Carbon Brushes Hoover Wa110

Dear Andy, Thank you for this site. I live on a small island in the Hebrides and professional help is sparse and sporadic. My Hoover WA110 washing machine filled up with water at the very beginning of the cycle, but as soon as motion began the drum revolved very erratically. I was told by a passing electrician that it's probably the brushes. I have removed the back of the washing machine, removed the drive belt and taken out two of the motor holding bolts. Is there a third unseen or can I now prise off the motor and get at the brushes? Or is this a mistake?

Hi. I have a Hoover AL130 washing machine. The pump will not work. I have tried fitting a new pump but it's still the same. I have bench tested the old pump and it works smashing. Could it be the control board? If it is, then why is the pump not turning even though it is getting power. Please help

My Hoover Performa Eco 1000 BB recently began to stop shortly into a program and refuse to go any further. This did not happen when I turned the thermostat down to '0', so I assume that the heater is broken (?). If it is the heater, is this a repair that a DIY/electrically-competent 'amatuer' could tackle? If not, what sort of money would I be looking at to have it repaired? (i.e. is it worth me thinking about getting a new washing machine instead of the repair?) Any thoughts/advice welcome, thanks.

I purchased a Hoover Washer Dryer New Wave Plus 5 1400 rpm, model W2140 back in about 1996. We have subsequently moved to another country where of course the local Hoover service people have never heard of such a machine. So I need help with this problem. Symptom: All functions operate normally except there is no heating during the dryer cycle. Either on the low heat setting or on normal heat. The "Low heat" diode illuminates when that function is selected. The hot air ducting is an aluminium casting situated along the top of the drum. There is a fan (which operates normally). There are two thermostats which show 0 ohms resistance. The are two other small black square d…

Washing Machine Not Filling With Hot Water
by Curious- 3 replies

We have just had a new combi boiler fitted and noticed that our washing machine is not filling up correctly. It fills up correctly on rinse but doesn't seem to fill up from the hot tap. Could it be something to do with the inlet pressure / temperature of the hot water? The boiler needs a min pressure drop of 0.5bar to start heating the water Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

New Wave A2101 Won't Fill Or Spin
by Curious- 9 replies

My New Wave 2101 won't fill properly on a wash programme, only a small amount of water goes in. On a spin programme, the drum rotates at a low speed but never accelerates to a full spin speed. If I use the cancel button to halt one of these programmes, the pump runs for continuously (trying to empty the washing machine) then I get Error 1. I've checked the water supply and inlet valves - seem OK. I've checked the water pump and the outlet pipes - again seem OK. I suspect that the control logic 'thinks' that the machine is full of water, even though it isn't. I think I've eliminated the pressure chamber and its pipe work - because the symptoms are the same when I pul…

Washer Empties Out Water When Trying To Fill
by Curious- 2 replies

Help, I have a hoover washer. When filling, the water empties out of the drain pipe so it doesn't stay filled with water. When the washer is trying to fill, water is going out the drain pipe at the same time. Also the dial when set to 4 stays at 4. The washer does spin when set to six (6=spin cycle), Could this be a control unit problem? Any suggestions?
