Hello, I've a 22 year-old washing machine that just suddenly decided it didn't want to play any more. It doesn't appear to be fatally broken - lights still come on, various things click, it still fills and drains... I thought perhaps that the interlock switch might be playing up, and that was preventing it starting a cycle, but I'm not sure that's the case any more. I've ordered some carbon brushes - in the hope that that will fix its apparent inability to spin. Do you think that will do it? It is an old machine, so I don't want to spend lots and lots trying to fix it if it's terminal, but I would prefer to fix than ditch and buy new, if possible. Wh…

Hello, I am moving house and I'll be honest have never installed a washing machine before! In my new house it looks as though there is a big grey pipe which I think would be the waste pipe. When I look at my current washing machine it has a much smaller grey waste pipe which runs under the sink and connects to the pipes under there. My question is-how do connect my small waste pipe to the larger one at my new home? Thank you

Hi, I have a small problem hopefully you can help I have a Candy ROW4956DWMCE-80 (it's a washer dryer so I hope ok on this forum!) I thought the app would tell me when to clean the filter but after almost a year (of 1/2 washes a week) I decided it was overdue. But it won't open. It will only turn about a quarter/third of the way whereas the video on YouTube of a Candy RapidO filter clean shows it turns a couple of full circles to open fully. So I guess it's jammed/something is stuck in it. I've tried rocking the machine a bit gently to see if that dislodged it but no luck so far. Is there any way into it myself? It's not obvious what tho…

My LG washing machine has started making intermittent grinding noises. Almost as if something is slipping inside. Anyone have any clues what that may be? Thanks 🙏🏽 IMG_1987.MOV

So my beko washer dryer has been running for like an hour or 2 after cycles. I've done the usual and checked the drain filter is clear, the pump impeller spins. Is there a way to run diagnostics for fault codes? Or any other direction I can be pointed in?

Hi guys, Do you know why would my washing machine make this noise? I have replaced the belt, shock absorbers and motor brushes as they were super old. It only does this rattling noise when spinning really fast. I check the stone bolts and other parts to see if they are loose. ZWH 7162 J Trips fuse when loading water. This used to happen each time I did a 90 wash. I would leave it a while and restart and it went ok. But yesterday I cut out in a 60 wash. Restarted but tripped again. And again and again. Set it to cold and now it is cutting out immediately when loading water. Cannot even finish the wash on cold. Had to spin and use as is.

Hi There, I have a cheap (OK brand) washing machine that stopped draining about a week ago. I checked the filter and the hose as best I could and saw nothing obvious. I then removed the pump and found a friendly local mechanic who checked with a multi-meter and found it was broken. I ordered a "universal" replacement pump. The plugs used on the old pump couldnt be found anywhere so I had to wire in the new pump using spade crimps. Now when I turn the machine on it fills and washes as normal, and the impeller in the pump spins, but still the machine wont drain. I have no idea what to check next. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I have a Hoover hbwdo8514tahc-80 washing machine that has stopped working and displays an error I can't see any reference to anywhere in the book or on the web! When selecting any cycle (wash or dry) it starts draining, then I hear it fill but can't see water in the drum then I hear the drain gurgle like it's draining and it just stops with an error that is eeo, picture attached... I have checked and cleaned the filter, taken to top off and see that all pipes are connected, any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Good morning, I’m stuck as I’ve previously fixed the washing machine in the past on three occasions by replacing the inlet valve and pump and door seal. However this time the washer starts, fills with water then doesn’t progress so no wash/Spin cycle, the time just hangs. Now I’ve stripped the pump to check for blockages, but I can successfully cancel the program and drain the water out. There isnt any grinding or noise preventing the spin so it’s mustn’t be the the motors as nothing is happening and the belt is on and I when I manually turn the drum it feels fine. I thought about the heating element reading that it won’t progress onto a spin if the water …

Hi I have a 3 year old Bosch wash+dry Exxcel 7/4 (model nr WVH28360GB) which stopped drying around Christmas 2017. Having bought the machine from Wash-House 3 years ago I have all labour included for any repairs abd so called out an engineer. He pulled out a large handful of lint from the fan but could not get the fan to stay running during a drying cycle - it would work for say 5 mins and then stop - thus the heating element cuts outs would pop. A month ago the machine then stopped heating the water, after being informed repair costs for parts would be in the region of £300 (I stopped coughing 10 minutes later) I said thankyou and showed him the door. …

