Hoover Vision HD - VHD 9143 ZD Washing Machine What Happened I put in a big heavy carpet rug that probably shouldnt have gone in, but it fit in so I did. After pulling it out, it was a complete mess and I binned it. I also noticed that it was covered in a lacquer kind of gluey substance that was also present on the inside of the main glass door. I did 2-3 empty full temperature washes hoping it would pass, in the end I scrubbed it off with a sponge because it stayed. Then on the next wash of normal cloths, it seemed fine, but the cloths were covered in this lacquer type gluey stuff. So I put the same load back in a further 2-3 times but still it had this gluey s…

Hi, I have an intermittent drainage problem with my Candy GO482 2/80 machine which has recently been getting worse to the point where its no longer usable. The machine stops when it gets to the drain part of the cycle and displays the error code for not draining in the allowable time (3 flashes). The problem seems to be worse on colder and shorter washes although it may be my imagination... I've read all the help pages as well as a lot of googling and I've tried the following but still with no luck - any help would be appreciated! 1 - checked all hoses for blockages, all clear - drain it flows into is clear too. 2 - blown down pressure switch tube, seems ok 3 - rep…

Hi there, my Miele WT2670 has started tripping whatever circuit it is on. This happens on the default temperature for the cottons cycle which I think is 60 degrees. If I turn the temp down to 30 degrees (which I know I should be doing anyway!) then it doesn't seem to happen (I am testing this today). Would I be correct in thinking this is going to be something to do with the heating element and if so is this an easy thing for a competent DIYer (that's me!) to sort out? I haven't had a look inside the machine yet to see if there's any obvious problem, that's my next step. Many thanks in advance... James

I have the above washing machine and the drum bearings are going home fast. This model number is subdivided into several product numbers and when I check the usual sources of supply for replacement bearings, quoting the supplementary product number of my machine, I find they are not supplied - I suspect because the tub halves are sealed together instead of bolted (I have checked this by taking off the top and there are no bolts holding the halves together). I have changed bearings on washing machines a couple of times in the past and I am sure I did not have to separate the tub, I managed to do it without. Is it possible at all to replace the bearings on this model wi…

Our machine is a few years old now and apart from its spin, "jumpiness" as referred to in your review, has been totally reliable - up until now. A couple of days ago the machine just stopped. It appeared to be moving from the prewash phase to the main wash and just stopped. The door glass appeared to be warm, though not too warm, suggesting the heater was working fine, then I noticed the little "padlock" light was out. The only light on was the second one down green led for "wash". Assuming this was a door interlock fault, I've just fitted a new one (surprisingly quick job - I should have known better) and reconnected the machine and it is still the same! There d…

I ve got an error c9 on my aeg machine. The repairer came, here is what you can try to reset the electronic of the washing machine: press at the same time the two first buttons ( pre washing and soaking) And turn the button one time to the left (delicate spin drying). Wait few seconds, everything should be reset now. Good luck!

hi all - im new here so be gentle with me -- what i have is a bush A126Q washine machine that has been transported without the bolts in and im not even sure it was working before removal but now its not working the machine powers up and sounds like its gonna start but no water enters the drum - I put a meter across the terminals of the inlet valves and as soon as you turn the program dial to any position all four terminals read 240 volts but when dials is in off position there is no power to inlet valves - I thought only one or two should read 240 v so is this normal ? or should I be looking elsewhere for the fault ---- any help appreciated cheers

Hello, I have read many posts that sound like my problem but none seem to quite fit with my situation. If put on to wash, machine will fill and then make 2 slow rotations. It will then just sit like this, no heating or washing. Put to spin, it will pump out ok, drum will make 2 rotations then sit like this forever with drain pump running If i move the drum slightly, it will make 2 slow rotations and then just sit. Each time I move the drum slightly I produce these couple of slow rotations. A multimeter on the motor brush contacts shows 24 volts when 2 rotations are made but no other current to them unless I move the drum and get repeat of 24volts & 2 rotations. M…

Hi, I've been reading your forum which i must say is extremley informative. Whilst looking for a replacement washer/Dryer reading reviews the John Lewis JLM1403 Seamed to have good reviews. We contact John Lewis with regards their on line offer of three years warranty, but non available as the model had been discontinued. However we found an alternative supplier on line and purchased. for 25 months we've been very satisfied with machine until last week when it developed an very loud noise when spinning. After reading your forum I've looked into the fault, which appears to be drum bearing failure. Unfortunately my model has sealed drum where the bearing cannot be replac…

Hi My Bosch Exxcel 1600 washing machine keeps sticking on the wash cycle. The timer will count down to 1 minute but it's still washing and not moving to the rinse cycle. The first wash of the day always seems fine but it goes wrong with the second. I've just done a load with a prewash and the prewash was OK but it got stuck at the normal wash. The only thing I can do after this is to put it on the spin cycle to empty it and drain the clothes a bit and then do the rinse/freshen up cycle to rinse then spin. All of this works fine. I've checked the filter at the front (by draining with the little pipe, removing the cap and checking there's nothing in there and that th…

