Hi all, My trusty old Zanussi has finally given in and I have therefore decided that it's time to treat myself to a new machine. I'm new to this kind of thing as my Zanussi is about 25 years old and therefore things have obviously changed a fair bit since I bought it. I'm a single guy so I don't need to be washing clothes every week which obviously means that the machine will be only subjected to fairly light use. I'd be looking to spend £300 to £350ish (unless there is something for less which will do me for what I need) If I can get one which will last half as long as my Zanussi I'll be happy !! Any pointers would be very much appreciated as I need to get one …

We purchased a new washing machine. There are all sorts of items listed to wash things like towels, bedding, colours, sports clothing, jeans, heavy duty etc. but no where is there a listing about washing white clothes. I've tried the heavy duty wash with hot water, and heavy duty with a pre-soak, but my whites still come out a dingy grey and even the newer whites are starting to turn grey. I miss my white clothes getting white. Please help, am I doing wrong? Thanks

I'm interested to learn how to wash a duvet, not a duvet cover. Previously I've washed my duvet in the bath-tub but it never seems to get it totally white. What's the best way to wash it? Is it possible to cram it into the washing machine and hope the water reduces its volume? Or simply use the bath-tub with washing powder?

I have a neff 6544 with no machine number on any labels. I like to soak my washing for an hour, not using the prewash because that throws away the powder added to the soak. As it is at least 10 years old I no longer have the manual. Neff do not have one in their customer support department. My concern is the best place in the cycle of say 95/60 or 60 (on the right of the attached) to turn the power off and leave the clothes soaking for an hour. What I have discovered is that the soap is washed into the drum at the beginning of the wash, but the drum only builds up with water after the spray sympol on the dial. I am also wondering if the soap should be fed in after the…

Hi all, New here so this if first time posting.. We've been looking at replacing our old washing machine and have been looking at the Samsung models. They seem fairly well priced at the moment and I have been doing a bit of research but have found there are models that look identical, have the same technical specifications on the website but have different model numbers so I'm trying to find out what the product code / model numbers mean. As an example, there is a WF80F5E0W4W and a WF80F5E2W4W model, but I can't find anywhere that says what the 0 or 2 means. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

We have recently purchased a Bosch WAQ28462 Washing Machine and find the instructions supplied are totally inadequate. We have been able find some answers on the Internet. I am sure that we are not the only users who feel we have been sold a gimmicky machine without being told how to use it. Typical of our experience :- (i) the 1400 spin speed appears to be available on a very limited number of programs, but we have no indications which they are . (ii) We are still working to find programs which do not include a "pre-wash" . (iii) We have yet to find out how to do a spin cycle without a rinse. Peter

Hi everyone! I recently moved in on a rented flat that has a washing machine of a brand I've never heard about, it's a "Respekta WA-6118". I found a few pages of the original manual but there's nothing there describing the programs. I only know that it runs from 1 to 13... I don't wanna risk shrinking my clothes or ruin delicate clothing, so does anybody know this model's programs?

Hi. My elderly parents (with incontinence issues) have just bought a Bosch WAQ283S1GB vario perfect. Problem is the quick wash only seems to run for 15 minutes which seems very short to achieve reasonable results. My mother also finds the controls and settings very confusing. I'm hoping I can find a simple way for her to set a quick wash that will cover all contingencies with a short cycle of 30 minutes or so? Has anybody had the same problem and found a solution? Thanks

Hi, My gf and I need a new washing machine as our Hoover has decided to take up smoking! We've more or less decided on a bosch, at around the £300 mark. The only hesitation is about the drum - Is it sealed on this model? We've had a bra strap stuck in an old washing machine and i'd really like to be able to have a go at fixing it should this happen again. What is the definitive answer as to which Bosch machines have sealed drums? I've read conflicting advice on this.

