Hi there, I have an Indesit washing machine which uses a three phase induction motor (so no brushes). Out of the blue the machine has suddenly stopped working - It starts the washing cycle (fills) and then sits doing nothing for a long time until it decides something is wrong and starts flashing every light it has. So it fills and empties fine, but the drum doesn't twitch. I have removed the motor and checked to see if there is anything obviously wrong and there isn't (I was hoping it would have replaceable brushes but being induction it obviously doesn't). I have also taken out the speed control module and examined the board for any burnt areas but I can't see anythin…

I have a Hotpoint WML540 Aquarius m/c. During the spin a violent banging is heard throughout the cold water supply pipes, seemingly occurring near the ball valve in the cold water tank. As far as I understand the only connection between the m/c and the supply pipes is via the cold water inlet valve in the m/c. Can anyone provide an explanation. I've thought about a "water hammer" effect but cannot understand how this can happen during the spin cycle when presumably the valve should be closed. Thanks in anticipation' John W Thomas

Hi I saw the following advertised as an inexpensive replacement for the waterproof inlet hose system that Miele uses. Does anybody have an opinion about it's reliability? Is it available more cheaply elsewhere? Thanks for any help. MIELE CONVERSION KIT FOR WPS INLET 1 X CONVERSION KIT FOR THE W800 & 900 SERIES WPS AQUASTOP MACHINES. MACHINE NOT FILLING? LIGHTS FLASHING ON FACIA!!!...THE BIG QUESTION IS..IS IT THE AQUAHOSE AT FAULT?...COST APPROX £190+ ..OR THE TRIPLE INLET VALVE?..COST APPROX £100+. OR BOTH??? THIS IS GETTING EXPENSIVE ON A 15+ YEARS OLD MACHINE. NOT TO WORRY...THIS KIT REPLACES THE INLET HOSE FOR A NORMAL TYPE..IT ALSO REPLACES THE TRIPLE INLET…

Hi hope someone can help. The start/pause button on my machine won't work. The digital display has the correct information for each cycle when selected and the other buttons respond as they are supposed to but the start button just continues to flash and won't respond when pressed. This is not a child lock issue which seems to be a common problem because all the other buttons respond appropriately and the display has no error message at all. Would really appreciate a solution, cannot afford this bother at the moment.

Our hotpoint WDD960P sometimes doesn't respond to button presses. Usually, we leave it alone for a minute or 2 before trying again; this can take up to 5 or 6 attempts before it actually responds to the button press. It's irritating as it can prevent the machine turning on easily, not to mention trying to set up a complicated cycle which requires a lot of button presses. I'm a service engineer by trade but I am used to laboratory equipment! Do you think it is the main PCB behind the buttons/display which is at fault? I can't make out if there is another PCB hidden away somewhere other than the one in the front panel. Could do with a service manual or some advice!

Hi all, like most people I found this site after problems with the above washing machine. The washing machine would wash but refused to spin, so suspecting a blockage at the pump, I checked the discharge pipework which was clear, then I removed the filter and found some of the usual threads etc, but also found some small coins. I put it back together and expected it to work ok, but, whilst clearing the blockage I had laid the washing machine on its side for better access to the pump. Once I got the machine all put back together I tried a wash, but, it will not start. Power is ok, as the 'STOP' light flashes continuously when you select a program, but the 'DOOR LOCKED…

I've just moved into a new flat which has a Baumatic BWD 1212 Fully Integrated Washer dryer, supposedly in good working order. It washes fine until I put in a load of towels. The load is not too big, I've washed the same load in other washing machines with no problem. I'm putting liquid detergent directly in the drum, in the cap that comes with the detergent, it's 2-in-1 with added fabric conditioner. The problem is that halfway through the cycle the washing machine suddenly starts building up with loads and loads of foam, so much that it's all that can be seen through the window and it starts leaking out of the sides of the door and also out of the dispenser drawer, quit…

I have a Meile Prestige Plus, it's nearly 2 years old, but this problem has occurred since it was new. On a cotton cycle, all temperatures, there are excess bubbles. Sometimes the excess light comes on but sometimes the lather is just coming out of the detergent drawer! The amount used is carefully measured and amounts strictly adhere to the manufacturers recommendations. The drum is not full and I really can't see what I am doing wrong. I would be grateful for any advice, I contacted the manufacturers when it was new but they were not able to she'd any light on it. Thank you

I have read the relevant discussion on this matter but thought someone might be able to help as this problem seems to have other causes. I have a Bosch W/M model WFO2865 UK/1. It starts the wash cycle and runs out of time - it does not move on to the rinse cycle. It performs the wash action. I then changed the heating element, it turned out the element was ok as it reads about 26 ohms but I left the new element in the machine anyway. I then tried the NTC sensor, it reads about 5000 ohms so it is working. I then tried the machine and poured in hot water manually, the wash cycle went through and progressed to the rinse and spin. So I assume the NTC is not faulty. I then ch…

