Hi All, Please please can someone help me save my washing machine before my better half gets her way and makes a bee line for the washing machine shop with my wallet in hand!!!! We have a superb Miele washing machine which has given us faultless service over the last 9 years or so. In the last 9 months its developed a nasty smell, we always leave the main load and powder draw open, we have always followed the recommendation of a hot wash every couple of months and can't understand where we have gone wrong. I assume the smell is due to bacteria build up, I have tried the maintenance deep clean products from the supermarkets, it seems to work for a short time but the sm…

Hi, I have a beko wma765s machine and I recently changed the drum bearings as they had gone. The drum now spins nice and quiet however when it goes into full spin it makes a right racket as if it's vibrating through the metal casing. Tonight I heard bits breaking off and on emptying the clothes from the machine I found a couple of grey plastic bits inside the drum rattling around. I took out the drain filter and found more bits of grey broken plastic. Any ideas what and where the broken bits are from and also why it's making such a loud noise on full spin even though it's had new bearings fitted?

Hi-Can anyone help? My Beko washing machine has stopped working. When a programme is selected the machine seems to start ok by filling with water. Then NOTHING. No movement on the drum. After a while the display shows "END" as though it has completed its cycle. Is it possible that the motor brushes are worn or could it be the PCB? If it is motor brushes i have changed them on other washers I have owned. How easy is it to do on this model? Thanks

Hi Basically I know my way round the inside of a washing machine but don't know if this is possible but here goes :- Wife used the washer then put in a second load, motor did not turn but program timer was still clicking away so she switched it off. I immediately suspected the brushes, but also considered it could be the motor itself. So I replaced the brushes as they were well down, but rather than risk a blown pc board disconnected the motor plug from the board. I then started a cycle the washer went through filling with water once full switched the water valve off. The timer was still clicking away but obviously the washer was not aggitating t…

Hi I have a 2 month old Bosch washer-dryer. All seems fine, however, there's a fine white (yet gritty feeling) powder in the vents (dryer air flow?) at the top of the door seal. This is now falling down onto the top of the door and getting on washing. It's not washing powder as I dont use it and the loction doesn't seem to tie with it being something in the water. Also, i've used the liquid in my old washer-dryer no problem. Any ideas what it could be...? I'm on the brink of booking an engineer visit but not sure if its that serious. Thanks Neil

Hello, My 6 year old JLWM 1405 stops washing in the middle of a programm, most of the time but sometimes works fine. It will spin with an empty drum but won't spin when loaded, only with very little load it would spin. It starts trying to spin -no water in the drum, but then it seems like that it detects it would be out of balance and stops. I would like to check the out of balance switch or the part which causes the machine to stop. Does anyone know how to do that? Many thanks Shakes

Hi, I've a hot point washing machine that had a damaged paddle - it came off and some clothes got jammed between the drum and the outer casing when pulling the clothes out I think I damaged something at he bottom of the drum because when I ran the machine it leaked! I've removed the paddle and I can feel a loose piece of metel and can stick my finger into a whole that feels like it has a ball in it? Any idea what I have damaged and if it's repairable? TIA

Morning all, any help over the following issue will be gratefully received. Fault with Bosch 1400s – Issue machine starts cycle water enters the drum and then spins two or three times then the pump kicks in and drains the water away and ends the cycle. No error codes are shown. Even if I just put the machine on to spin the water pump starts even if there is no water and after a while the pump stops and ends the cycle. I have cleaned the pump, checked for blockage in the pressure valve pipe, checked the motor bushes. Thanks..

Hi! I would be so grateful for any kind of help with this issue. Our machine, which is about 2 years old, started leaking today. I opened it up and immediately saw a small piece of the door seal gasket was torn off. I will attach an image. My main question is can this be patched (even if it won't be a perfect patch), by either gluing something to the gasket or to the door itself? Thanks so much for any help you could offer. P.S. What could have caused this?

