Hi all, I've just bought a Bosch WAB28061GB - installed today & have done a couple of loads. I'm not sure that its heating the water - the door window feels cold to the touch (washing at 60 degrees). Also, as my last washer lasted 20 + years I understand that water usage is different on new machines but how can I tell if the right amount of water is being allowed to fill the machine ? I can't see any 'pool' of water in the bottom of the door window for example & no suds (even when no conditioner is being used - which I know can reduce suds). does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on how to check these things ? ta !

My washing machine is leaking from the door so I assume the gasket is damaged. Any advice how to remove it and fit a new one?

My washer dryer (now around 3yrs old) has recently started failing to stop when it's at the end of a drying cycle. It gets to the final 1 minute according to the display on the door but will just keep tossing the contents around until I force it to switch off by holding down the off button. The contents are then very very hot when removed. I'm not sure if there could be a fault with whatever it is that detects when there is no longer water being removed on the dry cycle, but I'm not technically minded so no idea where to start looking?

First post so go easy. We have an Indesit IWC7125 bought in France 2 years ago. It has done well, but as its now gone funky, not as well as it should. The bearings have gone in the main drum. Approaching any French repair people or parts people is like trying to find the holy grail and will cost as much, so I approached a few spares companies in the Uk. End result is I am getting no-where fast. All I need is drum bearing kit and I am more than capable of doing it myself, but can I find anyone to tell me the right bearings to get...... The machine looks the same as the Uk IWD7125 and 7123 so I "assume" the bearings will be the same. Any help would be really be appreci…

Hi there i purchased a Bosch washing machine (6kg) in March and up until recently its been a great machine, but lately my clothes are coming out of the washer looking fuzzy as if they've been worn dozens of times and as if someone has rubbed them with wire wool, and this has happened to brand new clothes, i've checked the machine to see if theres any rough parts but i've found nothing, what puzzles me is i turn the clothes inside out but they are still coming out the same, if there were any rough parts on the machine wouldn't the inside come out worse? I've tried different wash settings and different spin settings but nothing seems to be working, and i never overload the …

Ok, I have read the general blurb on why the drum won't spin. My machine has had a new motor and a new Module. I also changed the PCB display with a 2nd hand one, and it still will not turn. The belt is ok and the pump and water fills throughout the cycles and drains in all the right places. The door locks during cycles and opens at the end. I have done everything possible for me to do that has been mentioned online. Please help me!!! The Module I bought as a replacement was made a year later and differers slightly in that it only has 1 capacitor in the bottom left-hand corner and mine had 2. Also, the resistors are a different colour and fatter. The m…

Hi, Yesterday about halfway through the washing cycle 3 on my Hotpoint Ultima WT721 it stopped and I got error code F-10. I turned it off got all the washing out turned it off and today tried to do another wash. After about 30secs I got the F-10 code again, I've looked everywhere on the net and found nearly every other code but F-10 (typical) lol. I'm disabled and can't afford to get it fixed, can anyone at least help me with the error code.. Many thanks in advance, Dan.

Firstly I would like to thank the people who maintain this forum, I find it very informative. My problem in brief: I have a 16 month old, Candy washing machine. I used it the other day and didn't notice any problems. In the evening I went to work (did a night shift), when I came back in the morning my housemate told me there was a hole in the drum. I inspected it and saw that the inner drum (the metal one) is torn; the tear is about 3 cm. The outer drum (the plastic one) also has a hole of about 1 cm, it is irregular shape, close to the bottom of the drum and the heater rods and match the position of the other one. I can only assume that something got caught bet…

Hi, I have a hotpoint/indesit BHWD 129 integrated washer dryer which stops a few seconds after starting to pump out. The buttons lights flash and program lights 1,2,3 and 4 are lit (1 being the bottom door lock). for the few seconds the pumping works it seems to work fine and it is possible to empty the machine by restarting it (program "C") a few times. The filter in the bottom was also cleared. I understand the program lights indicate the error code but I can't find an online technical manual unfortunately and Indesit themselves refused to assist. Your assistance in identifying the problem would be greatly appreciated Many thanks Mak

Hiya. I have had a look around the site and tried a few of the suggestions to fix my washing machine but nothing that i have tried (or understood) have solved my problem as yet. My washing machine has decided that it doesn't like to spin when there is washing inside. It will do a full cycle when empty. It will turn and it will do a slow spin, it will turn one way then the other, i guess trying to rebalance the load, then try to build up speed but no matter how much washing is inside it just wont continue into the fast spin part of the cycle. it stops and two lights flash, the Start light and the prewash one. After taking the top off the machine, i can see th…

