Hi, I moved into a rental flat about a month ago and found the washing machine full of balls of small debris and smelling quite strongly of mildew. I ran a very hot cycle with vinegar (twice), washed the rubber seal with dish soap and warm water to clean the mildew, cleaned the soap dispenser and behind it, and ran a wash through with baking soda. It still smelled quite strongly, but I put on a first load and it came out with brown and black particles and what looks like sand and dirt as well. Some of the particles can be brushed off, but some leave a blackish-brown mark when scrapped off. I went out and bought soda crystals, ran two loads on very hot. It didn't help…

I've ordered a door seal for my beko washing machine and the part is basically the some as the old one except it has two small tubes on the top of the seal which create two openings through the seal. This is not the drainage holes at the bottom. Do I have the right part or a part I can use?

Hello I have a Miele washing machine Softronic W460 that is about 16 years old. Last year I had a repair done & the chap who did it recorded I think about 8600 hours of use & mentioned the 'water path' which I think he replaced. Now I am having problems again that it isn't always taking the softener from the drawer. This seems to be on a completely random basis. We did explore the inside of the machine and cleaned all the tubes/pipes which were silted up YUK! and put it back together but it hasn't solved the problem. My question, do I get it repaired again at a cost of possibly £80 & hope it lasts another year or should I buy a new washing machi…

Last weekend our washing machine (a Neff W5420X0GB) stopped mid-cycle, with 3 short error beeps. The 'rinse/hold' and 'wash' lights were flashing so I looked it up in the manual to see what it meant - 'Clean detergent solution pump; outlet pipe/drainage hose blocked'. Before attempting to follow the instruction how to sort this, I tried to put the machine through a different programme to see if it was a one-off; no such luck. So I set about trying to sort the problem as instructed in the manual. I drained the water from the drainage hose (wow, there was a lot of water in there!) and moved to the pump cover. All I could manage was a 1/8 turn anti-clockwise and it wouldn't …

Hi, I just fitted a new drain pump in my Bosch Clasixx washer. The drum rotates smoothly and there is no excess noise but there is a small amount of play in the drum. Is this a candidate for new bearings? Cheers, Adam

All lights are flashing, except “rinse”and “cycle complete”, which are steady and three aren’t illuminated at all. it’s starting the cycle and taking the soap from drawer but then this happens. I’ve tried to use a spin cycle only but it still doesn’t work. Relatively new washer, the filter is not blocked. Please help, too many people in house to not have working washer! Washer is an indesit innex water balance plus 8kg 1200 spin. Thank you A83E7C4E-AEFB-4699-B386-269415A3A0EC.MOV

Hi I hope someone can help. Ive owned a Zanussi ZWHB7140P washing machine for 4 years without any issue and last week on a final spin the glass area of the door cracked. I managed to stop the machine with a couple of minutes left on the cycle but upon inspecting it i noticed a large crack through the porthole. There is also a hole at the top and some glass which obviously came out as it started to break. I cant work out what caused this as when opening the door i couldnt find anything in the washing that could have caused this. Anyway i now need to fix this. Is it jus the porthole part i need from Zanussi? How easy is this to fix? I noticed there are diff…

Hi, I have a Bosch WAQ283S0GB washing machine, around 5 years old. We have been getting a lot of marks on clothing recently, and also the wash cycle appears to complete but then gets stuck on 1 minute for ages. A few days ago, I took the door and rubber seal off and gave it a good clean. Then, when I put everything back together, I put a 90 degree wash on with some descaler. I kept an eye on the cycle, and couldn't feel any heat at all (either through the glass or when pausing and feeling the washing). I've just taken the heating element out, and it is totally covered in limescale/gunk! Tested it with a continuity tester and there was no reading at all (che…

My ISE washing machine is blowing all the fuses in my home when it’s switched on. This happened once before about 2 years ago, and is the only problem that I’ve had with this machine. The cause last time was that the Thermistor was shorting due to moisture, this was because there was a lot of fluff from the tumble dryer which was next to it. I’m not sure what the engineer did, but I know he cleared up all the fluff, and maybe dried the Thermistor out somehow, as he did not charge for any parts. There does not appear to be any fluff at all this time, so not sure what could be causing the same problem.

I have a Siemens wi12s140gb SI 12.14 washing machine. This morning I have put a wash on and the cycle has as far as I can tell completed correctly but the door will not open. There are no error codes or lights flashing. I have tried running a spin cycle and an empty cycle but both times it finished but the door is still stuck.

