abrogard
Our good old Electrolux ecovalve 1087 switched off during its usual cycle today. Now I've got it back to starting a new cycle and it won't start. Just sits there. Delicates/cold/500/quickwash - timer lights up, 27 minutes as usual, starts counting down (it is at 25 now) but no sounds, no water coming in. Appears dead. So I suppose it is not operating the input valve solenoid, for a start. So with no water coming in it'll never go to the next stage will it? I'm thinking. So that could be the only problem - failed solenoid. Would that be right? Is it something I could fix?
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted May 13, 2016 Root Admin Report Share Posted May 13, 2016 If you suspect the fault is caused by not being able to take in any water then go through this article thoroughly to try and work out if there is anything you can do - no water coming into washing machine However, it may be something more serious. Normally, unless it's a very old washing machine, if it can't take in any water it should timeout after several minutes and abort the program. It should also produce an error code. It's very easy for modern washing machines to be able to detect a filling problem. They simply tell the valve to let water in and then start timing. If it hasn't received the signal that the correct level of water is inside the drum within a preset time limit it will know something is wrong and abort with the error code. So if your washing machine isn't doing this, it seems unlikely that it is something as simple as a problem with getting water into the machine. However if it is quite an old washing machine it is possible it may not have any software running to monitor and indicate an error codes. Need a repair or spare parts?
