Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted February 24, 2015 Root Admin Report Share Posted February 24, 2015 It's relatively unusual for a washing machine to get stuck on a wash these days. This is because they all have built-in error code trapping and if something goes wrong they now tend to abort the wash cycle and indicate some error code either directly or by flashing certain lights. There are some anomalies which can allow a washing machine to just stick indefinitely which are mentioned in my article here - washing machine not heating - this article is the most likely to help you not heating is one of the main possibilities. When on the wash cycle a washing machine should be heating up the water and when it reaches the correct temperature it should move on. If it is not moving on it is likely to be because it isn't reaching the correct temperature. And the most likely explanation is that it isn't heating water at all because if the heater was working and it was not moving on than the washing machine should just get hotter and hotter until it boiled. There are other possible explanations so don't get hung up on the idea that it is definitely a heating problem but it is definitely worth reading the above article carefully.