Hi,[/size] I have just replaced the drain pump on my washing machine and I'm suddenly unsure if what I've done is completely safe. I have a Samsung washing machine, model WF7602NAW/XEE, ser no.: X8985ARQ500554D. I've used a new pump - model M224 XP, it's 40 watts and the old pump, model M-47 is 30 watts. Have I used the wrong part? Does the difference in wattage cause a problem? The website I bought the part on said it fit for model WF7602, and I have a WF7602NAW/XEE what do the letters at the end of the model number mean in this case? The old cover for the original pump also doesn't fit the new one, so I put in the new pump without anything covering it. Does this…

Hi, I've got a Hotpoint WD860 washing machine. On all cycles it runs fine, then stops on 1 min for ever. You have to cancel the cycle then rinse & spin. Any ideas what the fault could be? No lights or warning messages. Thanks Hugh

I'm in Australia with an Electrolux front loader - it's a 7kg 'Eco Valve', model EWF1087. I don't know if they're sold in England, hopefully they are or the same thing with a different name, perhaps. The trouble is the soap is not being efficiently taken out of the soap drawer. It takes some and merely wets the rest. After the wash there's a claggy lump of hardened soap powder in the drawer. I noticed today, for the first time, that fabric conditioner is not being taken in, either. Any help would be much appreciated. Electrolux are majorly unhelpful. The 'regret' they 'can't help'. Just how stupid do they think we are, I wonder.

Hallo, I have a washing machine with maximum speed of 1400 rpm. But I am afraid that sometimes the speed is automatically reduced to lower limit. I don´t like this, I want the my washing machine always reaches the maximum speed because I spent a lot of money for it. is there a simple way to measure the speed of the drum? stroboscope light can be a way? I thank you for your help bye

Hi, I recently had a repairman check my washing machine due to mouldy smell. After running a water test (which tested fine) and checking the water filter and detergent drawer, he concluded that the smell must be due to bacteria growth on the drum (he didn't check it, just assumed). He said that replacing it would be around $500. Does this sound reasonable? Also, do I need to replace the drum due to bacteria? Is it not possible to just get the drum thoroughly cleaned? BTW, it is a kenmore front load machine, model number 417.44142400. . thank you!

Hello, i have had my Zanussi ZWF 1431W since December 2005, when the 1 yr manufacture warranty ran out i took out extra insurance via Legal and general, (paid monthly £700 in total) i have had no problems with this machine and have not had any cause to call for a engineer until last week my Grandson accidently found out the door could be opened whilst spinning, i contacted the insurance last Wednesday and a engineer came out today, he tested the machine and made a phone call i could hear the conversation, he was checking about a Technical bulletin with regards to this problem, he then replaced the door lock spun the machine at full spin and tried the door again and it op…

Hi, please can somebody help? Our HWB280-80 washer had worn bearing (the usual thuming noise, loose drum etc) I order a bearing set, and new door seal and set to work. It was a real pain getting the whole tub out because the front ogf the machine is fixed so the tub has to be lifted through the top, but, that aside, once the tub was out I thought i could simply split it and remove the drum to get to the bearings. How wrong I was! The tub was stuck fast and took several hefty thumps of a hammer to remove the spindle from the bearings, one of which (the inner one) was completely broken. Needless to say, thumping the spindle "mushroomed" the head so a new spider …

I purchased a Miele Washer Dryer WT2780 about a month ago. It has been working fine but after a cotton wash programme, we removed all the laundry except one dressing gown. We then set the machine to do a cotton drying programme. After a while the machine bleeped and gave the message "Fault check drainage system" I checked the pump and filter which were clear (there was about 2 litres of water still in the machine.) Our plumber checked the drain hose for integrity. I then ran a cottons wash programme with no clothes or detergent. It completed the programme without a problem and you could here the water draining out OK. Can anyone explain? Geoff

Good morning, I have looked at the DIY repair help: troubleshooting page but have not found a solution, sorry. I have a zanussi zwf1421 washing machine which has developed a problem. The problem I have is that the drum has worked itself loose or something has broken on it. The last time I used it there was loud banging when it was spinning and when I took out the clothes there were lots of little white plastic bits mixed in with them. The drum now moves up and down in the machine by about 2" up and down instead of feeling secure. I think something that secures the drum in place has broken. Would I be able to buy a replacement part to fix this, if you can work out what …

All other functions OK eg fill, drain etc. Bushes are OK, electrical connections OK, belt is fine, it has power ie light is on. Have read about the TOC. Can this be easily located and tested?
