Hi, My Grans washing machine recently stopped working. It was in mid wash when we heard a bang & the machine stopped. The rubber seal looks to have come off & the machine wouldn't spin. It will spin by hand though. Does anyone know what could have caused this? Or how to have it working again? Thanks in advance.

Hi I have an AEG L64850LE washing machine that tripped the RCD. As I didn't know at what stage of the cycle this happened I reset the RCD, the machine then started it's cycle, filled with water ok, then tripped again. After going through the basic checks and tests it showed that the heater element had an open circuit and faulty, this has now been replaced and tested with a genuine part. On turning the machine on and turning the dial to the desired programme the display lights up as normal but when the start/stop button is pressed nothing happens, not even hearing the door lock engage, there is a light that flashes above the button but this normal until it starts it c…

Got a Siement Siwamat 5040 second hand - been trying to figure out how to use it without ruining my clothing but - it's still a learning loop and all my stuff is coming out WRINKLED. Does anyone have in their possession the knowledge or the manual on how to use a gentle cycle without all the wrinkles? When I attempt to move the dial to the necessary temp and program the dial just moves all around without stopping and the program does not engage. Thanks for any help. This is an emergency because I cannot lose any more clothing to not knowing how this machine operates and all attempts at finding the manual online have failed.

Hi all, Obviously, my washing machine has broken - that's kinda why I'm here! However, extensive googling and reading of repair advice websites has left me with nowhere to turn as I have yet to see a similar problem presented. Hoover VTS 712 D21. When turned on, it initially works exactly as expected. The programmes are all selectable and the display correctly shows the time expected for the programme selected. The door locks and water can be heard entering the machine on a wash cycle and draining on a drain cycle. After approx. 1 minute (is it possible the trigger is the count-down timer changing?) the machine loses all power. The LED light next to the start button and…

Especially loud on a light load, sounds like the drum or something is hitting the casing....usually refuses to spin on light load. Could this be the shock absorbers? I tried to remove what looked to be the worst of the two as moving the drum showed a lot of up and down movement on it....I could only free the bottom securing pin but once I did I could easily slide the inner metal tube up and down within the plastic outer housing tube, I'm guessing this isn't normal and that some resistance should be there to act as a damper? Top weight is secure and from what I can see/feel so is front weight, both drum holder springs are attached and in good order. No grinding whe tur…

I had a leak from my washing machine so I it put it on its side to look for it and it looked like it was coming from somewhere near the filter. But after removing the filter unit I could find no signs of anything wrong. Then after some more looking I found a small hose has come lose. It connects the drainage pipe with the soap dispenser unit. Its the one that goes from the drainage pipe (there is like a small plastic tank near the top that one end of it is connected to) and the other end goes up to the soap dispenser unit. That end had come off. None of the ends have clips and also for some reason the hose went over the top of other hoses connecting to the soap dispenser …

Hi, My Bush washing machine A147QW was stopped in middle of washing cycle. Initially the 1st(start/pause) button was stuck, but able to complete wash cycle. After some days the the washing machine is stopped in the middle of the cycle. Now the 1st(start/pause) button is not lit up at all. If I press any buttone(1st, 2nd , 3rd, 4th) , the 2nd, 3rd, 4th button is lit up at same time around 7 times, difficult to count exactly because blinking too fast. The program ready light is always lit up. Could you please let me know where might be the issue.

Hi, My washer/dryer (Indesit IWDE126) overheated last Friday night - was on a 40 degree wash and just started steaming. I turned it off pretty quickly, but it had got pretty hot (I couldn't handle the clothes). It now starts ok, but stops mid-cycle with the 2 right-hand most lights (extra rinse and spin selector) flashing. Where do I start bug chasing? Thanks, James [ I've seen something saying that these lights add up to error code 3 =relates to the NTC the water temperature sensor, check the connections and replace if required. Does that sound right?] (I've checked the coin catcher, empty; there doesn't seem to be any lint catcher to clear; I've run it wi…

Hi, I have a Hoover WMH 168d Washing machine, The drum stopped turning last week so inspected the motor and found one of the carbon brush needed replacing, it started working again but now it doesn't stop spinning when placed on spin cycle the timer display counts down from 7 minutes and sticks on 1 minute continually also speed increases when it hits the 1 minute mark and motor brushed spark, ive found a work around to this is to manually change speed down by pressing spin speed selector button down from 1600 to zero then machine spin cycle will finally finish, the 1 min remaining display will then change too show the end display. also there is a 29 min rapid wash cyc…

I think our Bosch Classixx 1000 Express might not be heating the water because the washing is coming out stone cold even after a 60 deg. wash. I'm sure it used to feel slightly warm on removal but I'm beginning to wonder if I am imagining this! I have checked the manual but it says nothing about rinse temperature. The cycle is working normally otherwise. Is there any way I can check whether there is a fault? It's a few years old now and out of its guarantee. Thanks.

