Hi New to this so please be kind. I have the above washing machine about 5 years old (maybe just past the parts guarantee - but hotpoint couldnt tell me if it was even though Im sure I registered). It goes through a wash cycle but stops with the door light flashing quickly and lights 2 and 4 (top to bottom) flashing. There is water in the drum but I can open the door without it all spilling out. I have tried the program which just empties the drum but the level doesn't drop even though the pump seems to be running. Previously I removed and cleaned out the filter which was pretty well bunged up with crud but no objects (coins hairgrips etc). I am thinking that the pump …

Hi there I have a LG washing machine, model WD-14316RD and I have a big problem with lint on clothes after washing. I have made sure that the filter is regularly cleaned and try to clean the inner rubber ring in the machine. However, after washing clothes are full of little fibres. I wiped my hand across the inner drum after the last load and there are loads of tiny bits of lint. Is there a way to get rid of this? I don't seem to have a 'tub clean' function on this model but should I run an empty cycle? I have also been spinning clothes on a slightly gentler spin cycle as otherwise the clothes are so tangled and stretched but I am not sure if this makes a differ…

I have a double socket in the correct position to enable me to plug my washing machine and tumble dryer in. The socket is a fused spur off a double socket at worktop height, the spur is below the worktop. My problem is that I have a feeling that any future tenant with use the dryer and the washer at the same time and blow the fuse. The house is under 10 years old and I would have hoped that two fused spurs would be available for each appliance. Any ideas how to overcome this problem to make safe without major hassle....plugging in my dryer at worktop height looks untidy.

Hello there, I have a Servis 6033 washing machine which needs replacement bearings. I've had a look, and it seems that the drum needs to be lifted out from the top of the machine, is that correct? I have a bearings set, but presumably will need a new drum seal and door seal to complete the job. Any advice will be gratefully received! Many thanks Michael Fitzpatrick

Ok this is an old machine but it works apart from the leak. The leak is from the bottom hose connection with the drum. This connection is a push fit of the hose into the metal drum housing. It leaks because the housing has rusted around the joint, so it cannot be repaired as I see it. Any one else have any ideas. As an aside does buying a S/H Miele make sense, I guess it is down to condition, age and price. Thank you

I moved to a flat in summer, the washing machine only spun and drained if it was a light load i.e if I washed t shirts and tracksuit bottoms and maybe some kitchen towels it was fine, if I did jeans or more than 1 heavy towel or bedsheets it simply didnt drain. I sorted it that time by opening the drain pump filter and loads of pebbles came out and a babies sock(which is a mystery as its about 40 miles to nearest beach) and it worked fine until about 3 weeks ago when the problem came back I have to manually open the filter on the pump which floods the entire kitchen so badly I have to do it little by little so it takes a hour to mop up, after the 2nd time of using it I …

Hi Guys, I am having some difficulty with a Metalflex ZV 446 door switch on a Indesit IWD7145. I found the plug on the switch completely melted the other day and the washing machine had tripped the household electrics. I've got a new switch now & I don't know which terminals of the switch the wires are supposed to go to. There are three cables, two brown and one red, the switch terminals are 2,3 & 4. When I measure the voltages, I get 10V DC switching on one of the brown cores when I try to start the program and the other brown has 240V AC, the red seems to be neutral to earth. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hello, we have a 7 year old Bosch EXXCEL 7. Fot the last few weeks the machine started to move during the spin cycle. Now, the machine first showed fault F21, which I reset, and then fault F63. As it is 7 years old I am wondering if I am better off buying a new washing machine instead of having it repaired. Just getting somebody out to look at it will cost around £65. Does anybody have an idea if the 'moving' of the machine and then the faults f21 and f63 are likely a serious repair? Thanks, Ren

Hello all, I have a top loader that is only 4 years old. Ive had the repair people out to work on the cycle knob binding before and it works for about 6 months and then start to bind when turning the knob left or right. It starts out binding on the left side and then seems to move around to the other side if your just sitting there spinning the knob. Are these one assembly? Are they pretty easy to replace? Anyone know why this is happening and maybe I can dissasemble and repair myself? The knob works but it's just really anyoing when its not turning freely like it should. Thanks

Hi all. I bought a used Indesit WIDXL126 washer drier about a year ago and pretty much from the start the clothes have been smelling after drying. I know i should have said something to the shop but time went buy and was soon out of warranty.I have tried all the Dr Beckmann products (about three different ones) hoping they would work but they haven't. I have narrowed it down to the drying process. If I take the clothes out straight after the wash they are fine, its once they have finished the drying element they develop a strong dirty, pungent smell. Any ideas as to what this could be and how to eradicate this troublesome odour?? Many thanks, Steve

