I have a recently found water seeping from underneath my washing machine. The leak is at the back where there appears to be some sponge padding wrapped round an open ended tube that is near the floor. The tube has grit and debris in it . This is located at the side of the washing machine by the motor. The sponge is stuck to the side of the WM. I was told by another forum that in all probability it is the pump that has gone and that is why it can take several hours and sometimes days for the leak to appear. I have been away for three weeks and the washing machine has not been used in that time and the water to the house has been switched off. i turned the water on…

HiFolks I have a Miele W820 Washing Machine that's approximately 17 years old and is now not starting it's cycle (ie does not commence filling) on some Program Settings, but is ok on others. The machine starts correctly in the following positions: - In the 'Cottons' programs the 70,80&90 deg C positions work (not 30,40,50&60) - In the 'Minimum Iron' programs the 40,50&60 work (not 30) - In the 'Delicates' programs only the Cold works (not 30,40,50&60) - In the 'Woolens' programs only 40 works (not Cold & 30) - None of Starch, Spin, Drain & Quick Wash programs work They didn't all fail simultaneously & there seemed to be some in…

AEG Lavatmat 52810 Machine works fine on the slow wash cycle and normal rinse and spin cycles. Problem occurs about 1/2 way during the wash cycle, when the drum turns quite fast. At this point the machine sort of has a 'heart attack'. It jolts a bit and makes a loud squeeking noise - sort of like the squeals of brakes in a car when suddenly push foot hard down on the brakes when driving fast (If this makes sense). Then stops that spin. If left alone, it continues with the cycle. Until the next fast spin during the wash cycle. All other cycles work normally. No noise from the mchine. No movement of the machine. The Spin cycle, even on 1200 works with …

Humbly hoping that someone can offer me some guidance please. Our 2 year old Zanussi ZWH6160P started tripping the main RCD on the consumer panel twice each wash then it stopped tripping the RCD but I noticed that it was not heating the water. So I took out the heating element and tested the resistance, which looks fine at 34 ohms, I then took out the Heat Sensor which is one of those bullet ones inserted into the element and that had a resistance of 4800 ohms, I dipped it in hot water and the resistance went down, so I am assuming that is also OK. Really not sure what else it could be? I don't won't to start throwing new money after old it it is going to be something ma…

Hi, Recently, our washing machine has started causing our white sheets to have some grey marks on when they come out of the machine. They are like thin grey lines in creases, almost like something has left a residue. Maybe oil from the machine somewhere? Can the sheets get behind any seals anywhere, perhaps? It only happens with our sheets, we've never noticed it with a normal clothes wash. We have used the Miele maintenance wash powder on a very hot cycle recently, and given the whole insides a good scrub down, to try and clear any problems, but still getting them. Anyone had anything similar, or got any idea what it could be?

I have the above mentioned Indesit WB111 1100 which is approx. 6 and a half years old. A couple of days ago the washing was still wet when we emptied the drum. Now the washer starts to fill and then stops, the green wash cycle LED is on constant and nothing happens. I have checked the drain filter and that did have some coins in it which I've cleaned out Please could anyone help before I call an engineer before xmas!! Many Thanks Simon

Hi, My Aquacycle just gave up in the middle of a wash. It was making pretty horrible noises, then stopped and tripped the electrics. When I turn it on, it trips again. When I emptied its was obviously overloaded. Time for a new one? Mick

Hello All, We have a Hotpoint Aquarius WDF740 washer/dryer. Last month we had central heating installed. Before that, we had the main water tank in the loft (which was used for cold water for the shower and supplied water to the immersion heater tank), as well as an immersion heater tank for hot water. Now there are no tanks as we have the combi boiler. Since then something very annoying is happening. Everything is fine during the wash cycle. But during the drying cycle every 30 seconds or so there is a bang/click in the pipework around the whole house, with visible movement if you look at the pipes (I opened the shower we have installed inside the wall s…

Bosch washing machine started tripping circuit breaker during normal hot wash. It drains ok, spins ok, does a cold wash ok, but part way into a hot cycle it trips trip switch and water never heats up, so I assumed it was a dodgy heating element. I opened it up, removed heating element and multimeter reads 26 ohms across its live/neutral pins. My calculation is (220 x 220v) / 2000W = 24.2 ohms, so it's pretty close. No continuity between live/neutral and earth. Thermostat/temp probe is reading around 5 ohms, with multimeter dial at 20k, and falls with rising temp if I warm it up, so seems to be working too. If it's not the heating element or temp. sensor …

Desperately looking for solutions - express cycle 20 mins ok, spin cycle 7mins ok, automatic plus 89mins stopped halfway. could it be the circuit board? I realised if the washer runs for more than a hour it will shut automatically and it will only start/turn on after few mins resting. Such a pity to dispose a 5yrs washer. any opinions?