Can someone please tell me what I’m missing that I can’t open this thing? I believe I’m supposed to turn it anti clockwise but it will not budge. Is there something else that needs to be done first? It can’t be this difficult

Hi all, Firstly, apologies if I’ve missed this question when I searched through previous posts. My less than 3 years’ old Beko WDR85854P14N1W washer dryer stopped working then started working intermittently. I called out a local repairer who advised initially the diode needed replacing but when the machine started to work intermittently, he backed away suggesting I get a Beko engineer to fix it. He mentioned, it might be the PCB. (Beko were completely unhelpful, bah!) So, I would like any advice on troubleshooting the issue before I buy a new PCB. Has anyone on this forum come across similar issues with their Beko washer-dryers and can you offer me so…

Hi, my Mother gave me her old Blomberg washing machine, years ago and I have kept the thing running. I think she has replaced her machine 3 times since! Anyway to cut to the chase, I recently managed to burn the armature windings out on the motor. I could just go buy a new machine but I don't see why I should if I cane keep this one going still. The problem is finding a motor for such an old machine. I have even considered re-winding the armature but I am not sure I would even be capable of such a task, so I decided to join this forum, thinking that there may be someone out there who might be able to help me out somehow!? 🙏

Hi everyone, We are having an issue with our Hoover VT815D22X. Sometimes clothing is coming out with damage (fraying, tearing, holes), plus smaller items such as cloths are being pulled into the drum body around the heating element and drain motor and causing drainage issues. I feel that things might be getting caught between the inner drum and outer drum near the door and either being sucked through or staying caught and getting the damage from friction as the drum turns. It is definitely not an issue of overloading, and the inner drum seems to be seated properly and tight enough (I can't feel any play so I don't think it's the bearings going). I can't fin…

I could rotate it only 90 degree. But i can't pull it out. The hand book and the official website doesn't gave more details. This should be a simple thing. But I can't figure out how to open it. Please help me.

This is the washing machine I have! It all started 8 months-1 year after I got this damn thing! I had a basic bush washer for a few years previous, and never had a problem.

I've got a front loader whirlpool that recently started to make rubbing noise in the back. I suspected it be the belt and installed a replacement. This didn't help as is still slipping away and rubbing into the drum. I'm suspecting is a loose bolt holding the drum, but thought I'd ask for an opinion here. Cheers. (Pic attached)

Hi, My 2–3-year-old Hotpoint WMXTF 742 Extra washing making has paused twice mid program in the past 2 weeks. Pressing the start/pause button fixes this, & it completes the program. Can any of you suggest why this might be happening? I just worry that it may get worse. Many thanks.

My washing machine has been tempremental for a while now. We were getting an E07 code (it's a Beko), I therefore removed the hose to the water level sensor and it didn't seem blocked so I got a new sensor as it was cheap. The machine worked perfectly for one cycle with the new sensor, the following cycle the clothes came out soaking wet and then finally it refused to do anything. On removing the back panel of the machine I found a small amount of water pooled around the flood sensor. I dried out the machine and did a cycle. It worked fine however again a small amount of water had returned to the base of the machine. I think I have located the leak to be eminati…

Hi - any suggestions about likely causes of the following issue? This washer is at least 4 years old and had just finished a wash cycle - displaying "end" in the display. All of a sudden, the breaker in the fuse box went pop, and my wife, who was in a neighbouring room, believes she heard it to be louder than usual, followed by a hissing sound. (The breakers and machine are in the same room so with no-one there, it's hard to say whether the machine went pop, or just the breaker. Anyway, the machine no longer shows signs of life: no display. I have read the checklist and checked the fuses (one in the plug, and one further upstream in a wall mounted fuse holder) -…

Hi, We have a Hoover Dynamic Next DXA 68AW3/1-80 washing machine bought in 2016. In general it works fine but it regularly stops mid cycle with no fault indication the display; the only option is to turn it off at the mains and start the program again. This has been happening for at least a couple of years and the fault seems to be completely random, i.e. not on any particular cycle type or at the same place in a cycle, full load or partial load - sometimes the drum is full with water but usually empty. When it stops, rotating the control dial makes the usual little beeps so at least part of the processor is still working but the display doesn't change. I hav…
