Cannotthinkofagoodusername
Hi, we have an AEG l75480 washer dryer which has recently developed a fault. When we start a wash the machine fills with water, the timer changes immediately from 20 to 1 then 0...and then nothing else happens. If we don't use the machine for a few days the problem goes away and we can use it again. After a few washes the problem comes back. Ive followed the advice at the top of this forum but nothing seems to work for us. Any ideas?
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted February 10, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted February 10, 2017 If there was a blockage trapping air in the pressure chamber bottle it can slowly escape over a while. It could explain it working ok later but to be honest it's quite a long shot though. It could be anything. If you want to look at how the pressure system works start here How a washing machine controls water levels If it was a pressure system problem I'd expect it to cause issues on the previous wash though. Or even if it started up during the wash cycle. Next time it does it try to observe how long it fills up for. Does it fill for longer or shorter than normal? Can you see water rising in the drum, does the level get fairly high before it goes wrong? Is the water pumping out OK (check the pump filter). Need a repair or spare parts? Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted November 16, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted November 16, 2017 Someone sent me an email saying they had the same model and same symptoms and fixed it by cleaning out the drain pump (Washing Machine Pump Filter) Need a repair or spare parts? nic
hi @Cannotthinkofagoodusername, did you find a solution to your problem? I have exactly that problem but i've cleaned the filter (with a few stones from my sons' pockets) and it's no better. I tried two drying programmes and the rince/spin and all of them go straight to 1 minute, whether i set it on timed or on drying level, and then stop. I'm wondering if it might be something like a humidity sensor, but no error code is coming up so i'm really in the dark. Any pointers?