Hi, I have looked at the link on here about this problem but I still can't resolve the issue and just wanted to seek further advice before either buying spare parts or splashing out on a new machine. I've a Beko 7335 that's approx 4 years old and it has decided that it doesn't want to fill with water. It spins fine though. I've checked the filter at the bottom (and am 25p richer!) and checked that the hoses aren't kinked or blocked. The water is coming through to the pipes fine as well, but it's just making the pump noise and nothing is coming through the dispenser drawer. I thought there may be something else stuck in the bottom filter but I turned the machine on its…

Hi I've just purchased a new Miele W5780 It has great reviews - but I'm disappointed to find it doesn't have a "time remaining" display - despite the Which review saying it has - as well as a number of sellers. Is there something I've missed? If not - why has such an expensive machine not got such a simple feature? and is there an upgrade available? Cheers Stuart

Having read previous problems and replies around the internet I hope that I have supplied all relevant information - hence the long post, sorry. I have an AEG LAVAMAT 86810 with PNC code A914525314 01 which was leaving clothes damper than usual even when spinning at 1600RPM. I ran the diagnostics tests and got E35. I took the top off and located the 2 pressure switches and took off the hoses at the switches end. They seemed OK - no gunk on them. I blew down the hoses and sucked as well. I took off the pressure switches and blew/sucked whilst having a multimeter continuity buzzing away as the contacts made/unmade. I moved the waste hose and did a few rinse/drain tests and…

I have a WDD960 which spins at 1600rpm for about 5 minutes during the dryer cycle (set to cotton. Woolen and synthetic are fine and don't spin) I don't recall this happening before and can't find anything about it in the manual (in fact the wash/dryer table indicates no spin) Also during any dryer cycle the pause button doesn't work (it's fine on all other washes) so the only way to stop a dryer cycle is to press the on/off button, this of course resets the programme. Can anyone verify if this is normal operation? Thanks in advance

Hello all, We have the above machine - fault is there is no heat generated during a wash. I've read the article under common problems, and don't think it's relevant in this instance. There is almost certainly no heat generated during a wash cycle. Normally, there is some perceptible warmth to the clothing as it is removed from the machine. Upon noticing this hadn't happened today , I put some towels in the machine and kept regularly checking the outlet pipe - no warm water left the machine during the wash cycle. No fault codes are produced. Any clues what I'm looking for? Heating element, PCB or thermistor failure? I've never had to open the machine, but am fairl…

Hello, My Indesit WA155 programme selector turns but does not click/ratchet into the various positions but it does seem to be selecting the appropriate programmes and I get the rapid flashes when it is switched on in the various positions. It then seems to move around as the cycle progresses, but just doesn't click into them. I assume the mechanism is just worn but it went suddenly which doesn't really follow - any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi folks I've got a slightly troublesome Hotpoint Electronic 800 De Luxe 9524W, which I believe is one of those classic old British made models from the 80s. It's more or less running fine, but frequently enough to be a bit annoying, the drum stops spinning and sometimes even stops turning completely, when it has what I consider not too heavy a load, e.g., a couple of towels. I can consistently get the drum working again, by pulling the machine out and unplugging the motor from the control unit for a few minutes. I'm no expert, but this seems to indicate to me that the overload switch has become too sensitive, and is unable to reset itself back - unplugging the machin…

Hi, newbie here..... Was washing some towels tonight in my 11 year old washing machine, and near the end of the spin cycle the machine made some grinding noises, then the drum stopped spinning. After reading these forums I tried to troubleshoot a little bit -first putting a soggy towel (just one) in the drum and started the spin cycle. But again, the drum didn't move. After switching it off, I checked the drum movement by hand, and it does rotate but there is a slight resistance compared to when i have spun it round previously to check for the odd sock for instance. I could have put too much in the drum to start with, or else something has worn down. Any suggestions would…

I removed the sump hose (because it was leaking) from my Hoover A0093 washing machine but stupidly forgot to note how the inside bits fitted together. These consist of an inner cup/hose and a float (a green, light ball). How do they fit? Starting from the top, is it ball, cup, sump hose; or cup, ball, sump hose? And does the cup have the smaller hole at the top or bottom? Thankyou anybody who replies.

I am assuming all washing machine motors are pretty much the same so I was hoping somebody could advise me. My washing machine tries to spin but cuts out after a second or two. It is not the control board as the motor does try to turn but gives up after an initial burst of energy. I have taken the motor off and tested the 8 pin connector with a multimeter and got the following results. I assume pins 1, 2 & 3 are the motor. There is continuity across all three terminals. Pins 4 and 5 are brushes. Full continuity except when I spin the motor from stationary I get a split second of discontinuity spinning one way but not the other. Pins 6 and 7 are taco coil no continui…
