Hi, Been looking online for answers why my Bosch WFF 1201 fills up slowly. At start briefly it fills with good pressure to one powder container and stops. Then it starts to fill to the other powder container with good pressure at first but after a few moments pressure drops and it carries on filling with low pressure. It takes long and doesn't wash down all of the powder. The cold/hot inlet valve filters are clean. The initial good pressure seems to indicate that it is capable of filling with good pressure but for some reason it doesn't. Any ideas? This machine came with my newly purchased flat so I don't know any of it's history. But I want to use it for a while and spe…

Hi. I have an Indesit IWME126 washing machine which has developed a problem which is probably due to a broken spider (or possibly bearings). I need to decide whether repair or a replacement machine is the best course of action. Could anyone please tell me if the drum tub is sealed (requiring replacement of the entire tub) or whether this can be opened up to replace the spider. It is a big job to remove the drum tub and not something I want to start only to discover I can't open the tub to complete the repair. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have a W526 and needed a new motor module, after giving Miele machine serial number they sent part 7785400. The new part arrivived but it did not have the hole for the small brass pin which is located by one of the bolts. I thought the pin made contact with a component on the board so I swapped the top over off the old unit refitted and all works ok. My questions are what does the pin do, was the new module reviesd so as not to need the pin?

Hi, I have a LG WM1437BFG washing machine. I first started hearing a grinding noise few weeks ago, but not on every wash. It was like a clutch mechanism sticking. Along with this I was getting an awful smell in the drum, and on washed clothes. Few days ago machine stopped mid cycle with error message stating 'water not draining' which it hadn't. Did a little research and found that the water drain pump is common problem. My machine has two pumps the same on each side of the filter. Had the option to either replace whole assemble, or individual pumps. So I got a multimeter, tested both pumps and found one was at issue. I also removed the impeller to find both pumps clogg…

Hello anybody who might be able to help. A long time ago our Hotpoint Aquarius WF640 did the all lights flashing thing. We took out the PCB, replaced a capacitor and it worked! Hooray. BUT it would not spin at the end of cycle, pumping out but no spin and sticking at one minute (this seems to be a common problem). Switch to spin and it spun fine. Once for a few seconds it flashed f08 - heater relay fault - but never again. It was not heating up or taking hot water so I temporarily switched the pipes. Waste of hot water but we got a hot wash with manual spin cycle. I have read so much advice and I'm really grateful for all the sensible, clear, logical information given. …

Hi there, purchased Miele W5872 and it is have troubles with spin cycle. After rinse, it starts its fast spin cycle but for some reason it machine seems to think it needs water and about 3mins into the spin, the washer starts to inject water into the drum. At end of cycle, clothes are still fairly wet. Does anyone have any experience of this or do they know what might a possible cause? Also, as a short term fix, I've been cancelling program after wash and then doing separate spin cycle where I turn water valve off. Is this a problem or could it damage the machine any further? Help much appreciated.

Machine was not on, we were watching to and there was an audible bang from kitchen and RCD was tripped. Thought it was the oven as that is basically what we were using at the time. Found out later the watching machine no longer turns on when button pressed. No lights, nothing. No problems and had been working well up till then. Followed advice checked fuses and okay, tried another device in the power socked which worked. Any suggestions? Would actually be interested to find out what caused it as machine was not on! Everything else is working fine and we have had no repeat event?

I overloaded the machine, and they washed fine, but during the spin cycle the machine cuts out after a few seconds. It starts up after three or so minutes, but cuts out again without completing any program and it keeps doing this until I turn the machine off. It will fill with water during the wash cycle however, but it will cut out and won't drain. I have to drain it myself. The machine is only two years old so I'm not entirely sure what the problem may be. There is a funny sound it makes, it sounds like the spin cycle is starting up, but then stalls and cuts out. Any help would be appreiciated, thanks.

The above machine has started banging whilst on 1200rpm spin it sounds like a tractor on tick over! The drum does appears to be out of balance when spinning. Bearings seem ok. Took lid off to see if concrete block was loose, but was ok. Checked the bolts. Went underneath to see if dampers loose, they look ok but was difficult to try and move them as the drum had rested on the back on the machine as I had it tip backwards at 45 degrees. thanks for any help

Hi, I have had my washing machine just under a year (2 days out from guarantee ending) and yesterday I went to the machine and saw rubber bits all over the washing and seal. A hole has appeared in the seal (see picture). I can't see any leaks but surely this cannot be good. A 20p was in the wash when the stuff came out. I thinking this could be culprit? Indesit said if accidental damage there will be a charge so am thinking not to call out and get someone in to put in a new seal, or a patch to repair. I am based in Nottingham. If anyone can help me find a solution I would be very grateful. Thanks, Sarah

