The 3 bars on the inside of the washing machine drum that push the clothes round have fallen off. Is this repairable? They look like they were stuck on not screwed or clipped so i am unsure if this is worth fixing?

Hello, I found this forum and am hoping that someone can help advise me what is wrong with, and how to fix a 12 year old hotpoint aquarius 1000.Yesterday we did 2 washes and noticed that the machine was very noisy when spinning which we put down to an unbalanced load, but today the same noise was there and when the load was taken out we noticed what appear to be small bits of black plastic which look as if they have broken off something. I assume they were part of some piece that is involved with the drum spinning, some sort of bearing. I would be most grateful if someone more knowledgeable could help me fix it. Thankyou, Mark Allen. South Wales.

Hello, I have a nicely running Zanussi T 1023 V. It has a spinning problem. Some observations - washing works fine - pumping works fine - when it comes to spinning, the initial back-and-forth cycle works, but when it should speed up, it breaks after 5 seconds and jumps to the next program part (pump again) this happens twice, then the spinning programs terminates witghout spinning. - this does not depend on load: empty machine behaves equally, even (a cruel test with disconnected belt (i.e. no vibrartion at all) the motor speeds only for a very short time before giving up. do you have any troubleshooting hints for me? thx, Eric

I am the at the moment the not so proud owner of a Siemens WM16S460FG/14 washing machine, purchased in Belgium 3 years ago, right before moving to India for my job. Reasoning at the time was that Siemens has an international repair service and is established there too. Nothing can happen, right?.....WRONG! 3 weeks ago my machine failed with errors F:61 and F:34, the door had to be opened using the emergency procedure. I called BSH India, who do the repairs. Well, the model is not available in India and they had absolutely no clue what the error messages mean. I called up Belgium, they told me both messages were related to the door lock safety. Ordering a replacemen…

Hi all. We recently bought a new Hoover DYN 8164 washer after 13 years of faultless service from another Hoover. We're pleased with this washer, but sometimes it has a serious balance problem and I'm convinced it's a design/software fault. It doesn't happen every time, but occasionally the washer can literally leave the ground and hit the worktop above it.....at which point obviously we turn it off (usually you can tell by listening and catch it beforehand). The reason I think it's a design fault is because during the pre-spin cycles, when the washer is checking for balance before revving up, it never stops rotating to allow the clothes to drop and redistribute. It doe…

Hi, We have a Hoover Special Edition HSE 236 washing machine and for some reason it will not dispense conditioner from the middle compartment of the drawer. We have cleaned out the drawer even the syphon arrangement in the soft rinse comp and still no joy. There are two small hoses from the solonoid valves to the inlets of the dispenser, could the solonoids be the problem. Water only seems to enter the left hand compartment, I assume water gets to the right hand compartment but no water at all enters the middle section where the soft rinse is. It is a cold water fill only. Please help. Thanks Peter O'Halloran

Whirlpool washing machine: Model w120 Motor: CESET MCA52/64 - 148 IRN1 7 Pin connector Pin 1 : Yellow, Pin 2: Grey, Pin 3: Black - These three pins shows continuity to each other. Pin 4: Blue, Pin 5 : White, These two pins shows Continuity to each other. If I disconnect one of the carbon brush connector then no continuity between pin 4 and 5 Pin 6 and 7: RED, they shows continuity of 4 ohms. I do not have an insulator tester. How can I test if the motor is OK using an analogue multimeter ?

This error started with no warning and symptoms include failing to go into Drain or Spin. Hence, wash cycle fails to complete. Buzzing noise heard from behind Control panel. Machine is relatively new and has had no problems to date. Had a good look round inside but no obvious leaks, breaks, loose connections or faults. Can anyone help with advice how to resolve please as repair quotes are ridiculous ! Thanks !

I have AEG Lavamat Turbo washer dryer which is only two years old. It has never been the best of machines (result quite poor etc) and now has stopped taking the fabric conditioner. I have cleaned the compartment with a brush and descaler and I have given the same treatment to the water holes inside the slot, but no improvement. Unfortunately the conditioner cannot be added manually either as even if I pause the programme, the door doesn't open during the rinse. Is there anything else I could try? I've been using Calgon regularly. Thanks for all help. There's no answer for thsi in any Troubleshootings. Tanja

Hi, I have an 11 yr old hotpoint aquarius WM63 (so it dosent owe me anything!) It has started tripping the rcd. It has had a couple of brush replacements on the motor in its time and a door catch mech. The trip occurs very quickly upon starting the wash program, after a split second of letting the water in. When taking the wire loom off the motor, it will continue to fill- so I guessed it was a dodgy motor. I have replaced the brushes (no help), taken the motor / armature out, cleaned, checked continuities etc. Armature / commutator appears ok, brushes are sliding in / out ok, all to no avail. I wonder if anyone has any suggestions, other than to get rid. I am happy to …

