I have a Zanussi Z816WT85BI washer dryer that is very good. It works great but I’ve noticed a build up of baked on lint (that resembles almost felt) around the seal, closest to the drum. It’s hard to clean, as it’s in a ridge right by the drum, and it’s rigid so hard to remove. I’m assuming it’s a build up of lint etc that is then being “baked on” to the rubber seal during the drying process. You can just about fit a finger in there and I’ve removed some of this lint by picking away at it. I’ve tried a cleaning cycle and tried removing the lint but it remains in place. It isn’t currently affecting the use, but the machine is only 1 year old and gets used often - so I don’…

Got issues with a 5 year old bosch. The drum after a wash is all sticky and full of residue which only comes off with bosch cleaner, nothing else cleans it. As soon as i do another wash the stickiness and residue slime sticks to the whole drum again. I dont know if this is coming off the clothes or from the outside of the drum...any thoughts?

Hi all, ZANUSSI ZWF1430W My w/c had a small leak and when I removed the top cover I found that the small top vent hose was the source. That has now been fixed by replacing the hose. However, in the process I observed the drum and noticed it moving around a lot. The problem is that I don't have experience of doing this on another w/c so no idea if this movement is within normal range or it is excessive. This link shows the w/c doing its wash cycle: https://youtu.be/uJLYt8HD-Vc This link shows the w/c draining and ramping up for its spin cycle: https://youtu.be/l-gp--lpdXk Does anyone have a comparison to know whether this is normal or n…

for 7 weeks my washing machine is leaving clothes soapy. Samsung have been out twice and say it’s fine. It has its own plumbing pipe for drained water and doesn’t have a siphoning problem. The machine is only two years old. I’ve run out of ideas and researching what could be the cause. If I put a load on multiple rinse cycles there is still soapy water coming out at the start of each drain process. I have the pipe into the sink currently. Problem started when the drain pipe was in its usual place and has continued. Any ideas would be really appreciated.

Hello all, I'm trying to get my friends Beko Washer dryer to work properly. Washing - no problem - this is a dryer only issue. The dryer will run for about 35 mins, and then the whole machine trips off. On investigation, fan runs fine - no obstructions in the hot air path, but the temperature sensor in the dryer heater unit was out of spec, and tripping the 175c overtemp cutout, so, I've replaced the sensor and the two cutouts. Now, the dryer seems to act more reasonably - the element switches on and off periodically, and the clothes seem to be drying, but it' still tripping out. Cold water feed is fine, as is the drain pump. I've since learned h…

I have an intergrated Candy washing machine that is displaying the E20 error code. I have tried to remove the filter from the front (bottom) of the machine. The white screw cap comes off but there is some other plastic thing behind the cap that I assume also needs to be unscrewed to get to the filter. There are slots in this other thing and I have put different tools into it to attempt to unscrew it, but it just won’t budge. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Colin.

Hello Hive Mind, New to the site, but sure if this site is still active. I have a query ref my Beko washing machine, it's not taking in the fabric conditioner The filter has been checked and is clear of debris. We have tried doing a 90° wash We have also checked the tray compartment and all looks good. It was cleaned, just to be sure. But can not see anything that would prevent the conditioner being siphoned. Anyone able to help with what maybe causing this issue. Many thanks in advance Rob

My clothes always smelled of softner after a wash and now they don't. I thought we had a problem with the washing machine so bought a new one with new fitting etc and I still have the same issue. Tried water softener, soda crystals etc. But they haven't solved the problem. I am not overloading the washing machine and not putting more than the max level of softner in the draw. Tried different softeners and power as well as the gel but nothing is working. Can anyone help?

Hi, I have an Indesit BWE91683 and for the last couple of days it has stopped spinning at high speed. If I put it on the spin cycle it starts to turn the drum, but only slowly. It changes direction but never speeds up. Also the counter does not start counting down. It does seem to initially rotate the drum faster, then seems to hesitate and slow back down. The machine runs wash cycles fine, its just the spin cycle which has the issue. I thought is might be motor brushes, but have been unable to find any for the machine so assume its a brushless motor. Does anyone have any ideas what the issue could be? Many thanks, Callum

Hi. Quick question. My washing machine doesn't always fill correctly and start the cycle. Pressing start, the washing machine will some times start to fill, stop and start and stop filling. It sounds like a water hammer starting and stopping. Like water running, clunk stop, pause and repeat. If I turn it off and on then press start. It will empty the water in the machine and try to start again. Sometime it will then work perfectly or repeat the problem. If I turn the tap on while it's filling I can see the pressure change while it's attempting to fill and then stop and fill again. Cheers.

