jackg
Ok this is an old machine but it works apart from the leak. The leak is from the bottom hose connection with the drum. This connection is a push fit of the hose into the metal drum housing. It leaks because the housing has rusted around the joint, so it cannot be repaired as I see it. Any one else have any ideas. As an aside does buying a S/H Miele make sense, I guess it is down to condition, age and price. Thank you
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted March 9, 2015 Root Admin Report Share Posted March 9, 2015 Yes if it's got one of those old vitreous enamel tubs they used to corrode quite badly from the inside out once they got to about 10 to 15 years old. As you say with the second hand Miele it all depends on age condition and price. All I can say is that Miele machines are the best quality you can buy but if they break down they can be very expensive. They are supposedly designed for a 20 year average use life so you should be able to bear that in mind when weighing up the decision. Need a repair or spare parts?
