Hello, my washer stopped mid cycle, i thought it had been put on pause, so i pressed pause again , but nothing happened. I turned the machine off at the wall, after a minute or so the door unlocked, luckily there was no water spillage, but the clothes were still very heavy with water, i left the machine turned off until the following day, i hoped it may reset it somehow. I switched the washer on, and it returned back to the 'paused' looking state, and also was sounding like the cycle had been placed into paused mode, i have tried it on different wash settings, also i have tried to carry out the reset/ diagnostic tool, but it is stuck, also the lig…

Our good old Electrolux ecovalve 1087 switched off during its usual cycle today. Now I've got it back to starting a new cycle and it won't start. Just sits there. Delicates/cold/500/quickwash - timer lights up, 27 minutes as usual, starts counting down (it is at 25 now) but no sounds, no water coming in. Appears dead. So I suppose it is not operating the input valve solenoid, for a start. So with no water coming in it'll never go to the next stage will it? I'm thinking. So that could be the only problem - failed solenoid. Would that be right? Is it something I could fix?

I've just recently moved home and my washing machine was working fine before I moved and I set it up in my new home, I put it on a cycle and it seems to stop around the last 10 minutes, it comes up saying empty pump , which I have done a few times and afterwards it just goes quiet and doesn't finish the cycle I cant think what more I can do to try and fix it , would be great if someone knew how I can fix this problem. Oh and it's a whirlpool machine.

Hello, My Hotpoint WMF560P UK R washing machine programme knob has suddenly stopped working. The knob isn't broken as it still goes round but it no longer clicks to select a programme and annoyingly has got stuck on a programme that isn't much use. I've taken the washing machine apart but can't see anything obvious wrong with the knob. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Will replacing the knob solve my issue?Or is there any way of getting it stuck on the programme I need? We're planning to get a new washing machine once some building work is completed in about 3 months so it would be great if we could get this working for now to see us through. Thank you in a…

Hi to everyone, this is my first post and hope there's an answer to my problem. My machine washes without any problem but when it comes to the spin I have to leave it for an hour before I can get it to do a short spin. The long spin starts to build up speed a few times then ends program. It's as if something is getting overheated during the wash cycle but what I don't know. I have renewed the carbon brushes thinking this would solve the problem to no avail.Could you tell me what the censor on the end of the motor does ? Motor: C.E.Set Hope to find the solution from one of you guy's Thank's in advance

My WT741/2P started with error F11 so I replaced the pump and checked that there were no blockages ANYWHERE! Then started getting F05 error, so replaced the Presuure Switch. I'm still getting F05. Checking for dodgy wiring i noticed the mains supressor filter is black/burnt on the live terminal and the connector melted. But the machine still is working. The wires are still connected so power is getting through. I'm getting fed up chasing my tail with replacement parts. So the question is - if it's getting power surely the pump would be receiving power too. Would replacing this part also be a waste of time. Obviously if i can find where the fault is with the…

Hi. I have an old Neff washing machine, model W4380X1GB/01. The door seal was mouldy so I purchased a new part and (seemingly successfully) fitted it at the weekend. Ran the machine on a cycle and there were no problems so congratulated myself on a job well done. However when I next came to do a wash, the door open button on the machine would not function. I then took the front back off the machine to try and identify the problem. My, admittedly untrained, assessment is that the problem is linked to a cable which ties into the door interlock mechanism but is now not connected at the other end. This appeared to be the case when I took off the front panel but I now sus…

Hi, I have a Hotpoint WMAQF641 AQUARIUS, not long had it but recently kept showing an F15 error which i believe is to do with pump. for a while when msg showed i could stop machine and start again manually and set it to spin + drain. after a few days the pump propeller stopped, leaving water in machine so it would not drain and spin. I have had the pump out and someone connected it for me outside machine and it worked and spun, but as soon as i put the pump back into washing machine it does not propel. doe's this mean the problem is with the computer then not the pump. I would of been happier if the pump was faulty then at least I'd know for sure. Cheers N…

Hi, Our Bosch Bosch WAQ28461GB_WH is nearing the end of it's two year guarantee. For the last month the washing machine powers off during the cycle - no lights illuminated. We then switched it off and on at the mains and it resumes from where it left off. I contacted Bosch, but they mention there will be a £95 charge if they find no fault with the machine. Have you ever come across this before? It was mentioned to try another power-supply but this will prove extremely difficult due the pipe setup. Appreciate your time. Thanks, Mark

I've just purchased a very old Miele washing machine (W460) as a cheap replacement for another machine that recently gave up. Upon connecting the inlet hose to the cold water pipe, water gushes out from beneath the copper connector, down onto the waterproof box. Could this be a simple washer problem, or perhaps corrosion on the connector? I've taken some photos but am having problems uploading. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Trying to keep costs to a minimum, so fingers crossed there's a relatively simple solution. I have checked the troubleshooting page but can't find an answer to this particular problem. Many thanks.

