Hi All This week we have experience a problem with our Zanussi washing machine after 20 minutes. * I have check the Heating element with a voltmeter which shows 26.6 (could they still be a fault with this) * I tested the machine without the Water connect on 2 difference cycles and it ran with any problems & no tripping. * I drained the water and re- tested it after after 10 minutes the power tripped, switch the RCD back on and it keeps tripping instantly within 15 secs Can anyone help with what i can test next or what the possible problem could be. I have a seventeen year old indesit wd10 it seems to make a grinding noise randomly almost like the sound is cogs grinding/slipping against each other when it’s really goes for it it chucks the belt off. I have taken the belt off and turned the drum it move freely, no resistance no grinding or rumbling. I put the belt back on same no issues the belt has some light hazing and cracks which I will replace and the motor brushes are worn down another one to replace awaiting part. Neither of these could cause the noise I describe ? the pulley has no play the bearing doesn’t seem to move or make noise when I spin it. No rumble or grinding. bit stumped wh…

The inlet filter warning comes on quite frequently, about every six to eight weeks. The white, plastic filter screen does have some brown discoloration, which can be washed off and the machine then runs normally for a while. I have to move the washer out from under its worktop each time, and it's a brute to move. Should I attempt to find some sort of auxiliary filter for the inlet, which might need less frequent attention and I might fix in a more convenient place? My local water supply looks clear and colourless, but I have been told that it might contain small amounts of soft, fibrous particles from peat.

I have a hotpoint wmxtf742 which tripped the rcb. I had a look and found the interlock had blow along with the harness plugged into it at the door end. I have just replaced the interlock and the harness with new parts. Turned the machine back on, selected a program and as soon as the cycle starts it tripped the rcb again. No damage to interlock this time though. Have I missed something in replacing the damaged parts? I’d great fuel for some advice. Hopefully not looking at a new machine

Hello community. I have a Zanussi ZWT71201 WA. It was making an unusual noise, so I removed the back shield and looked inside the machine. I found the drive belt was disconnected from the motor and was completely wrapped around the neck of the drum pulley. I replaced the belt, but it continues to slip off. There is no play on my drum pulley and the center bolt in it is tight. From the front, the drum has little independent movement when I lift it up. I would like to make a scientific diagnosis before I start buying and changing parts. Your advice and guidance is welcomed. Interestingly, I had a look on espares and there is no listing for bearings…

Hello, I've been trying to find out what a 'EO8' code means on a Hoover Washing Machine (Model: DYN8144 DIX). I've contacted Hoover directly and they won't tell me other than it's 'a motor problem' and want to charge me a fortune to call out an engineer and trying to sell me a new washing machine. Is the EO8 code specific to a certain problem in the motor or is it a general code to say the motor has a problem? Many ThanksSte.

Hi... Long story short, I have a Candy GVS1610TH. Error code E03 keeps recurring. I've cleaned out the filter, the sump hose, the waste hose, taken the heating element out and today replaced the pump. After each time, error code E03 appears towards the end of the cycle. What next, apart from a new machine?

Hi All, I have a Hotpoint washing machine WMUD 962 I've had it for about 5 years without any issues until yesterday. It now makes a loud knocking noise during spin cycle (800 rpm and 1600), almost deafening in fact. It fills with water and goes through a washing cycle but the clothes don't wash properly - e.g. I can see brownish spots on my light coloured shirts. From the research I have done it sounds like it might be the bearing in which case I would have to replace the sealed drum for £140 plus (aint gonna happen I can buy a new one for that). However, I would like some input from you guys who will know a lot more than me. A few more points, I remov…

Hi there, I wonder if anybody can shed any light on an issue I've been having with my (less than 12-months old) Hotpoint BHWMD732. I noticed recently that whilst the washer still works fine, its started to click, almost like a tooth clicking sound - click*click*click - which can be heard at low speeds. At first I thought it was shirt buttons catching on the glass part of the door, but I moving the drum by hand indicates its something to do with the motor, drum or bearings I don't know. I've tried to contact other owners and they don't appear to have this issue, so something isn't right I suspect. I can't see any coins or items stuck in the drum or around the rubber d…

Good day, I am having a strange issue with my Electrolux washing machine. It appears the brake arm motor is remaining energized when its not supposed to. Even after the cycle is finished, and the power to the machine is removed, it takes around 5 – 10 minutes before I hear the brake arm motor release the brake arm. I have checked the connections to the brake arm motor – all OK, and at the beginning of the wash cycle it behaves properly (engaging and releasing), but if the brake arm motor has been activated for a long time (i.e. During a spin and drain cycle) when the brake arm should be engaged (for deep rinsing using the agitator) it does not, so the agitator o…

Hi, I have a problem with my washer where it's stuck on one minute and never finishes a cycle or drains. I know this has been discussed a gazillion times and often it's down to a blockage. I had all the pipes connected to the pump off last night, and cleaned them all out so they're like new. The filter is clear and I can see the impeller spinning. It makes no difference if it's a cold or hot wash (the heater element is definitely working) and even running a spin or drain cycle doesn't help. I've made a short video of the noise it makes when it should be draining here. Any ideas please? It sounds like the bearings on the pump maybe?

I have a Bosch washing machine, Model WFO2866GB/01, about 12 years old. The problem I'm having is that the spin cycle wont work when there is water in the machine. It will spin if I drain the machine and when there is no water in it. I've checked and cleaned all the hoses and I'm certain there is no blockage. Thinking the issue must be the pump, I've replaced it, with the same result - will spin with no water, not if water is in the machine. Additionally, of late, there has been a short delay (of up to a minute) between pressing the spin cycle button and the machine actually beginning to spin (when there is no water in it). Any ideas or suggestions…

Hi, I've been having an odd issue with my hotpoint washer dryer, that's quite hard to google as everything about stopping while draining is about blockages. It stops at some drain point in the cycle, when empty it will fill up with water fine and there seems to be no issue with it spinning, I replaced the drum assembly about 4 months ago as the bearings had gone, I have tried the dryer setting and it seems to heat up fine as well. When on the drain cycle option, it will drain perfectly fine into the standing pipe, seems to be unobstructed flow, for about 5-10 seconds before stopping with all the lights flashing and door unlocking. I have taken all the hoses from…

Hi, I have a faulty temp button on my LG washer dryer. I have taken the plastic cover off and had a look at the PCU. The button will work if u press it in fully but the touch aspect doesn't work, meaning it wont work through the plastic front panel. I have spoken to LG and they weren't very helpful. Looking at the button compared to the others, it looks as though the "tape" across the front is maybe water damaged, its a slightly different colour. I realise i can get a new PCU but they aren't cheap. Is it possible to repair the touch aspect of the button or replace this? Thanks

Our new Bosch Serie 4 throws the wash tablet into the door seal where it sits undisolved for main washes. Even when placed between garments - same result. Any ideas?
