After 13 years good service, with one new motor 2 years ago, the machine now stops after rinse cycle. My washing machine WFF2001 has a faulty relay in the Power Module according to the Bosch callout man [ limits spin speed to 800 rpm instead of 1000 rpm and also skips some rinse cycles]. It seems the relay is not available as a separate spare. The complete module 263909 costs £220 from BOSCH! Any idea where I can get a good used Power Module 263909? Or a more realistically priced new item? Or a new relay? Or some other idea? The washing machine is worth keeping going a bit longer, as it has hot and cold fill taps which are preferable. And it seems greener to rep…

After reading the troubleshooting tips, I thought it might be a broken spider as, when you turn the drum, it becomes difficult at one point and makes a scraping noise. Just had someone out and he said it's not obvious what it is. Has taken it apart and now now drum turning better but still a little scraping. He took out the heating element and now it won't go back in ( which he warned me might happen). Possible solutions: 1. Replace heating element and front plate (£128 plus vat) 2. Just replace heating element (£48 plus vat) but he says drum will still be catching a bit. 3. Get a new washer (this one is about 7 years old and don't use the drier much). Would b…

WM5100W Washing Machine went through complete cycle as normal and completed ok, removed laundry and refilled drum with another load. Pressed start, wash light illuminated. Nothing started, no sound, no clicks, no water input, no drum cycle. press start/pause and pause light flashes, press again and it goes off. Press Pause light for 3 seconds and spin/end light illuminates but then does nothing. Turned power off, held start/pause turned on, it enters test mode with ready light off, wash light flashing and spin/end light on solid. Cannot perform any other test, ie move selector to another program and press start does nothing. Turn off and on again returns the ready light…

Hi, I have a Bosch Classix 1400 washing machine WFO2867Gb/01 that does not heat the water. There are no error codes and the wash goes through in normal time. This problem only occurred after I changed the bearings on the machine. Therefore I suspect it is something I did not connect correctly or caused some damage while working on the drum. I have checked the element and the NTC and both are working as expected, I have proved continuity of the NTC wiring back to the PCB and also the element wiring back to the PCB and pressure switch. The pressure switch appears to be working OK - 2 different connections are made depending on the pressure applied. What else is involved i…

hi there, first post, only found this by accident after getting bit sick and tired of paying for an ex Hotpoint engineer to "fix" the WM63 only then for the fault to keep on coming back once he has left (3 times so far) and started googling "washing machine trips breaker on the net" as SWMBO is getting seriously uptight about it and I am getting annoyed at having paid an expert to diagnose a problem which doesn't get fixed. Basically a wee while ago (circa 12 -18 months) the wm63 needed new brushes as it refused to wash anymore. It had not tripped the RCD before that but once new brushes were installed it worked sometimes (as in completing a cycle without tripping) but …

Hi All, I've got the FW133W model which I bought new in the mid 80's I believe, and it's still going - original motor and original electronics, have replaced pump, belt and motor brushes several times, door seal once and motor bearing on none pulley end (couldn't get the pulley off to replace bearing that end), other than that it's all original. It has just overfilled and I can't find out how to pump (only) the water out. I've been trying to find a manual online for ages with out success despite searching hi and low. If anyone could point me towards one on the net I'd very much appreciate it, and or if any one has got a manual and can tell me how to pump (only) the wa…

Hi, I was hoping someone could guide me with their expertise. We have a Hoover Top Loader washing machine since 2006, HNT 5146. Recently, we did a wash and the water stopped draining. Did a bit of research, and as recommended, cleaned the pump which had linen and coins, so I thought it solved the problem, tried to do the wash, but same thing again, will not drain and I have red lights blinking. Is the repair going to be worth while or should I get a new one? Any recommended repair company in SW London? If not repairable, because our washer can only be located under the staircase, it has to be a top loader, if so, is Whirlpool a better make? and should I get a extended…

Hi all Got an aquarius washing machine which was working fine, then suddenly the motor just stopped turning the drum. Water in works fine, water out works fine, it goes through the entire cycle as if it's working but the drum doesn't turn. Checked the belt and that's fine, motor and drum turn with the normal level of resistance, so back cover removed to expose motor and I find the connector plug has one wire hanging off, as I'm trying to find out where it came from, another wire falls off. Some sign of overheating on the plug so I'm assuming this problem has just been waiting for me to have loads to do before showing itself. Anyone know the wiring connections ? Seems a…

Hi there, Last night my washing machine (Diplomat 8542/2) starting making a really loud noise, almost as if it was about to blow up. I stopped the machine and took the clothes out which were all marked with the same pattern as the drum. When I spin the drum by hand it is turning but feels a bit stiff. I called a local washing machine repair company who have told me that this is definitely a bearings fault and that it would be uneconomical to fix and I'd be better purchasing a new machine. Confirmation of this would be much appreciated before I pay out on a new one. Also, the current machine is integrated (I believe it was from MFI) - would most electrical companies ha…

Hello all, Ive just had to thaw out my fagor ff136 washing machine- incoming water supply, link to drum, and waste pipes were all frozen. Since then it keeps tripping the RCD, usually about 10 seconds after the cycle starts. I have managed to get it to run a full cycle using the delicates/wool setting at 30 degrees but no other program will work. I'm guessing an element fault (i will be testing the IR when I get hold of a tester this week), does anyone have any ideas that may help me sort this out? Thanks in advance, Paul

After the last wash, machine has filled up with cold water - but not above the bottom of the door - and now won't drain. There isn't an LED display so there's no error message. When I want to start a cycle, the 'door locked' light flashes red repeatedly (not in a pattern ie. 7 times). I've read some of your forum and I think I need to take out the cold water lead (from top right-hand corner of back of machine) and make sure it's not blocked, should I do this? Please help, I know very little about this sort of thing.

