Bad times with my Bosch ( I think its a classix, about 5 years old ) Will run the 30 and 40 C wash programs ok but when its on the rinse freshen-up cycle it fills about 4 inches up the glass door and then water comes out from underneath suddenly and quite fast. I put newspaper underneath and the leak is coming from the front / door seal area. I don't see why the machine is leak free on the wash cycles and then leaks on the freshen up cycle. I was told this cycle uses a different solenoid valve which could be leaking!? I did read the leak finding tips guide but the closest possible cause might be a cracked drum? The things always got coins and lighters going around in it.…

Hi. My washing machine wasnt draining properly so after investigation it had 50p stuck in the hose which I have now removed. When I put it all back together and tried to start a new wash it just spins slowly and the wash programme doesn't start. No water comes into the machine, it just spins slowly each way. I've put it on rinse and water comes in and that seems ok. Ive tried to jusy spin but again it just goes slowly each way. It's like it's stuck on one programme. I've tried everything I can think of. . Please help!

New to the forum. Sorry if this is a dumb question. Spider disintigrated on my 12 year old duet, Expect more time than that from an appliance. Are the new Duets any better? If not, is there another brand that uses real metal for the spider material?

Hi, I have a Bosch WFR3268GB thats suddenly started to "yellow" the soap dispener front facia and the main front facia itself. I first noticed this two weeks ago when a boil wash was finished a slight yellowing of the draw assy. I pulled the drawer out of the housing and noticed that the plastic has in fact melted. During the last two weeks of use, the melting is getting worse and as such has damaged the main front facia. I would normally just replace these items, however I've just seen how expensive they are, and the main facia doesn't appear to be available anymore, ie i don't want to replace these for the same thing to happen again. At this time, I'm suspecting the …

I have a hoover optima wmh148df-80. The last successful wash was extremely noisy, especially during the spin. Now it won't start a wash at all. The "door security" light just keeps flashing. I've had a look at the common problems section of your website but couldn't find anyhing. My Beko washing machine will not start. Ready light is on but nothing is working. I have tried the reset sequence, 90 degrees, hold down start button, turn on etc but all that happens is the Ready light comes not. It will not reset. The last time it worked, I think I saw a couple of lights flashing at the end of the cycle (but not 100% sure) as the machine seemed ok so I wasn't really paying attention. I have cleaned the filter, removed 3 hair grips (I don't even use them so really not sure how they got there!!!!). Still nothing Any suggestions.......please!

Hi there,I was wondering if anyone can help me diagnose a problem that I'm having with my Hotpiont WDL540 washer/dryer, it is instantly tripping the rcd as soon as the door is closed. By then pulling the green plastic strap under the machine to open the door again and resetting the rcd, the machine comes on fine, but as soon as is closed, it instantly trips again. Is the door switch the faulty part? Many thanks in advance, Suben

The Candy washing machine which is in our apartment in France gives a satisfactory final spin on the short programme but leaves water in the drum on the longer one. Have checked the filter which is OK. Any pointers gratefully received.

I've got a Bosch Classixx machine (possibly 10 years old) that is sparking and tripping the fuse box whenever it is turned on. I have been trying to isolate the faulty component and have found that the machine doesn't trip when the front cable harness attached the main programme dial is disconnected. The disconnected wires connect the door interlock and the water valves at the back of the machine. I'm getting a resistance reading from the door interlock though nothing from the valves. However, if I reconnect the aforemention wiring harness while the valves are unplugged,, the machine trips once again. When tripping, a spark appears to come from the motor and the motor po…

We had a brand new zanussi delivered two days ago. I hooked it up without removing the transport bolts. It went into the spin cycle and began lurching. We turned it off, and now instead of starting the spin cycle, it just has a soft hum. The machine also stops randomly. We contacted the online store we bought it from and they are going to charge us for the visit and repair, so I'm going to try to fix this myself. Does anyone have any tips on what the problem might be or where I should focus my attention?

Hotpoint WT741. Just managed to replace a broken handle. This involved opening a stuck door by pushing the hook from the back of the interlock. Now the machine works normally and finishes the cycle but will not unlock until it has been unplugged from the mains for about 5 minutes. Turning it off from the button so that all lights go off is not sufficient. Any ideas why? Thanks!