Hi I'm currently renting a property with an LG washing machine. I am keen to know if it is ok to wash cotton items on the synthetic cycle? The cotton wash is over 2 hrs and the cycle seems to spin the clothes very vigorously so I have been washing cotton items on the synthetic cycle which is only 1 hour 15 mins and is much gentler with the clothes. I'm aware that you can't load the machine with as many items on the synthetic wash but is it ok to wash cotton items on a synthetic cycle? Does this cycle still wash cotton clothes (which generally don't have heavy dirt) as well? Or is it still better to use a cotton cycle perhaps with a gentler spin speed? My previou…

Hey folks. First time poster here. We have the above machine and have had it for about 18 months 2 years now, but it has had a horrible black deposit on all the internals of the machine including the soap drawer and chute running down the pipe into the machine for quite some time. It has also left a black sludge on the inside of the door seal. Not only does the inside of the machine smell but it has transferred the smell to the clothes, so they are left with a foisty smell once they are dry. The smell is very pungent and it is horrible as it obviously follows you around everywhere. I have bought Hoovers own brand machine cleaner, but that doesn't seem to work. Yester…

Hi I would be grateful for your help please. Up until now we have always used the pre-set washings cycles on our "Indeset Eco". However, now we need to use a 30 degree wash that is only included for sports ware and not regular clothing. The preset cycles have a 20 and 40 degree wash. When I follow the instructions and set the preferred temperature and spin the number that the PRE-SET dial is set at takes over!! That dial has to be set at SOME number but whatever that number is wins out over my selected personalisation cycle. Can you advise what we are doing wrong please. Thanks a lot John

Hi, I'm buying a new washing machine but I'm concerned about the increasingly smaller water quantities they use, and the effect this has on wash and rinse ability. Would anyone know if this model or Siemens in general have the ability to increase water level during rinse, or at least increase length of rinse and amount of water used? I know LG have a medical rinse option which supposedly increases water rinse volume. Is their anything like this on Siemens?

I live in a soft water area, very soft I think. The recommended dose of say 95ml of powder (non bio) results in the new machine over foaming. I can get a wash down to 2.5ml or 5ml powder used and still get too much foam in the final rinse depending on load. So obviously I have to tailor for the load. Tried another powder and it was worse. Liquid tabs are reasonable on colours but not perfect. Interestingly the suds come up on the first rinse after the first part of the program pumps out the first time, there are no blockages or restrictions. I worked down from Fairies recommended dose to what I have now. The extra rinses I am having to put in are infuriating. So…

Hello All, I have an LG Top load HE washer I bought from BEST BUY about 2 years ago. I have recently noticed after washing my towels and clothes they have a funky oder. I can really smell it on the towels and hand towels after a couple of uses. It's almost like a bad rusty old pipe smell. I don't remember this smell being an issue when I first moved into my home 2 years ago with my new LG. I just started to notice this smell a couple of months ago. I have done everything I know to TUB clean my washer. I've used bleach, cleaning cubes, vinegar....and nothing seems to help. I'm on about the 10th cleaning cycle and the smell is still there. I've even added vinegar …

Hello, I have LG WD12346RD washing machine and this one has cold and hot feed. I was wondering is it possible to run a machine with hot pipe capped? Hi all! I am a cook and often times get a significant amount of bacon grease on my clothing. Would washing these greasy clothes in the same load as my casual clothes or even bed sheets cause a problem (ie greasy smelling bed sheets ) or would the entire load come out fresh and clean? Thanks for the help!

Hello I stay well away from domestics and as the Bosch Avantixx 7, now 3 years old, is in the utility room I hadn't seen my wife operating it until recently. She closed the door by what seemed to me a hefty brutal slam ! "That cant be right" said I. But the reply was "Its always been like that from new". It has held together but I cant say I like it. I had a look but there seems no obvious adjustment to make it easier. Should it be like this? thanks B Wash

Though I pay an insurance on the washing machine, apparently it does not cover the rubber seal which is black with mould. I use a washing machine service wash product on a regular basis, but it did not touch the mould building up inside the seal. Can anyone give me any tips on how to get rid of it, Ive used plenty of elbow grease, magic erasers and other products. I have contacted Indesit and apparently if this was effecting the wash I would be covered by the insurance, but because it is cosmetic thats it.....I wonder do I cancel the insurance.

I have a New Bosche VarioPerfect Waq283S0Gb washing machine and am delighted with how clean it washes, but perplexed at how the rinse cycles work. First time I used the Cottons 60 deg wash, I was sure it only did 2 rinse cycles. I was expecting three which it did on the 40 deg easy care setting. I have just run the 60 deg wash again using aqua plus and was expecting it to do three rinses plus the extra one. However watching the water go in the drawer the third rinse went in the softener section and that was the last rinse. Does anyone have this machine and know how this system works. Many thanks Jay PS Ran the 30 deg easy care and it ran the three rins…