Hi..new to the site so hello everyone. .I have a Bosch Exxcel 1400..for a few weeks its been playin up a bit...missus says it stops midcycle...it wont drain...etc...I have solved the draining by clearing a coke ring in the outlet pipe!!!along with a mass of hairs!!...so it now drains. However it still stops midcycle...and you have to "click it along on the dial" for it to carry on and finish. No code comes up with this on the lcd...However it seems it now doesnt heat up...but it does!!!!..When a cycle is run with a load in...it doesnt heat up..(40/60/90 degrees)..cold glass..no heat at all....but if i run a cycle on empty and select 40/60/90 degrees...it heats up hot !!!!D…

Hi guys. I somehow managed to put detergent in both the drum and the conditioner tray yesterday and as you would expect there was foam everywhere!. The cycle finished and my wife went about rinsing the clothes, which, after 3 rinse cycles still were not rid of the soap. So I took them out and flung them in the bath to rinse them as she went about putting in another load. The machine fired up, sounded as though it was trying to drain something and then simply stopped and all the lights (included the on/off switch) started to flash. We tried turning off the power at the mains for a few minutes and tried the washer again. Same thing. So, I checked the filter and a whol…

Hi, This looks like a really useful site and has already given me some useful information but I'm still uncertain whether I have one or several faults with my old (around 8 years I think) Hoover machine. Sorry for a lengthy post but I thought I'd try and give as much info as possible. The faults I have are variable and inconsistent. Sometimes the machine works ok, while at other times it makes a lot of noise but the drum doesn't turn, though turning the power on and off is sometimes enough to get it to start turning again. Sometimes it doesn't spin while other times its fine. Sometimes if the programmer is clicking round but nothing else is happening I have turned t…

Hello, Nice Forum, btw. I have read your advice for machines that wont spin but, alas, mine still wont Spin I have a 18 month old Candy GOFS262/1-80 and as the topic says, it wont spin at all. The machine washes fine, but when it is meant to spin it empties the water ok, does half a dozen slow turns, stops, does the same again and then the finish lights come on and 2 mins later the door light goes off and it opens fine. If I put the machine on just to spin, it does the same as above. I've checked the filter and all the obvious stuff but no joy. Candy want £120 to repair, flat charge, but as the machine is only 18 months old and I am an engineer by trade I'd like to fi…

Hi all I have a Hotpoint WMD940K is telling me I have no water supply. I have checked the hoses, filters and the water pressure and these are all fine. The water inlet valve contacts are reading 3.6 kohms, which I believe is correct. The pressure valve is also functioning correctly. I am now stuck and can't think of anything else to try. This is my first attempt at such problems so I am convinced I have missed something. Any advice would be much appreciated as it has me stumped! Thanks DVan10

Hi I have a hotpoint washing machine that turns on o.k. and starts to fill with water, you can see the water once its reached the glass window start to drain but the water "input" continues and never seems to stop? even at the end of cycle when the timer reaches 0 time, the machine continues to rotate and carry on filling without stopping and pumping out intermitentley.I have removed the sump filter and pressure chamber and rubber pipe leading to the pressure switch and cleaned what dirt was in there! I have also taken my u bend out from under sink and checked for any blockages within the pipes as well as the drainage pipe! All have been clear? Can anyone help please! T…

Hi, I have a Bosch Exxcel 1600 Express washing machine, WFX3267GB/10, which is around 6 years old. Recently it's started playing up on the 30 degree Easy Care cycle. The machine keeps stopping, with the "progress bar" (the bar on the display that gradually fills in as the cycle progresses) flashing. Press the start button and the machine goes again - at first it would then run to the end of the cycle, now it stops again almost instantly. No fault codes or other symbols appear. When the machine was behaving itself, that cycle would always indicate 42 minutes when first selected - now it always indicates 35, and it's noticeable that the "time left" display changes fig…

Help! My Indesit WlL163 is not taking fabric conditioner during a wash programme - the section is filling up with water, I tried the test that is mentioned on an earlier page. The test DID work when I tried filling the section up with water - it did siphon out into the sink. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My Hotpoint FEW 12 stopped working a couple of days ago. The wash cycle finished and the "Program End" light came on, but it was still full of water. I removed the drain pipe from the stand pipe and syphoned the water out the machine, so no blockages. I removed the pump and found a hair band wrapped round the impeller, so ordered a new pump. I just fitted the new pump but still have the same problem. I checked the wired from the control board to the pump and there are no breaks. I also checked the voltage to the pump and it's reading 230v on the live AND the neutral side, that can't be right can it? Any ideas before I buy a new machine!?

Hi everyone, since my girlfriend, who has long hair that seems to get stuck in everything, has moved in, our washing machine has become increasingly bad at draining, most times clothes are still sopping wet after the final cycle, but recently, the door has remained locked, presumably because the drum is still too full of water. Can someone give me a walkthrough of which parts to check for blockages, or is this a task for a proper repair technician?