Water starts leaking from my IFB washing machine once I switch it ON. Not even a sigle drop of water goes to the drum instead the water leaks somewhere from the machine and the whole floor gets wet. I can hear the pouring sound but unable to figure out from where it is leaking. Please let me know what could be the reason. Thanks in advance.

This is a continuation of this thread (that topic is now locked) http://www.washerhel.../300-limescale/ Having had my new Miele from about Feb 2007, it got blocked by limescale March 2011 (4 years) So despite using very generous doses of Persil and subsequently Persil concentrated powder (and a hot wash every month as advised in the Miele Manual). It still built up horrendous levels of limescale on predominately 30 degree low temp washes. A Miele engineer had to come out and remove the offending limescale to restore the water flow. He advised using Citric acid every 6 weeks on an empty hot wash. Have used citric acid and it really does remove the limescale fr…

Quite a substantial amount of water is remaining below the rubber as shown in photo. I tried to check if the three holes were blocked - they are not. Filter cleaned. All seems fine. Any suggestions?

Hi guys bought a hoover wmh 168 d from appliance universe online. Had problems with it from day one ! Would not stop in one place no matter how i tried to level it, even used the rubber feet ! it dances all over the place which is a known fact on this model (been told it needs a software update). Now it only allows you to do one cycle programme no matter where the dial is, it just does the one wash (2hrs45mins). Ok so it may need a software update by an engineer (at a cost) i was wondering could i download the software an get a cable an do this upgrade myself ?. What cable would i need ? cheers Jon

I have a Creda w220vw washing machine. When I start a programme (any one on the dial) it will run for a few seconds and then all lights go out and stops. If I turn the dial to off and back to the programme about 20 times it may eventually keep running and finish the programme. In between restarting the programme I have to wait about 10 seconds before turning the dial back to the programme again else the lights do not come back on. The door locks ok and the door lock light comes on. It takes in water ok and drains ok if it manages to get to that part of the programme. It turns ok and spins fine when it keeps running. I have pulled the machine out and emptied the drain fi…

Hello! I have a few weeks old Gorenje that started making a rather loud whining noise. It seems to be less loud when the machine is spinning fast. I've filmed a little video: Also, I tried turning the drum by hand when the machine was off and, while quieter, the noise is there and the faster I spin the more distinct it gets. Is it normal, or is there a problem, and how serious could it be?

Hello kind people, My problem with the above machine is that the drum wont turn during a wash/cycle/spin etc. The machine makes all the usual gurgle noises as if all is normal, but the drum will not turn itself I have checked: The sump pump and the drain hose and emptied out any gunk The belt hasn't snapped and as far I can tell hasn't came off the pulley The drum will turn if you manually turn it with your hand When it was going fine earlier today, there were some concerning noises and it didnt sound great, so I am unsure if it is an electrical fault. I left it off for a while and it turned for about 5 seconds then stopped. Does anyone have any ideas or came abou…

Hello, I am new to this forum but would like to know if any one can make sense of my issue. I have had a beko washing machine for a little over 2 years. During that time, the majority of washes have resulted in black liquid/sludge forming in the crease of the bottom of the front door seal, where there is a small hole. I have tried to clean the washing machine on several occasions but to no avail. Can anyone help me as this is not a new problem for us. Thankyou.

Hi I’ve been having a problem with my washing machine where the belt keeps slipping off after a few washes. I bought this machine from one of those recycle places back last year and it’s been ok up until the last few weeks. I asked my neighbour to have a look at it and he reckons the belts worn. But I’m having trouble finding the same belt as the one that’s currently in there its a 1160 and searching google doesn’t gave me much results the closest I can find is a 1158. Will this size work? Or does it need to be exactly the same as the old belt? Thanks

Hi there I'm hoping someone can help me here. My machine stopped operating and I could not open the door. I unplugged the electric supply, opened the lid to see if I could see anything obvious wrong. At the top right of the machine near a control card there is a loose green wire and I cannot see where this has came from. Does anyone have any advice or a photo of an opened machine that will give me a clue as to where this wire could have came from so that I can possibly fix it Thank you in advance Ralph