My parents have just ordered a new Bosch washing machine, I've had a read of the online manual and it stated that the nozzle should be a minimum height of 60cm from ground level for adequate drainage ( presumably ) . I have measured the current nozzle height ( plumbing under the sink ) and it is 50cm from floor level, I have attempted to purchase an angled nozzle to bring the height up but am not having much success. I need 40mm diameter and all I can find are the standard nozzles which won't give me increased height. Any suggestions please of where I can get a 40mm angled nozzle and if 50cm from floor drainage would cause problems thanks

Hi, i have recently discovered a fault with my Bosch Exxcel washer /dryer. i can start a wash, it performs the cycle - but when it gets to the end of the cycle it stays at 1min remaining and the the machine won't finish which is quite frustrating. (often there is water still in the machine) i have found a work around whereby when the machine gets stuck - i just turn off and then put on 15 min rinse / spin cycle & for the time being that seems to clear issue up - but this is tedious to do every time i want to use my machine i have to be present at the end of the cycle to switch modes. I have looked at the filter (at the bottom right of machine) for …

Hi, I have checked the FAQ section and I can't find any answer that will help me. I have had a Miele W3922 WPS for about 10 years now which has been working brilliantly. I moved house into a new build which is a shared ownership with housing association, and one of the eco elements they have included is a water flow restrictor under the sink. It appears to be connected only to the sink taps, and those are restricted so that the flow is abysmal. Elsewhere in the house the water flow is fine. It's become clear that since moving here the machine is no longer rinsing clothes properly. Each wash I have to do an additional rinse to get rid of the suds (dilute but pre…

Hi all, new here to the forum. I have a bosch max classic WF0285SGB/01 It stopped turning spinning etc, like the usual when the carbon brushes have come to their end of life. So I went ahead and replaced the brushes as to be expected the brushes were not connecting to the motor commutator. I then went ahead and reinstalled the motor and put the belt back on. Tried a spin cycle and the motor started to make a hum noise and the lights dimmed a little while this was happening. I could hear the relays etc turn on and off. So I thought I might have put the belt on wrong. So for testing purposes I removed the belt and tried the same without it. Same thing happened. So…

I want to share this repair tip, I worked for me 100% Somehow a kitchen knife got into a wash. God knows how the knife then managed to work its way between the inner metal drum and outer plastic drum. Fortunately I found the bit of the plastic that had been punched out by the knife. After research online I decided to try a product called Plast Aid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkTSpmS1zXY Its simple to use. I placed the broken off bit of plastic, back into position, this filled most of the hole. I then used Plast Aid, covering the damaged area. I was able to get the Plast Aid applied over both sides of the repair. Inside and Outside the drum. I used t…

Hoping someone can help me. I have a 6 year old ISE 10. Put a wash on last night and it stopped half way through full of water with fault F1 flashing. I know that the company has gone bankrupt and as such my 10 year warranty is worth nothing but I need to get it fixed. Don't want to get just anyone and pay £150 or whatever only to find they can't get parts or not repairable. Help please does anyone know of a repair person who is familiar with ISE in the Glasgow area. I have kids and no way can I live without a washing machine for long. Is it fixable or is it ready for the bin. Its also full of water and too heavy to lift. Hopefully someone knows a solution.

hi, I have a Zanussi fr1250s, when switched on there are no lights and the door lock just keeps locking and unlocking, is this a door interlock fault, which I can probably change myself, or is it more serious, i.e., something to do with the main circuit board, any advice appreciated. Thanks, Paul.

Hi, this is my first post, I hope it's ok to dive right in and ask for help!? I have an LG F1443KD washing machine with what seems to be bad suspension, the drum sits back and at the front, with the door open I can get my hand between the drum and seal. It's not leaking, just won't spin, it just goes out of balance and switches off. I stripped it in the hope I would find a broken spring but all looks well, so am a little perplexed! I wonder if the back spring could be weak? Any ideas would be greatfully recieved :-) Peter

I have the indesit washing machine. when it reaches SPIN there is a terrible mechanical racket from it, also water appears to be leaking from the back of the drum and dripping onto the motor as the motor is turning the drum. I have taken the back / and top cover off but I cannot see anything obvious or hanging off. I am wondering if the fault is within the drum sealed unit??? Can anyone suggest anything??

My Bosch Classixx washing machine (WAE24164GB) developed a leak. On inspection I found that the sump hose had a small hole in it so I replaced it. After a trial wash it was fine but then started leaking again after that. Similar hole had been worn in the new sump hose in the same place. So I can only assume that it's rubbing on something but the hose seems in decent clearance - the nearest thing is a tie wrap on the drum?!?!? Anyone else experienced this type of problem. I don't want to replace the sump hose again until I get to the bottom of things properly. Any help gratefully accepted :-)
