dryer
I have a double socket in the correct position to enable me to plug my washing machine and tumble dryer in. The socket is a fused spur off a double socket at worktop height, the spur is below the worktop. My problem is that I have a feeling that any future tenant with use the dryer and the washer at the same time and blow the fuse. The house is under 10 years old and I would have hoped that two fused spurs would be available for each appliance. Any ideas how to overcome this problem to make safe without major hassle....plugging in my dryer at worktop height looks untidy.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted March 17, 2015 Root Admin Report Share Posted March 17, 2015 Hello, yes using them both at the same time would definitely seriously overload the socket. The only thing I can think of is to convert it to a single socket and have a separate singe socket installed. It's surprising because they've been installing separate sockets under the worktops for years with a switch above the worktop to turn it on and off and labelled "dishwasher" "washing machine"...