HI all, my washing machine has developed a fault and I have basically narrowed it down to either the selector switch or the pcb, any advice please Basically when I select a wash program it's doing strange things on some programs it starts to fill but then empties and the dial starts going round and round on other programmes it fills does it's wash but then won't move on to drain and spin cycles. If I don't put it on a wash cycle but put it on a rinse or spin cycle it works as it should, this is what makes me think it's a problem with pcb or selector switch Any advice please Cheers Damon

Beko 71442 I've got an intermittent problem with the door unlocking on my machine, and like cars I know the intermittent problems are the hardest to solve! When starting a programme, the door locks fine, but sometimes after the programme has finished, the door does not unlock. The padlock icon on the display just continues to flash (whereas normally it extinguishes after a minute and the door opens). When the door won't unlock, what I do is put the machine on a spin or drain programme and then once that finishes, the door usually unlocks ok. I've done a bit of reading on this and I guess my machine has a door interlock with bi-metallic strip rather than o…

Hi all, I've just spent the last couple of days working through all the advice in the troubleshooting, and learned an awful lot about the innards of my washer in the process. Unfortunately, I still can't seem to resolve my problem... Whirlpool AWOE 8759 B - The washer stopped mid-cycle (before draining) and displayed the F02 error code as well as the red grid symbol. This has happened before and it's usually caused by bits of junk blocking the impeller. After manually draining and checking the impeller I couldn't find anything causing an obstruction so I tried the washer again. From this point forward I was able to get it to start a spin cycle, although it would then …

Hi, I have Bosch Exxcel washer dryer model number WVD2452BGB /04. It is just coming up to 6 years old and this morning it decided to stop working. I normally run the machine's cotton eco programme which takes around 1hr and 30 minutes. However when I went to check on it, I noticed that the drum was still full of water and foam despite the timer displaying 1 minute remaining. The cycle continued to overrun by 20 minutes until I manually stopped it by turning the dial to off. From what I observed, the drum was at turning at same slow speed and at no point did the pump kick in to drain the water. I then tried the rinse programme and was met with complete silence - no pum…

Hi, I have a Beko WM5120W washing machine that is currently at fault, and sadly is out of warranty. There were a few minor issues which have now become greater. Initially, the only issue was that it would make a terrible noise whilst washing or spinning, this turned out to be a coin which I removed from the bottom outlet. The next issue is the one which has now caused the main problem. The start button was not working, and seemed to be broken behind the button itself. I removed the panel, found the fault (the piece of plastic that connects between the button and the PCB was snapped), and glued it back in place. While I was putting the PCB and panel back together, I not…

I have a Hotpoint WMF760. I didn’t originally plumb it in when new. There were 2 water feeds available (it was connected to blue) and a drop pipe for the outlet pipe to hook over. About 1 year ago (when it was 4 years old) it stopped pumping water out. I diagnosed the outlet pipe had clogged and damage the drainage pump. I cleared the pipe and changed the drainage pump and it has worked fine ever since. Last month we moved house. I plumbed it in myself. This time it was under a sink. I took the outlet pipe off to clean it (I was going to get new one but couldn’t quickly find one with a 90 degree connection to the pump) and get a jubilee clip to ensure it doesn’t pop off …

Hi This 8kg wash/5kg dryer (1400rpm max) seems to have an issue. When I run it empty with just some detergent it runs fine and doesn't vibrate, even at e.g. 1200rpm When I wash anything in it e.g. 3 thin old towels the wash cycle runs fine but the spin cycle causes vibration from side to side even when I just run the machine at 1000rpm. The transit bolts have been removed as otherwise I assume that if they hadn't even the empty machine would vibrate. It used to be able to wash whatever and spin at 1200 or even 1400 without issue. thoughts? it replaced a smaller capacity different brand machine that never had this issue (I can't correct the title - the machine is a H…

Hi, I have a Smeg washing machine, WM63141BK, which I bought a couple of months ago second hand. Yesterday it began reporting an error 4 (which I believe to be a thermister fault according to a document on the Smeg website). It begins the program, takes in water, makes a churning noise without the drum rotating then a few minutes later shows error 4 and stops. It will not complete any wash or spin cycles, only drain. I tested the thermister and it appears to be working. Initially reading 26KOhms at room temperature, dropping to 19K in warm water and rising beyond 26K in iced water. I've also tested the heating element for continuity - there is continuity between the …

The m/c starts the washing cycle and tries to fill with water. Then it stops and the symbol of a tap with a line striking through appears. When you press the start button again the cycle carries on. It does this randomly, so you never know when it will happen and it may also do the same on the rinse cycle. Sometimes it doesn't do it at all and carries on through, but its becoming more often now that it stops. I've checked the hose and filter and plenty of pressure on the system. Anyone with an idea to the problem? cheers.

The noise starts just before the first spin and continues at the same rate through the first part of the wash. It spins with no problem and the noise does not change. Seems to fill with water well and otherwise cleaning and rinsing well. Noise stops when water draining, all fine when filling for rinse then starts again just before spinning.
