alexscott18
Hi, i have recently discovered a fault with my Bosch Exxcel washer /dryer. i can start a wash, it performs the cycle - but when it gets to the end of the cycle it stays at 1min remaining and the the machine won't finish which is quite frustrating. (often there is water still in the machine) i have found a work around whereby when the machine gets stuck - i just turn off and then put on 15 min rinse / spin cycle & for the time being that seems to clear issue up - but this is tedious to do every time i want to use my machine i have to be present at the end of the cycle to switch modes. I have looked at the filter (at the bottom right of machine) for any blockages - but there weren't any as far as i could see and the impeller turned ok. if there was a blockage then why does the machine drain ok on the spin / rinse cycles but not on the main colours, whites / cottons washes ? Any help would be appreciated? I am quite competent fixing things so happy to replace parts if i know what is actually at fault. thanks Kind regards Alex
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted February 20, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted February 20, 2017 Does the wash cycle finish in the normal time before sticking on 1 minute remaining? Is the laundry coming out clean? Sticking on the last minute can be tricky to diagnose. Heating element going open circuit, pressure system faults or blockages are some potential causes. alexscott18
Tonight I checked if there was a blockage again in the filter - but there wasn't. I also checked the hose - but that was clear too. I then ran the machine on a super quick cycle & the machine went thru normal cycle but didn't spin and got stuck at 1 min with water in machine. I then switched it to the spin /drain cycle. Machine drained alotbo dirty liquid from Washing and the spun more out. When the cycle finished - buzzed sounded to so door was ok to open. I then put the machine on to an intensive dry cycle - for 30mins - which seemed to have a effect of some sorts. Clothes were still damp / wet but were soaking like the were at end of previous cycle. It is all very puzzling indeed ! My model no is : WVD24520GB/01 machine is a Bosch Exxcel washer /Dryer. Thanks Alex
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted February 21, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted February 21, 2017 I'm trying to work out if there's a problem draining the water. If it doesn't spin when laundry is inside there will always be water in the drum from the laundry. Try it again on the super quick cycle without any laundry. When it finishes has it pumped all the water away OK? Need a repair or spare parts? alexscott18
i ran the machine last night empty at 80 deg for a special cycle to clean the machine (with a special machine cleaner / descaler) and that seemed fine. (machine did everything it was supposed to - wash, rinse spin etc and program finished on time. so with this in mind i then put on a cottons wash at 60 deg - for specified 1hr 25mins. and guess what !! it got stuck at 1 min left again at the end of cycle. i then switched to rinse function (15min) and the machine completed this cycle with no issues. Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted February 24, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted February 24, 2017 It's not easy to make sense of it. Faults that cause malfunctions should normally affect all cycles. When you put it on the second time on the cottons wash at 60 did you have laundry in or not? Need a repair or spare parts?