I wonder if anyone can offer some advice regarding the following issue. My Indesit W113 has started to get stuck very early in a cycle. Other drain, wash and spin cycles are ok if I reset and go directly to them. I suspect the heater or thermostat is at fault. I disconnected & checked the heater and got approx 31 ohms reading with a meter. I am now at a loss to find the thermostat. I'm used to seeing it embeded into the drum via a rubber grommit and with wires coming from it but I can't find any wires or any rubber grommets containing a thermostat. Is there a thermostat that monitors water in drum temp on these machines and if so where is it located? Percy

My beloved Ariston AV1048CUK isn't working! It's quite an old machine but has proved reliable over the years so I'd like to repair it if I can. The problem is that the timer sticks part way through the wash cycle. I'm pretty sure it's not the timer itself but the timer is waiting for a response from something else, which never comes. On a wash cycle the machine fills to the correct level. It then heats the water, as I can feel the door getting warm. The machine then spins the drum correctly, as it would to to agitate the clothes. It's at this point the timer stops; the machine just sits there agitating the clothes. I'm thinking the water level sensor works OK and that…

Hi, my much repaired washer (motor, shocks, element) has developed another fault. it skips the spin cycle and the program selector goes all the way round and starts again. I force drained it and checked the pump filter. Got a flood of water but nothing blocking it although the pump does move backwards and forwards. Also, mum says when she selects program 2, 95°, to do an empty service wash with soda crystals, it skips straight to 3 and the water doesn't get hot (hand on glass door) Tried to find service manual but only found user manual which I still have in pouch on side of washer. Any pointers/help greatly appreciated. thanks R.

Hi My Bosch Exccel 1600 has just malfunctioned after 7 years of perfect service. The drum does not rotate and it's unable to pump out any water. When the machine is on there''s a noise which sounds like a bags of stones being mixed around. I haven't been able to pop the back off yet. Just wondering if anyone's had anything similar? Is it a broken belt or maybe a problem with the motor? Any advice would be great. Thanks Balfourroadman

Hello! Im the "proud" owner of an old Indesit w125tx washing machine. Until yesterday it worked flawlessly! Yesterday after the first program it did not drain the water. So it stood there and the pump would not engage. Sure enogh I opened the drain plug by the pump and some coins came out... They had been blocking the pump so it had been working for some while trying to start, but couldent move. So I closed it again and the pump fired up and emptied the water, so far so good. So i started a new program, water came inn. But when the machine was almost full of water it stopped taking the water inn and the pump started instead. So it emptied all the water, and still pump…

Is it possible aside from throwing the washer dryer into a landfill to stop a wash/dry program early? My daughters state of the art Hoover Washer Dryer a Dynamic 9+6 Product code: WDYN 9646G-80 thinks it knows everything... but if the washing inside is completely dry there seems to be no way to end the program. The dryer insists it has another "2 hours" to go before it is done! Please if anyone knows a way to get this blessed thing to end its program please let me know otherwise the Washer Dryer gets it... Thanks in advance. Steve

Hi, I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I am just finishing refitting my daughters kitchen, which included adding a trap for the washing machine outlet. I did this because previously the outlet went out through the wall to an open drain (it's and older type house) and she was getting a drain smell when the machine was used. I assumed it was coming back up the waste pipe, hence the new trap. After the first wash I noticed the smell was still there, so now I am thinking it is the machine itself, or maybe the end of the outlet hose that goes into the stand pipe. I would be grateful for advice please, also, where do I get one of those hook things that helps the…

Hi Andy. I need your help/advice please. For the past two or three weeks I have had a reoccurence of what is usually a once a year problem (strangely always around this time of year @ early Autumn), with that problem being clothes that after an hour or so start to stink. Based on previous experience and what I read on your site and others that smell is caused by the heating up of the clothes releasing a rank mold/mildew odour that has been so bad I had to come home from work early today. I am getting headaches, my nose is running and eyes are watering. All signs I believe of mold spores that I am breathing in? In fact when I start to iron my clothes my nose is immediately…

Hi, Our Indesit WIXE127 Washing Machine blew a fuse on the main fuse box and the plug itself. Once the fuses were replaced the door no longer locked itself. After removing the door seal and unscrewing the door interlock there was some obvious damage to both the lock and wire connector. I am not worried about the door interlock as it can be easily replaced with the following part: http://www.4washerhe...t.pl?pid=877127 However as you can see from the attached picture the connector is also damaged and wondered if anyone knew where I could buy a replacement? Thanks, Graeme
