap it and found the bottom is exposed so can see all the internals. Had a Hotpoint previously but decided to go with AEG, not a good start so far, Having not had a machine in about 7 years i'm pretty sure this should be covered right? Cheers.

I have just bought a Bosch WAQ28462GB and the 'instruction' leaflet is very vague! I'm not sure if I'm supposed to remove the four bolts at the back of this washing machine machine, before I install it? There are four plastic caplet type things that look like they may fit, if the bolts are removed? I'm pretty confused, and frustrated with the pathetic 'instructions'! If some kind soul, would point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Kind regards, Louis.

HI My washing machine packed in last week, so need to buy a new one, I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount but also don't want a cheap machine either. i was looking around the £500-£600 mark. Family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids (15 & 3). I have no idea what brand to buy - I can see that everyone seems to rate Miele as by far the best but I saw this at John Lewis - would anyone vouch for it? Hi all, My trusty old Zanussi has finally given in and I have therefore decided that it's time to treat myself to a new machine. I'm new to this kind of thing as my Zanussi is about 25 years old and therefore things have obviously changed a fair bit since I bought it. I'm a single guy so I don't need to be washing clothes every week which obviously means that the machine will be only subjected to fairly light use. I'd be looking to spend £300 to £350ish (unless there is something for less which will do me for what I need) If I can get one which will last half as long as my Zanussi I'll be happy !! Any pointers would be very much appreciated as I need to get one reasonab…

I'm interested to learn how to wash a duvet, not a duvet cover. Previously I've washed my duvet in the bath-tub but it never seems to get it totally white. What's the best way to wash it? Is it possible to cram it into the washing machine and hope the water reduces its volume? Or simply use the bath-tub with washing powder?

I have a neff 6544 with no machine number on any labels. I like to soak my washing for an hour, not using the prewash because that throws away the powder added to the soak. As it is at least 10 years old I no longer have the manual. Neff do not have one in their customer support department. My concern is the best place in the cycle of say 95/60 or 60 (on the right of the attached) to turn the power off and leave the clothes soaking for an hour. What I have discovered is that the soap is washed into the drum at the beginning of the wash, but the drum only builds up with water after the spray sympol on the dial. I am also wondering if the soap should be fed in after the…

Hi all, New here so this if first time posting.. We've been looking at replacing our old washing machine and have been looking at the Samsung models. They seem fairly well priced at the moment and I have been doing a bit of research but have found there are models that look identical, have the same technical specifications on the website but have different model numbers so I'm trying to find out what the product code / model numbers mean. As an example, there is a WF80F5E0W4W and a WF80F5E2W4W model, but I can't find anywhere that says what the 0 or 2 means. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Hi, I have a Zanussi front loader and have tracked a damp smell in the kitchen down to the washing machine . I have done a 90 degrees wash with an empty load, cleaned the filter and soap dispenser. However I noticed the door seal is thick with "grunge". Can any one help on how to clean the seal and also any areas of the machine I can't see,

My washing machine has packed up and I have £700 from JL to use for another washing machine from them. I have narrowed my decision to the following 3. My current washing machine is used for a family of 2 adults and 2 children (3 children in the future). I am keen on the Miele WMG 120 as it has some great sounding tech regarding automatic dose where it stores detergent and fabric conditioner for around 3 months within the machine and applies it to the load depending on weight and wash... However the AEG has some good options as well for £400 cheaper or £300 cheaper after cash back.. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks AEG L98699FL Freestanding Washin…

Hi there I have a LG washing machine, model WD-14316RD and I have a big problem with lint on clothes after washing. I have made sure that the filter is regularly cleaned and try to clean the inner rubber ring in the machine. However, after washing clothes are full of little fibres. I wiped my hand across the inner drum after the last load and there are loads of tiny bits of lint. Is there a way to get rid of this? I don't seem to have a 'tub clean' function on this model but should I run an empty cycle? I have also been spinning clothes on a slightly gentler spin cycle as otherwise the clothes are so tangled and stretched but I am not sure if this makes a difference. Th…

Hi everyone! I recently moved in on a rented flat that has a washing machine of a brand I've never heard about, it's a "Respekta WA-6118". I found a few pages of the original manual but there's nothing there describing the programs. I only know that it runs from 1 to 13... I don't wanna risk shrinking my clothes or ruin delicate clothing, so does anybody know this model's programs?

Hi everyone, Apologies if I have missed a topic on this somewhere on the forums. I need to get a new, integrated washer, but we are really struggling with the dimensions needed to fit the integrated space. Old machine is a Baumatic BTWM4, and the door is knackered. No replacements available so trying to source a new unit. Dimensions needed (cm) are: H: 82 W: 59.5 D: 53 Could go a few millimetres on the height and width maybe, but depth has to be bang-on. Trawling the net, but struggling to be honest. Please help!

Who could to help me deciding the next question? I have only two days to replace a old washing machine. I am considering two models: Miele WKF 120 CHROMEEDITION and LG F1495 BDS. I tested them. The machines washed the same things by a powder of the same quantity and quality with similar programs and options. I cannot say that Miele WKF 120 CHROMEEDITION washes better then LG F1495BDS. Miele WKF 120 CHROMEEDITION has the best functional in compare with LG. But Miele washing machines have the problem of imbalance during intermediate spinning of two towels (The washing machine was not able to do an intermediate spinning rather often. The weight was a little more 1 кг of dry…