We have a Bosch Classixx 6 and it has a problem. We can set the dial for the programme, select the spin, and press the start button ----- and nothing. We turn it off from the machine and wall, try again, same response. We open and close the door - same again. After a few attempts, it finally starts, and continues without further issue. Can anybody give me an idea of what to check before having to call out an engineer?? Thanks Dave

Hi there, A couple of days ago I put a load into my De Dietrich and went out. When I came home the error code F08 was displayed. We tried a couple of times to get it to work but it would fill and then drain itself, showing the dreaded F08 code. As the machine is out of warranty my husband figured 'nothing ventured, nothing gained' and had a look at the machine himself. The belt was on ok, but then my husband had a look at the brushes, one of which seemed to be 'bent' out of position. He bent it back and refitted. The machine then ran a full cycle (on empty) with no problems spinning. Today, I have tried to wash a load. I put a fairly light load in, the machine filled…

Washing machine has been moved into new house. Have checked for blanking plates etc and even taken out the pump and put it back in. No water pumps out. But a odd one here when i took out the pump to check it i check the black pipe from the drum to the pump and there is a ball in there?? about the size of a small ping pong ball? I have not removed it yet as not sue how the sod it would have got in there hence don't know if its meant to be there? Any ideas on this? Oh and it doesn't drain lol (assuming it its the pump)

Hi, not sure if this or repairs was the right forum for this... I have a Aquarius 1000 Deluxe 9537 which seems to be flushing out the conditioner with the main wash, meaning that later on when the conditioner is supposed to be washed in, it isn't. I've cleaned out the drawer and conditioner tray and tried to spy on what's happening during the wash. I think the water for the pre-wash compartment is flushing over the top of the conditioner tray. Also the conditioner tray is full of water at the end of the cycle so I don't think it's syphoning out correctly. Any suggestions to fix this appreciated.

I own a Bosch washing machine WAA28160GB/04 and for a while the washer has been either heating the water to boiling point or not warm enough for the wash or just cold. The 40C wash would boil and the 30c wash would be nearly cold. The heating of the water would be erratic depending on the program. I naturally thought the fault was with the thermostat of which I have recently replaced. The water heating is not as erratic as before but the washes are still too hot or too cold for the program. Could this be a fault with the PCB or some other component?

Hi, Id be very appreciative of any advice. My Zanussi machine has stopped. The drum appeared to have dropped and did kind of lift back into place but the drum wouldnt turn from the inside, or it would but very stiff. I took the back off to find a snapped rubber belt on the floor. So obviously I need a new belt but will this fix the stiff drum problem? Many thanks

Hi folks, I would appreciate some help with solving this problem if possible When starting any cycle the machine fills with water as normal. The inlet valve solenoid then pulses open and closed throughout the wash cycle, resulting in an overfill. Even on the spin cycle the inlet solenoid is pulsing open and closed and is letting water in. I have checked the pressure tube for leaks and replaced the pressure switch for a new one. I can empty the drum of water by putting it on a spin cycle, the pump will eventually empty the drum even though the inlet valve is still pulsing. I did notice something odd today, when the programme selector was in the off position one of th…

I have a beko washing machine which refused to spin. I looked it up on the Internet and decided the brushes were worn so I ordered new and my husband replaced them. That was about 6 weeks ago. The machine was only about 2 and a half years old. It had been well looked after and not abused washing wise. I did a wash last week and I heard several loud bangs from the utility room, I went to see right away and there was burning and black smoke coming from the machine. I turned everything off and took the back off. The smoke was coming from the motor area. My husband looked and one of the new brushes was all burnt. He is confident he replaced them correctly and they were good …

Hi, My washing machine stops during the wash cycle with soapy water in. If I then put it on pump/spin, it pumps the water out in under a minute, but does not continue to spin. It just turns the drum slowly a few times. I hear a periodic vibration and noise which I would say is the pump still working, but there is no water left to pump. My only idea is that there is a sensor or electronic fault of some kind. Any tips welcome!

Hi, Bit of a poser for you all. I've got an Indesit WIDL126, 1200 washer dryer. It's been here since we moved in a year ago and works well. Recently it's started making a proper racket on the final spin when it gets up to full speed. A banging which is deafening, just for a few minutes then it's fine, or sometimes it continues for the whole final spin. It hasn't effected peformance yet but obviously it's not wise to ignore a loud sound! I've taken various bits off to explore, and done lots of internetting to learn what it could be. Likely culprits being an obstruction between drums, or the dreaded bearings. So far I've found a mangled pound coin in the sump filter, a…

Hi I have read the Hoover 1100 problems similar to this and disconnected the pressure switch tube, no change. The machine is emptying, it starts to try and spin up, I hear a relay click then click again and it stops for a few moments and tries again. Motor is working in both directions. Any help appreciated.

Hi everyone I have had my hotpoint WT640 for around 5 years and until recently it has been fine. It has a digital counter display and the machine seems to freeze during cycles and can often stay frozen for 10 mins or longer and not do anything. It also only works on certain programs now, doesn't always spin the clothes thoroughly and it will complete a cycle then go back to the middle or beginning of the cycle to repeat it! I don't want to replace the machine as I like it but is it possible for me to fix this or is it better to replace it? Thanks in advance