Hi All, Greetings from Sri Lanka.!!! I'm a newbie for this forum joined here to seek your good advice. My Washing Machine "LG FC1408S3E" Initially, it displayed an error "tE" which was deemed to be a thermistor error related to heating. A local repair guy thought it was a door error and messed up with the door switch which lead me to replace the door switch. However, After replacing the door switch the tE error was disappeared and the washer was back to normal for a month. Now again I'm seeing this error "tE" Could you guys could kindly advise me on how I could get this problem fixed? Appreciate your support. I have attached a video and an er…

Hello, I recently moved into a new house and am now a proud owner of a Miele W844 washing machine. I have just turned the machine on for its first run this week and have come into a couple of problems which I am hoping to be able to fix myself with some guidance. Problem one - the machine will not go into a spin cycle. Problem 2 - there seems to be a leak at the point where the drain hose is attached to the U-bend. I have just ordered a couple of new carbon brushes and dampers to replace the old ones(hoping this will solve the spin issue). Does anybody have have any other suggestions as to anything else I should be looking out for? Does anyone still own one…

A year after a PCB replacement fixed my previous problem with this washer (thanks again Andy!), I have a new knocking noise that has developed... initially thought it was just something in the drum but can't find anything. https://streamable.com/ttkjhr I've got another video with the back off which I will upload when my google drive syncs...

Hello, I’ve got a Hoover HWB 814 DN1 that is making a noise like it is about to take off. I suspect that it’s bearings that are the issue. It was installed in the house when I moved it and is integrated. I’ve had a good look inside. The strange thing is on a white wash today it looked like it had put speckled spots on my white shirt! It’s ruined now! Could that be the bearing collapsing? I’m trying to work out how old it is and if it is worth repairing it. I’m fairly handy when it comes to repairing things but I remember what a pain replacing a wheel bearing on my car was once upon a time. Is it the same level of difficulty?

I'm having problems with the above code. It seems to stop mid-cycle on any program but can't isolate the problem. I've checked all connections and nothing is obvious. Just before it stops the drum will turn a little bit each way and makes a noise which I imagine brings up the code due to too much current being drawn. I've noticed a slight noise coming from the motor so I'm unsure if there's a problem there. The bearings seem fine as it spins freely with no noise. I've attached a short video of the noise of the motor. Thank you.

I have a Miele washing machine which just died in the middle of a wash. I drained it myself (there was not much water) and opened the door automatically. But now I would like to find out what has happened and, if possible, to fix it myself. There was no noise to suggest something was amiss (it is a quiet machine in general) and I just spotted it was off completely when I passed by it 15 minutes before the end of the 2-hour cycle. It did not blow a fuse and there is nothing up with the plug. I just thought I would post this here any case anyone has any experience of this or suggestions as to what might have happened.

I have bought and replaced the shock absorbers and also bought the 4 drum springs from Miele to change as well while I'm at it as the machine is 12+ years old and in good condition other than the shocks failing a while ago. I have opened up front side of washer and am intending to remove soap dispenser and attendant hoses for access to left side springs. Is there a special tool/knack for removing/replacing the springs. Do I have to lift the drum with ratchet strap to replace springs in which case can the door seal be left in place...

Hi there I noticed after I moved in the washing machine that came with the purchase was taking hours to do some cycles. After researching I can see its buggared but setting 8 does a good 45 minute wash however the temperature is scolding. Weirdly enough no colours are running and I mix colours. Image print doesn't come off really either. My plumber friend opened the cold supply to full as it was half open and hasn't changed the temperature. Anyone had this before and it may not just be the temperature part. The whole thing sounds scrambled!

Hover DYN 9154 DBX When I select a programme the time and temp jumps randomly, I can press time to change say 30 to 45 if I then try and change temp the time will randomly jump to different settings as does the temp, we’ve lived with this problem for a number of years but it’s now getting worse im quite competent at diy etc any help appreciated, I’m guessing it could be the programming board or even a loose wire thanks

I need to remove the door glass for cleaning around the trim. How is the inner white plastic part secured? One screw near the handle and two near the latch but even with them removed it is not free. I assume it is clicked / latched into place but I have no idea where I have to force it apart. Any ideas? Thanks.
