Hi, My LG washing machine WM16331FD (direct drive) is working but it's been making a funny noise and I'm wondering if I could get D&G out before it quits working. There is obviously something wrong with it because it didn't make this noise and I'm hoping I might be able to get the part replaced before the machine actually breaks down. See video of noise below, (held the camera to back of machine!)thanks:

Hello. Helping a neighbour who owns a Haier washing machine. The problem is that the bolt that holds the main spider to the drum has sheered so that the stem of the bolt is still in the drum's part. Can this be drilled out and a new bolt purchased and replaced please? Or is there any other way it can be fixed as the machine is in perfect order. Regards,

My Hotpoint is over 15 years old, (and even then was slightly 2nd hand) but it has given valuable service without problem. It has only had the use of a single, though clean, person! Yesterday, afer starting service, it initially had two plug fuse cut outs. After replacing the fuse both times I moved the service indicator to a point where, rather than going through the whole service, the machine was set to a point which enabled it to rinse/spin so that I could at least remove dry(ish) clothes. However, the drum is banging too loudly for hearing safety - or neighbours sanity! It feels loose/wobbly to the touch. Does this sound like a problem that can be solved at a reasonab…

My Bosch WET 2820 washer-dryer started putting dark grease marks on the washing - with the help of the site I diagnosed this as grease from the bearings entering the drum. This machine has a metal "spider" that holds the bearings and seal against the tub so they can be removed without splitting the tub. The seal had failed and the bearing grease was contaminated with water, although the bearings were still running smooth. I had to split the tub to clean the grease (and other accumulated gunge) out - cue much cursing and cuts to hands and wrists! I fitted a genuine Bosch bearing and seal kit, along with a new tub seal - not sure if the latter was really required, but f…

Hi folks....I have a 2006 machine and the bearings are gone, I have taken off all the panels I can, but it looks as though it is going to be a bit more difficult than usual to get the drum out to replace the bearings. Anyone done this or any tips that I should know.....I don`t want to make it more difficult for myself than it already looks.... Thanks in anticipation.

Had this for a couple of months this time. What is different to the usual 'no spin' problem, is that it always starts to spin, you hear a second or two of the acceleration, and then it stops! Very annoying. The filter seems clear. Have blown through the output hose, and it seems clear, except the bubble of a little excess water at the bottom, I suppose. It is TRICITY BENDIX WASHER 1000. Any ideas? Is it the kind of thing to repair relatively cheaply? Or is it a 'may-as-well-get-a-new-one' job? Thanks for any advice.

I have a hotpoint ultima wt741 , about 4yrs old , washing machine does not show that the door is closed , the red closed light does not now come on, and machine will not start. l have removed top of machine and removed and inspected the lock switch/sensor and unplugged connector , all looks ok. I have refitted the door lock but the machine still cannot 'see that the door is in the closed position' and will not start. It first started playing up when you tried to start a wash it would flash up 'DOOR' but if you opened and re-closed the door the door light would come on and the wash would instantly start....but now seems to have failed all together? Any Ideas?

Hi All, I have stripped my Hotpoint BWM129 to change the bearings that have gone and got to the final point of getting the bolt out on the flywheel but it is a torx head and it has threaded. Any ideas to get this out so that I can change the bearings? Can post a picture if it helps. Thanks in advance. Regards Stuart

Hi Our Bosche WFF2000 tripped our main RCD at the end of a wash (door lock had released) and now is permanently leaking live to earth. I have tried disconnecting the motor with no change so am guessing the issue is eleswhere. Whilst I'm normally happy to have a go at most things, this seems a little complex without the necessary equipment or going round unplugging everything using trial and error. Is anyone aware of anything obvious (and relatively simple with just a multi-meter) to check? My feeling is that is is getting on a bit and needs replacing.

Hi, I've got a Zanussi washer/dryer and all was well until mid wash yesterday it suddenly stopped working, I opened the door to find water still inside and it was powerless, the lcd display on the front is off and i can't start any cycle e.t.c. A local repairman had a look today and he said the control board is getting power and it looks like one of the two control boards is gone, he said he can get the part (smaller front board) but it could turn out to be the mail board and he'd be unable to take it back. Sounds a tad dodgy but he is reputable. Either way I've rang around and the small board is around £50 and the main £150 then there's the call out and labour, would it …

hi i have a bosch waa 24171 washing machine and i need to dismantle the drum! the only problem i have is it has loads of these little clips which you cant open unless you wedge the drum open with several clips. Is there a method on doing this without have to use wedges to open the drum. Any advice would be great Or is it the case of breaking the clip and just screwing it back together?

I Have a oldish (12 years+) Siemans washing machine. It has just been plumbed into our new utility room. It is hot and cold fill and fills and washes ok, but water does not go into the detergent drawer. I have cleaned out the little holes and it all appears to be clean. I manually pour water into the appropriate section of the drawer to continue using it. Hope you can help.

Hi, Over the last few months, my washing machine doesn't always spin out properly at the end of a cycle, and the clothes, although not sopping wet, need an extra spin. It is odd that even though it doesn't spin at the end of a wash cycle, if I then set it to "drain/spin" it spins OK. The (Miele) machine has taken a bit of a battering as for 2 of the 7 years, I ran a B&B and regularly used it 3 or 4 times a day loaded with heavy egyptian cotton bedding (often slightly overloaded). I'm just wondering if it is worth spending that kind of money to repair, or should we replace it? I have cleaned the filter and run the machine twice with HG Service Engineer.…

First off hello all. Ive got a Hotpoint Ultima washer WT960 that was tripping as soon as you turned it on. So i did the usual disconnect the motor...it tripped....re attatched wires disconnected the element it ran. I located the new element through Espares (it even had a video below the product on how to fit it). As ive only just bought it from an add in the paper and im skint i decided to let the program run with the element wires disconnected and taped up to make sure there was nothing else wrong. Ran for a while then came up with the F03 fault number.(Washer thermister open or short circuit) Im guessing its because ive disconnected the three wires and the block wit…