Hi All, We have a Hotpoint WDPG8640X washer dryer UK purchased December 2013 which has failed twice in the same way. After 10 months the machine intermittently failed to pump out, eventually giving an "F.." error code (I can't remember which). It seemed that the pump would run for a few moments then stop. Alternatively, if the water level was too high, it wouldn't pump out at all - at least most of the time. If you switched to drying or spin functions, the washer would add a litte extra water(!) a few times before giving up (presumably trying to increase the pressure behind the pump. On the first engineer visit he performed a firmware update or similar, raised the drain…

Advice appreciated on whether it is worth repairing my 5 year old LG WD14316RD whose bearings have gone. The machine has been making a lot of noise and the drum is very wobbly so I think the problem is the bearings/ spider. I'm worried also that the outer drum may have been damaged as some plastic-y fibrous material which smelled electrical came out of the filter. We are heavy users of the machine (c. 12 times a week) and I'm worried it may have reached its 'natural' lifespan. Repairs would be 25-30% of the replacement cost (of a better, more efficient machine) - do you think this is worthwhile or a case of 'good money after bad'? Many thanks!

I've got a Daewoo washer drier trips out on fault E6 on every program. The service manual gives "In case motor detected with EMG port is of 20A or higher". It says clear the fault and reset by turning off the power. The problem has not gone away. Chatting the the Daewoo guys they are not familiar with this, suggest fishing around the repair community, or change the motor and/or PCB! Has anyone any experience of this?...an overload on the direct drive motor can only be in the drum itself, a bearing of something jammed, so even changing motor & PCB would not cure this. The drum turns freely with no noise or scraping, the motor windings look OK no sign of water or bur…

Hello All I have an indesit W12X washer dryer that has developed a problem. When you start the washer running on program 7 temperature 40 degrees it will not progress onto the rinse cycle. I thought this maybe down to no heat so have checked the element.. This seems to be ok. I have dropped the meter on the two terminals above the element which I thought would be the thermostat and there is no circuit. A m I correct in thinking there should be a circuit here and that it is indeed the thermostat Thanks for any advice

Hello. I have a washing machine AEG L-72850m washing machine that is throwing error code 52. The PNC is 914525614 (01). The motor does not spin. When it tries to do it, there is a sound that comes from it. You can check it here: I have checked the tacho and I get voltage when turning it by hand (low, but it shows). Checking the motor on pin 1 to pin 2, pin 1 to pin 3 and pin 2 to pin 3 gives a reading of 6,5 ohms. Pin 4 and pin 5 gives a reading of about 180 ohms. What could I check next?

Hi all, We have a hotpoint aquarius wdl520 which has stopped heating during the drying process. No warning lights appear, and the machine seems to be attempting to dry, but it comes out as damp and cold as it would after a spin cycle. If anyone has any ideas on what the problem could be I would appreciate any pointers. Many thanks in advance. Dan

Hi, I am having trouble with large amounts of foam leaking from the detergent dispenser drawer on my Beko WMA 767 washing machine and was hoping someone here might be able to help. I have been to excessive foam in washing machine page here: too much foam (those are my comments under the article) so that should give you an idea of what's been happening and what I've tried. I have recently moved house but used to have a similar issue in my old house only not as often as it is occurring now, it's now happening pretty much with every wash. I normally would use the Tesco own-brand liquitabs but since the foaming I read it was perhaps an idea to use powder instead so I have n…

Hi, I have a hoover DST10166PGB which has blown the main processor chip on the control board. I have fitted a replacement chip, but i need the flash file for the chip to reprogram it. It's an ATMEGA644. I appreciate that this repair is probably well above the scope of the average DIY repair. However, I'd happily settle for someone to point me in the direction of somewhere that reprograms Hoover modules? Ideally I'd like to find a Hoover engineer who is willing to reprogram the board for me, or just send me the raw .bin file so I can do it myself? Cheers Alan

Hi, Our washer dryer had stopped mid-cycle (looks like just before the stage where the softner is added). There are no fault LEDS and I can't seem to get it to work again. I tried putting the machine onto drain to empty it, but even though the lights change when the start/stop button is pressed, nothing starts. I've tried all programs. I have manually drained the machine via the outlet at the bottom right, where I found a very small key and coin, but it looks like that was there for a while as there is a rust stain on the platsic. Still can't get the machine to start anything and the door doesn't lock when the program is supposed to start. When I do press the start/sto…

I bought an Indesit washer from Curry's, the IWC71452 which is on special at £179 at the mo. It was used twice and then stopped working. I went through the trouble shoot guide but nothing. Eventually got an engineer out and it turned out to be a rubber washer in the filter which was flat on one side, ridged on the other and not a full circle, it was manufactured with a break in it. The fitter wondered if it came out of the clothes washed but i know this is impossible and I suspect it was either part of the washer or filter. Can anyone suggest what it was? its around 40mm in diameter, soft rubber and similar to what you would get in a waste compression joint.
