marsh369
i have the above washing machine and it recently started makin a funny noise when pumping the water out of the drum. So following the DIY help on here i replaced the pump as it was still making noises after cleaning the filter. After installing the pump i turned the power back on and noticed a buzzing sound from the main power cable so traced this and fixed the problem (plug wasnt wired up the best). After fixing that the washing machine only half works, it will spin the drum but it will not pump the water into the washing machine (yes its got a good feed of water, went through the DIY section for about an hour checking everything in it). dont know if the pump is working either but this could be to the fact that theres no water in it.Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly helpful..Thanks in advance Jason. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted July 12, 2012 Root Admin Report Share Posted July 12, 2012 Hello Jason. If a pump is open circuit or has a broken connection on the neutral side it can stop the water valves from working in some machines. The pump should run whether water is in or not. You need to check if the pump is running on a spin programme or not. It sounds like a neutral fault on the pump side if it stopped taking in water after the pump was replaced. Either that or something daft like a kinked fill hose or the tap faulty if you turned the tap off to work on it.If none of those pointers help, check this article step by step - water not running into machine Need a repair or spare parts?
