I have a WD440 Hotpoint and recently all the lights started flashing and it wouldn't respond to any controls (so couldn't wash anything). Tried upplugging from the mains for several hours, to no avail. Took back off and cleared the lower rear filter. Still no joy. In the end, after much fiddling with the combination of controls and button presses I realised that if I left it with all the dials pointing up and flashing away for several hours, all the lights went off and it was usable again. However, after each wash all the lights start flashing again and I have to repeat the process of putting the dials to the top and waiting for hours. Getting a bit annoying. Is ther…

Hi. Greetings from the colonies ! I'm in Australia but info is thin on the ground and I'm hoping some help from the 'old country' can assist me. I have an Ariston AQXXF 129 front loading washing machine. The machine will start a wash cycle OK. Water can been seen / felt being drawn in. However when it changes to the rinse / spin cycle an Error message : H2O is displayed on the LCD. Research suggests that this relates to a problem with water in / water out. I don't think it's drawing water when switching to spin cycle as I can neither feel or hear water in the pipes then. I've checked the pipes and there are no blocks, issues with water pressure / FOD in the filter. I…

Hi, Would anyone be able to help diagnose the fault with my Samsung WF8602NGW washing machine. The machine turns on and I can select a programme to use but when I press the start button there is a short pause and I get a flashing "dE" error code along with four audible beeps and the machine fails to start a cycle. I have searched around and all I can find is the error relates to a door open error, so I have purchased and fitted a new door switch (the one that fixes to the body of the machine that the door latch fits into) but this hasn't made a difference to the error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dave

Hi - 1st post, so please be gentle! I suspect there is a heater issue with my Hoover Nextra HNL2126. I have read your general questions on faults. The water stays at ambient temp whatever temp is programmed. even on a 90 degree wash. The door only has a single glazed so you should be able to feel it get hot. It has definitely felt hot in the past. I did google the problem and it seems I should get an error code (flashing lights) if there was an issue with the element or thermostat. Is it worth fitting a new element or do you think there may be something else? Thanks for your help

Please help I have a Servis M6854W 1400 which has stopped doing a cycle/rinse/spin - anything to do with the drum rotating. Am guessing it's the motor. I have an old Servis M6003 1300 in the shed which has a temperature problem. Can anyone tell me if I can use the M6003 motor on the M6854w. It fits and the pulley on the motor is in the correct position but I am worried about the wiring as the wires are different colours on both. It has the same amount of wires and the connections are the same. Can it damage the motor or the washing machine if I try it. I have been cleaning up the M6003 and found a broken wire on the thermostat - the machine was washing at a boiling temper…

I have contacted various suppliers of Bosch spares who tell me that the retaining bolts and the rubber washers/ spacers that hold the concrete block (that comes as a kit) is obsolete and no longer available. The block is loose and bounces around. I believe that the same construction was used for a number of machines. Seems a shame to scrap the machine for the want of some washers. Is there something I can do?

Hello, I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WM64 washing machine for the last ten years. It has been a reliable, but recently the top spin cycle (1200 rpm) has been slower than usual and therefore not being able to dry my clothes properly. Sometimes the clothes are almost dripping wet, but other times they are very damp like they have been spun at around 400 rpm speed. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Hello, My washing machine made a loud strange noise about a short time after turning on. It was not a continuous noise, it is very hard to describe but the best I can do is a humming clicking noise repeating every few seconds. I turned off the power and it continued. 5 minutes later i noticed water leaking and turned off the mains supply too but the noise continued. I did notice that hot water was dribbling in the dispenser. After draining all the water we took the machine apart and found the door seal has a split in. This has now been replaced. And water does not leak. I was able to successfully do one wash load but on the second wash load the noise happened again. …

I switched on my Zanussi washer dryer today and instead of coming up with the usual display of the time for the cycle, it beeped three times with the timer flashing zero and the "door unlocked" symbol showing. After about 10 seconds it beeps three times again, with the timer flashing zero constantly. This is exactly what the machine does at the end of its cycle before the door is opened... I've tried opening and shutting the door a few times, to try to tell it the cycle has finished. I've tried switching it off and back on. I've tried pressing the start/ stop button (and every other button). I've tried unplugging it and leaving it off for a while to clear any memory. N…

Can anyone advise me on replaceing the Drum Bearings on a Zanussi ZWD16581W. I have mangaed to get the Tub out, however it looks like the 2 sections have been glued together so ther is no way of seperating them. Does this mean that the bearings cannot be replaced? Thanks

I have a LG Direct Drive washing machine and have been seeing sludge type marks on clothing after washing on normal temperature washes. I have cleaned the machine on 95 degree washes with bleach but problem persists. Is this a machine fault of a drainage type fault?