I got the washing machine a few days ago from a friend, she said it works great, no problems. Got it home, did 3 washes, fine. Then did a 60 min wash, started it, walked off, came into kitchen 20 mins later and it was still saying 60 mins with start button flashing. Started again and watched, after about 3 mins into cycle, the machine turned off, no lights or display, after about 10 mins it came on again at start. I've tried it on every cycle, it does the same thing. Once it goes off, the only way to get it to come on again, is to unplug from wall, wait a minute, then plug back in. I've checked filter at bottom, its clear, taken off the back, visually checked all the wi…

We had a small tear in the door seal of our Bosch Logixx causing a small leak. I've managed to changed the seal (with a fair bit of difficulty) but in doing so I've caused a big leak! It seems that the new leak is caused by water running out of the 3 little drainage holes at the bottom of the seal (I've tested it by pouring water directly down them and I heared it trickling though onto the floor). However I can't find any diagrams of internal pics with where this water SHOULD be going - I assume they're just not aligning with a drainage pipe or something similar? I'd rather have some idea of what I'm trying to achieve before I start taking things apart again. Or is …

Hi, I've got a Hoover DYN 9164DPG and today mid cycle it came up with an E03 message. Google says this is a drain problem? I opened the drain filter line and a fair bit of water came out but both the drain line and filter seem to be clear and the pump is turning ok. Even now with the machine fully drained it still won't go on to a spin cycle and the pump keeps running. I took the hose off the pressure switch and that seems clear too. Could the switch itself be broken? Many thanks, Rich.

Hi folks, I have with me a beko WM5100W with an error, but not sure of the fault. On any cycle, I get water pumping into the inlet as norma... Only for around 5 seconds, then it stops filling, and then drains for 1 second then nothing else happens.

I got one for my Beko, an offical one has 2 pins for cables that are enclosed in plastic, this one lacked the plastic over the pins so the pins came off when I attached cable but just popped back in place and seemed a solid connection, I did notice a thin copper hair that wraps around the metal pins that came loose though, I wonder if thats for some sort of ground.

In 99% of the cases I am trying to use the washing machine, it starts pumping in water, makes a couple spins and then the red LED (PC Control) starts blinking and the machine is just dead silent doing nothing. I have checked all filters and nothing is clogged, everything seems just fine. I did open up the top lid of the machine and cleaned all three hoses that was connected to that electrical thing. After that the machine did actually work for about 2-3 washes, but now the same problem is back again.

My beko wm95135lb is 14 months old. For some reason, once it gets to the spin and drain cycle, it spins for about 2 mins, then the timer resets itself by 2 mins, and it repeats the process. The clothes are coming out soaked (but not wet enough that they can be wrung out) Any ideas? There's no issue with drainage because during the was cycle the water drains fine. No idea what it could be! HELP!

Upon reading your troubleshooting guide to this problem, I do not think there is a siphoning problem as nothing has changed as regards drain pipe heights or pipework plumbing arrangement. The inlet valve does not open when the w/m is switched off, the pump works ok when draining although I have also cleaned the filter which contained some gunge & the w/m spins & drains when I shut off the inlet water supply. The problem is that water enters ( through the pre-wash channel as opposed to that of the main wash) & drains via the pump in an unending cycle so that wash cycles are infrequent & on those occasions that a cycle does begin the program-me seems to go…

Good Afternoon, I have a hoover nextra6 HNWL 7166 which is approximately 7 years old, It has been a very faithful workhorse hence I am posting here in the hope that I can give it a new lease of life. A few days ago the condenser tumble drier stopped getting warm during the tumble cycle regardless of duration or temperature set, I tested with nothing in it and still cant feel any warmth around the machine at all, *there was previously warmth during the tumble cycle. However after further investigation there is no heat coming through in the water either, I put it on a very hot wash with nothing in it at all and there is no warmth to the machine, I have read the http:…

Hello, This is a question for Andy really but anyone please contribute. I changed the main bearing on my washing machine during Christmas week. When replacing the motor I carelessly snapped off the rear of the 3 lugs that hold the motor to the outer drum. Do you know of anywhere I could get an outer drum from? Would sticking the lug back on be any good? It does wash and spin but there is an increasingly loud noise at the fastest speed with a fairly heavy load. When this noise starts I stop the washer. What struck me when I was replacing the bearing, was how well made the machine was and how clean and free from limescale the innards were bearing in mind the machine is…