Hi, I have a Siemens XL1600 that has just developed a fault, it will go through the cycle but the timer goes to 0 once it comes time for it to spin. I have checked the motor and basically the brushes had worn down the virtually nothing, I have replaced them but still does not spin, tried giving it a spin by hand during the cycle and that made no difference. I'm guessing the arcing of the worn brushes has caused a fault in something else. There are 8 pins in the motor connection but only 7 are used. Does any body have any diagnostics I could run with a ohm meter to check for faults - I beleive it may be the same as the motor used in Bosch machines....It is a nice machi…

have a 7.5kg LG washer. Clothes smell abit when washed, Machine runs to end of cycle. we have just noticed that the water is not heating up. Water drains away ok, as it always has. Is it an easy job to replace the heating element, and is it difficult to get to. Or could there be a more simple reason why it is not heating the water up.

Hi, i have just brought a 2nd hand Zanussi WDJ 1094 Jet Stream washer dryer, it washes fine but when i put it into dryer mode water squirts from the cold water valve.\r\nThere are 2 valves on the cold inlet the one at the bottom has a black hoses about 12 dia, this goes to a square plastic box at the back of the soap drawer, this has an 12mm opening coming from it that looks as thought there should be a pipe attached to it but there isnt. any way when i put the dryer on water spurts from this opening. any one know why ?

Just used my Zanussi washer/dryer and there was a light, metallic, rattling/clattering noise as the wash/rinse cycle ended and it started to spin. I stopped the machine and when it was empty I pushed the drum lightly and it moved freely although still rattled. Switched it on briefly to spin whilst empty and it works OK but the rattling persists. My first thought was 'bearings' but I know I forgot to empty the pockets of a pair of trousers because the load I removed when the problem became apparent was covered in shredded paper. Is there a possibility of the noise being caused by a coin/coins or by some other metallic object which may have been in the pocket(I'm missing a …

Hi - We have a Hotpoint WD440 which expels water from its dispenser drawer, usually during the rinse stages. It starts trying to spin (or 'balance') when it's still full of water, forcing it back up to the drawer. On other occasions it just stops, with water in the drum, and won't continue until switched off and back on. This seems to happen when it wants to empty. It doesn't always occur, and the pump does get the water out. (Not quickly enough, perhaps ?) These symptoms don't always accompany each other - it varies. The pipework and drain it empties into aren't blocked, and its hose looks OK. There are no flashing or extinguished lights when it stalls. Should I be pu…

Hi, I have a Daewoo DWD-F1251s washing machine and I'm a bit stumped as to what's wrong with it! The washer starts it's cycle as normal by selecting programme and then filling with water, however, when it get's to the normal filling capacity the water stops as normal then there is a pause and the water starts coming in again but this time fills the machine so it floods out.. I then have to switch it off and back on 'sometimes it still keeps filling' and then put it into drain mode, even then the washer continues to fill so has to be turned off at the tap. I have tried replacing the water pressure sensor with a new one but this didn't resolve anything.. My next move is t…

Hi I just found this website after my washer needed repairs and I was googling for information. I finally (long story) got a bloke out to look at it and he said the drum was knackered, and I need a new one. Well repairs would cost about £110 so it wasn't really worth it. I should've asked him at the time but I never thought - is it safe to use this washer till I get a new one? It'll take me a week or maybe two to get that sorted. The washer still does a wash and the clothes are fine but it makes a loud knocking sound when it's washing as if something is loose inside. I didn't use it while I was waiting for a repair man to look at it in case it caused even more dam…

Hello everyone. New to the forum. I have been having an issue with my tricity bendix aw1201w recently. Basically, once program was started the cycle would stop mid way. I then was able to drain water through the drain pipe housed behind the door where the filter trap is. Once done, I wasnt always able to start a new cycle immediately, but after lets say an hour I could start a new program. Anyway, the same problem would occur, program would start, washine machine fills with water but program stops and water wont drain. I pulled a few things apart today to have a look. When blowing through the waste pipe the opposite way to see if there was a block I was getting resistan…

My Partner has moved her washing machine over to my house, Its a Servis washer, after owning a Hoover washer for the last 10 years the first thing i noticed is that the machine keeps topping up with water all the way throught the wash cycle (90mins or so), i asked my partner if she had noticed this before and she could'nt remember. with my old machine it topped up 5 or 6 times at the start of the wash and that was it till rinsing started. With the Servis washer i'm a litte concerned why it is topping up all the time and wonder how the water will ever reach the desired temperature when its always adding cold water, i know its a 7kg drum but surely should'nt use so much wat…