I have an Indesit WITL-105 washing machine which I bought 2 years ago. When the technician installed it he said that the filter is behind the plastic cover at the bottom and it needs to be changed every few months. When I later opened it I didn't find a filter that can be changed, only a cap that's screwed in. A few months ago (for the first time) the washing machine completely shut down during a load of laundry. All the lights turned off and I was able to open the lid. It turned out to be full of water so I unscrewed the cap at the bottom and it drained a few gallons of water. The cap had no dirt or anything clogging it. After draining the water the washing machin…

Hi, I have an indesit wil103 and it wont start. The red light is flashing but when I press the start button the green lights come on for about a second a then go off and nothing happens. When I turned it off at the mains and left it for a while then turned it back on it automatically does a very quick cycle where the water goes straight through and then it goes into a really fast spin cycle for about 5 minutes then stops and then returns to the red light flashing and it wont start. I thought it may have been the PCB board but I have replaced it but it hasn't made a difference. the mechanical side of it seems fine as when it does spin (after turning mains off) it seems fin…

Hi All, I have an issue with our Hotpoint Aquarius WM62P tripping out the RCD. It happens within a couple of seconds of selecting any function/wash cycle/spin. I think it's safe to say not the motor as it won't even fill with water, I assume there's no heater as it's hot and cold fed. Everything seems nice and dry and nothing visible like worn insulation causing a short. This only seems to leave the door lock switch or the main control unit. If I have power on, a wash cycle selected but the door open it seems fine. As soon as I shut the door - trip. Does this suggest it's the door switch? Or is it only when the door is shut that the main control unit receives power …

I have a Zanussi ZWF1221W which has given good service, however just recently it has developed a problem whereby the powder drawer (main wash section - don't generally use prewash)is not cleared by the incoming water and leaves a fairly large dollop of solidified powder at the front of the drawer. I have tried prodding the water holes above the drawer but they don't seem to be blocked. I have not altered the water pressure on the main so can't see the water pressure being an issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Zanussi ZWF 1421W, 10 yrs old. A few years ago it started to fail to drain, warning light and flashing. I did a manual drain, after which the cycle continues. It got more and more frequent. I found the sump float ball gunged up with grey slime, after cleaning this out, all went well for a while. Now it's happening almost every wash. The pump still works, but something is telling it not to run, and I'm not sure what. Could it be to do with the float not dropping down? Does the pressure switch influence whether the pump will run or not? Hope this is clear, hopefully someone can help me understand! Many thanks.

I have an integrated Bosch washing machine (FXI2840GB) which starts a cycle and doesn't finish. In fact, it doesn't really do anything. It has a LCD which shows that it carries out the first two minutes of the program, but then skips to the last minute without anything happening. It does make some clicking noises that I'm familiar with from the normal operation of the machine, but that's it really. Nothing else happens. It doesn't take water in, it won't run a spin cycle. Nothing. I'd be very grateful for any help. Thanks Mark

Hi, Yesterday we discovered your Zanussi F1225 (frontal loading) stopped before the final spin. We were able to open the door normally. The drum won't turn (even a millimeter). And the belt is broken. What could be the problem? The "drum doors" that have remained in the open position? A little object stuck in the mechanism ? How can I access to the drum on this model ? Thanks.

Went to put the washing on, door locked but the cycle failed to start. I have since managed to get the door open but whenever I turn the machine back on with the door open their is a continuous clicking sound as if it is wanting to lock the door. When I then close the door it locks immediately but the cycle again doesn't start. I would be very grateful for any advice.

I have an Indesit WIXXL106EU machine which had badly worn bearings. The machine is finally apart after struggling with the bearings severely stuck to the shaft. I thought I'd be able to identify suitable replacement parts, but I'm getting conflicting information. The printed user control panel proudly states 7kg load, but I'm sure the tub/drum is 6kg based upon the model no. ie, 106=1000spin, 6kg load. Which is it? Spider shaft is 30mm. Front bearing is 30mm, rear bearing 25mm. Bearings are nos. 6206 (front) 6205 (rear). Rear tub has "Ø30" embossed in the thermoplastic. I can't locate a suitable spider and bearing kit anywhere. Can anyone point me in the right direc…

Hi, any advise appreciated. Our Bosch washer got through most of the cycle, but stopped short of the spin cycle I think, as clothes inside were very wet still - and very heavy load. Apparently there was a fault code F43 on the display (according to wife), but now there is no display message. The control dial lights up, but only the first machine cycle (to left or right direction) and then this is only the temperature and spin speed indicators and nothing else will work. If the dial is moved to different wash cycles nothing changes. Any ideas on how to test further or what this could indicate? Thanks Dom
