chill99
Good morning, I have looked at the DIY repair help: troubleshooting page but have not found a solution, sorry. I have a zanussi zwf1421 washing machine which has developed a problem. The problem I have is that the drum has worked itself loose or something has broken on it. The last time I used it there was loud banging when it was spinning and when I took out the clothes there were lots of little white plastic bits mixed in with them. The drum now moves up and down in the machine by about 2" up and down instead of feeling secure. I think something that secures the drum in place has broken. Would I be able to buy a replacement part to fix this, if you can work out what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance. Paul
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted February 7, 2013 Root Admin Report Share Posted February 7, 2013 It sounds like the drum bearings have collapsed or possibly (but rarer) the drum spider shaft has broken. Sadly, it's usually considered not worth repairing these days but if it's not very old and you know a good local engineer it may be worth getting a quote. It won't be cheap though.