Hi, our machine was displaying a F05 error code. I cleaned out the hose and pump and still showed the code, so bought a new pump and just fitted it. The issue now is although there is no error code the new pump does not seem to be working, as in no water leaving the machine at all. There are no leaks and the rest of a cycle works fine. What would be the next option? Replace the power cable to the pump? Any thoughts or advice would be awesome. thanks aaron

Hi, I've never had a washing machine before and I'm about to get a new one delivered and I just have one question that no one on the internet seems to be answering....I understand that I must connect the water pipe inlet connection to the tap and then turn the tap to the 'On' position, but when my washing machine is turned off and the washing machine stops water from entering, where does all that water go from the tap that is still in 'On' position? ( I know some people turn it off preventing leaks but I'm asking what stops that flow of water from the tap in 'On' position in the first instance - how does it work? What stops usage of water when the washing machine is off …

Hello, we have this washing machine for 8 months, been using every day. A few days back after washing clothes, the drying program didnt do its work. Clothes was still wet, we tried few times more, still same problem. Instruction says check air filters, check water drain filter. As we checked and cleaned everything (i think so), the problem repeats again. Of course, we will go for warranty, but still, what could be the problem?

Hello I have looked at the common problems/troubleshooting section on this site, but the below problem appears to be a different one to those covered there. We have a Bosch washing machine which has worked well for several years. We normally use the same program, 40 degree wash which takes 1 hour 10 minutes. However, for a number of days, on this program it now: i) just washes for 1 hour 10 mins (no rinse/spin etc). The timer counts down to 0.01 ii) then continues to wash with the timer on 0.01 for about 30 minutes iii) the timer then goes to (approx) 45 minutes, and then continues to wash, spin, rinse, spin etc to 0.00, as if on a normal wash. The washing comes ou…

Hi, we have an AEG l75480 washer dryer which has recently developed a fault. When we start a wash the machine fills with water, the timer changes immediately from 20 to 1 then 0...and then nothing else happens. If we don't use the machine for a few days the problem goes away and we can use it again. After a few washes the problem comes back. Ive followed the advice at the top of this forum but nothing seems to work for us. Any ideas?

Hi, I've got a new LG washer/dryer. Yesterday I did a wash and the brass end (is it called an aglet?) of the drawstring on one of my hoodies managed to worm it's way through one of the drain holes in the back of the drum. At the end of the wash, I tried to pull it back through by pulling on the drawstring but it wouldn't budge - the string eventually pulled free from the aglet. I've tried pulling it back through with a pair of pliers but it's going nowhere (or maybe I'm just too weak...) The other end of the drawstring with aglet still attached will slide through the hole with no friction at all, so presumably the rogue aglet was been bent and distorted in some way - it's…

OK Apologies this is a re-post as I'm new and hadn't quite got the hang of it the first time. Seemed filled in my name as the topic. Checked everywhere. Can't find problem described, let alone a solution. Switch on - On/off light comes on. Close door - door light comes on. Nothing else happens. No program lights. No start/pause lights etc. No response to pressing program buttons. Switch off, door remains locked. Releases after about 5-10 minutes. How it started: Rattling noise as machine drained. Skipped through wash cycle and only problem was noise when draining. Everything else fine. Checked drain pump and found loose impeller in d…

I haver a Hoover VTS 715D21X/1-80 washing machine. Wife rang me yesterday in work to tell me the washing machine has gone and there were soapy suds everywhere. I come home drained and took the top and back off. Put the machine back on and sure enough after 5 min soapy suds coming from under the machine to the back (I suspect this is more to do with the angle of the floor). I then switched it off, drained again and put it on its side and looked under neath. where you ahve a concreate weight at the top there is also one at the front just under the door. This was soaked and had water running down it. Am I correct in assuming this is most likely a door seal gone? My…

Hello all, I have looked at the common problems page and not found a specific answer to my query. A few months ago, both me and my wife started to feel itchy so I started to look at what we used for washing clothes. When I iron clothes after washing or use a towel, I can feel a film on my hands. I have tried various things: Switched from gel pods to powder. Halved the amount of powder used. Switched to non-biological. I got a set of towels washed at a dry cleaners and they came back feeling fine. New clothes feel fine until they are washed. The machine is four years old. My working cause is that I changed from powder to gel pods in the last year. We mostly do washes …

Hi, this is probably a stupid question but i casn't seem to remove the dispenser on my Indesit IWME 127 washing machine, i have read the manual which seems to show that i push up on the right side and pull out, i also seen a youtube video that also seemed to show this, something doesn't seem to want to come out on the right side though. Both manual and youtube both seemed to show that this can be done gently and it shouldnt need to force it, i felt like i nearly was forcing it though and didn't want to damage it, so thought i'd ask here. Does anyone have one that could let me know? Regards James
