Swellybro
Hello, I’ve got a Hoover HWB 814 DN1 that is making a noise like it is about to take off. I suspect that it’s bearings that are the issue. It was installed in the house when I moved it and is integrated. I’ve had a good look inside. The strange thing is on a white wash today it looked like it had put speckled spots on my white shirt! It’s ruined now! Could that be the bearing collapsing? I’m trying to work out how old it is and if it is worth repairing it. I’m fairly handy when it comes to repairing things but I remember what a pain replacing a wheel bearing on my car was once upon a time. Is it the same level of difficulty? Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted October 26, 2021 Root Admin Report Share Posted October 26, 2021 If it was brown spots it’s likely to be rust from the bearings. It’s a very big job and expensive. I wouldn’t bother tbh. You could see how much Hoover would charge as they have fixed repair prices now but you are like to be looking at at least £100. Swellybro
Hi Andy, Yes brown spots. Almost a polkadot effect 😂 thanks for your reply. Yes I feared that it was a new washing machine time. Those Hisense get decent reviews or the cheaper Bosh units. I’ll head over to the buying part of the forum. thank you for your speedy reply 👍