Hi, I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season in good health! Very luckily and by the skin of my teeth, I got this very lovely Hotpoint Supermatic 1400 from 1961. I'm still a bit overwhelmed! It's in amazing condition both internally and externally considering it is 55 years old next year. It even came with the very rare worktop that very seldom came along with this machine. Apart from requiring the usual tidy up and hose replacement the machine only has one issue that I think will be hard to remedy. The spinner lid support brackets need replacement as one is entirely disintegrated and the other is corroded. Why oh why did Hotpoint have to use an alloy for …

Folks, Hi, I'm new to this forum... thanks for any help! I've just heard about a fault with my sister's Indesit washing machine. I haven't yet seen it, and don't even know the model number... However a quick bit of research seems to indicate that it's probably a pump fault.. (F - 05), and water remains in the machine. Now I realise that it could be something else, but I have a simple question... If manage to fix it, either by unblocking pipework, or, if necessary, replacing the pump, do I need to somehow "Reset" so the error code is no longer displayed? If so, how? Many thanks in advance, Regards, Simsy

Hi, my 2 year old beko has just been reinstated in our kitchen after a year in storage. Everything seemed to be working well until I noticed my kitchen was in inch deep in water. Eventually found it to be pouring from a 1cm thick, black hose near front of machine, underneath. Is this the emergency drainage pipe? It's sticking out with nothing on the end of it (should it be capped?) and it seems to be the o ly place the machine will drain from. Should it be attached underneath, maybe pulled out in transit? Or is there a switch to stop it coming out of this pipe. All seems to be plumbed in properly, otherwise! Please, any help would be amazing, I need to do some washing wit…

Last night my Bosch washing machine suddenly started making the most incredible noise during a fast spin. It was on a 30 degree synthetics program and doing its final spin. I live in a bungalow and the washing machine is right in a room at the furthest end of the house - I can't normally hear it even on fast spin. But last night - even with the TV on loud we heard this incredible shaking noise - we thought it was the heating gone in to overdrive but in fact on investigation the Bosch was spinning at such turbo charged speeds that it was making a racket. However no rumbles or grinding noises - nothing to suggest bearing issues - its literally like someone came in and s…

Hi folks, hope you can offer a bit of advice. I've had a wee look around and the advice seems pretty good in here! I've got a washing machine that almost lets no water in the drawer. Result is almost no water in the machine. Manual says it should take a total of 51L overall... no chance! I've performed a few checks: Water inlet valve / hose - no problems, good pressure, good flow. Filter in back of washing machine inlet - no problem, clean - took out and cleaned anyway. I noticed when I took the filter out that there is what looks like a black rubber stopper with a small hole in right at the back of the inlet on the washing machine. I'm wondering if this should be th…

I have an elderly Hotpoint Aquarius WMA33 washing machine. It works fine during "wash" cycles and water pumps out okay but on "rinse and spin" water gushes out of the soap powder dispenser. It happens after the rinsing phase; just as the spin phase begins. When I tried it with the soap dispenser removed, I could see the water was coming back up from the drum - and there's quite a lot of it. At the same time there is a small amount of water coming out of the rear drain-pipe, so the pump appears to be working. Any ideas?

We bought a Samsung WA48H7400A and trying to figure out what we are doing wrong. Occasionally, the load will get to spin cycle and will sit there indefinitely. It sounds like the drum is draining, but it never spins. This has happened approximately 4 out 20 of the last loads. This last time, it sat overnight and was stuck at 11 minutes to go in the cycle. I can't figure out what is causing this. These loads are clothing that don't fill half of the drum. Any help is appreciated.

Hello, i have a problem with my beko washing machine. Machine constantly filling and discharging water, no wash action at all. After force finish machine is in the loop again, discharging water, ending for a second and discharging again. No matter what program machine is set to, it is the same reaction. Exception is the drain program which give me no reaction at all. After the service test washing machine display code 04 17. Engineer who test my appliance told me the problem is the main PCB board. I ordered new main PCB part complete with the screen etc, but after replacement washing machine is exactly the same. Anyone please put me in the right direction how to fix t…

The drain pump stopped working, so I ordered a new one and replaced it. That was the easy part. Now the machine won't start. The Start/Pause-button keeps blinking. I thought the machine maybe could be stuck in the previous programme (before I changed the pump), so I googled for a way to reset it. On this page How to cancel the error code on an AEG washing machine I found a way to do it (even though I have no error code), but it had no effect. Somewhere else I found a tip about pressing all four buttons to the left and turn the programme knob to 95 degrees - I tried it and the display turned into some diagnose mode where all LED lamps blinked one at time through a cycle...…

. Hi Everyone, New sign up member here with a slight problem with my Candy Aqua 1000 washing machine as explained below. 2 years ago I bought and moved aboard a very nice narrowboat and I'm moored at a very nice marina. The boat came with a smaller than usual size washing machine that has always worked with no problems. Last week I had to stop the wash cycle early and ever since and now when the machine goes into spin mode it spins to start the spin cycle but wont pick-up and go to full speed. Any advice appreciated, thank you. Supertrev. .
