hughwatkins
Hi, I've got a Hotpoint WD860 washing machine. On all cycles it runs fine, then stops on 1 min for ever. You have to cancel the cycle then rinse & spin. Any ideas what the fault could be? No lights or warning messages. Thanks Hugh
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted February 22, 2013 Root Admin Report Share Posted February 22, 2013 I've had this before, if I remember right an open circuit heating element can cause the washer to stick on wash for a few hours then jump to one minute remaining. However, a heater not working should cause a time out much quicker than that and result in a proper error code. There's some anomaly that can allow this to happen though, if I remember right it could be if the heater goes open circuit during a wash it causes no error code to be displayed. It's worth checking the heater if you know how, but otherwise get an engineer in. Need a repair or spare parts?
