Hi guys, I have been having the F13 fault that seems to appear on these machines. I followed the link in http://www.washerhelp.co.uk/forums/topic/1136-hotpoint-wdd960-f13-error-code/?hl=wdd960 and ordered the thermistor. However when i attempted to fit the new part today i came across a problem, the new part looks nothing like the part fitted to my machine ( providing im looking at the right thing) Can anyone help me out and tell me what to do next as i would really like to get this fixed. Also im struggling to get the top of the silver housing back on..

Hi, thanks for all these tips & tricks and the forum. I have a question which sounds specfic in the first place, but I guess it could be rather generic. My trusty old Hoover washer/dryer WD1200 (A8722) no longer reverses properly. During wash cycles it does not move the drum back and forth as it should. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it seems to have a load problem (starts movement, but stops immediately). It does fast spins with no problems. Also, it reverses with no problems during drying. This led me to believe that it could be a problem with creating the EM field to start the motor, but apparently the machine (22 years...) does not have a …

I have a bosch classics 1400 express washing machine, model number WFO2867GB/17. I had to buy a new fluff filter broke the original one trying to get it out, had something stuck in the back of it. The new one is leaking at the bottom. Any suggestions or is it time for a new machine? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have an Indesit 1100 washing machine, I know very little about washing machines but can't really afford the massive call out charge, a while ago the belt came off, I had a look myself but couldn't work it out, someone we know came round, had a look and said the brushes need replacing, he did so and I had no problems, for a few days, I made a few attempts at getting the belt on, it kep falling off, I was eventually successful and had it going for about a month, I decided about a week ago since it was working I would put the back on, today the belt fell off again, I felt like kicking the damn thing, after three attempts at getting the belt to stay on it seems to be on…

Hi, I have a top load Amana washing machine. Yesterday I replaced the drive belt as well as the pump. After installing everything, I ran it to see if it worked and water spewed out of the pump. I went and got another pump and everything seemed to work. Today my daughter ran 4-5 loads of laundry through it and on the last load it began making a load motor type sound. She said it had a mechanical like smell. The washer appeared to be done but when she opened it, the washer had not drained. She tried to restart it and all it did was spin. It did not drain but there does appear to be a puddle on the floor in the rear of the washer. What could possibly be wrong with it now? Th…

Hi I have a Bosch Maxx5 / WAA24162GB/11. Its making a knocking when spinning at high speeds (I believe there is something stuck in the plastic drum) & got to the point where I need the front panel off but cannot figure out how it comes off. I have removed the retaining spring for the door seel, peeled back the door seal, taken off the door, removed the two screws from the bottom of the front panel but it still wont budge. I can see there are two (per side) white plastic clips that look like the panel should be pushed down but it will not move. Thanks for any advice you can give. Jon

We all buy Samsung because it is a "good brand" and products seems to last longer regardless the cost. And supposedly if ever something happens to products while still in the warranty period, Samsung will fix it or replace it. Unfortunately this is not what happens when you find yourself in this situation, the customer service department is not very helpful. I got a washing machine in 2011 with comet, unfortunately comet close down, but now the washing machine stops working, call Samsung to get sorted, someone from DOMEX came down to have a look at the machine, without opening to check the inside suddenly conclude that it was due to the installation,"sth behind the ma…

Washing machine is about 14 years old and until now the washer/dryer pair has been faultless. I certainly don't want to "upgrade" to anything with a logic board. Symptoms are rather simple: 1) Run complete cycle, open lid and see that washer never drained water, so you have to twirl the timer around to point where washer is supposed to do initial drain and start again. Washer will drain, spin, fill again with clean water, though 2nd draining is never kicked off so twirl around again and kick off final drain with spin. 2) During my trouble shoot, I found that if you monitor the washing machine and about where the washing machine would perform first drain and start to sp…

Our Hoover oph 716 Df has ddeveloped a fault which trips the electrics as soon as it's plugged in. I have done tests including the heater element which is 27 ohms- normal. The motor brushes are fine as is the mains filter. After process of elimination I suspected the control pcb, ordered a second hand one but the same fault exists! The only component left I have not checked is the pressure sensor- when I disconnect this the machine runs perfectly on every programme until I plug the sensor connector back in then it trips again. It would appear to be the sensor but I have not heard of anyone else with this fault? The wiring apoears fine and nothing else obvious includ…

Hi I have a Whirpoll AWG 338 washer dryer and all seems to work well, its about 12 years old. Recently, on occasional washes, i am finding black spots on some of the clothes when they come out. I am wondering if it is grease? A friend mentioned that the bearings are sealed for life and when they wear they can leak grease in to the wash. I have looked through other peoples posts and am wondering if this may be my probelm. Non of the other symptons seem to be evident though like the drum moving back wards and forwards or too much noise. Given the age and relative cheapness of bearing kits I thought I would give it a go before buying a new machine. Hope some one can a…

I have an Indesit IWDD7143 washing machine and dryer combo. It had initially fail to drain water out and water was leaking from the ceased drain pump onto the the floor. I then opened the pump and cleaned it out, I found a hairpin, and also found some coins in the drain sump. I did not buy this washing machine from new so could have been from previous user. I replaced the drain pump for a new one of the same type, however it still does not drain. Everytime the machine comes to the cycle it needs to drain it would stop. Even if filled with water and I want it to drain using the drain mode, after 2 mins of nothing happening it may put the F11 error on. I checked the voltag…

Hi there, Reaching out to the forums as I've put alot of work into fixing my washine machine but it is still not working. I don't want to be beaten yet so perhaps someone can help? This machine was new in May 2011. Last year the door lock burnt out the connecting cables so I replaced the lock and cables sucessfully. Eariler this year it started not draining and flashing all lights. It turned out to be a very blocked sink u-bend and after a good clean things were good again. (lesson learned about keeping that clean! However in the last month or so it keeps stopping at the first drain (between the wash and rinse). All lights flashing and the drain light on. I've tried…

I bought a Miele W5740 in December 2011 from an approved Miele centre. At that time the machine qualified for a free 10 year parts and labour warranty which I duly registered. 2 Days ago as I went to remove clean clothes at the end of the cycle, a small section of the rubber door seal came away. Its probably only 1 or 1.5cm long, from the front outer section that goes up against the glass window. I have attached a photo showing the section that has broken and the whole it left behind in case that is useful. I rang Miele expecting this to be covered by their 10 year warranty but they said it is a maintenance issue not a mechanical issue and therefore I have to pay for…

Hi. Wondering if anyone knows what a washing machine error code means. Zanussi FX1265W. Error code is 3 flashes / beeps. The manual only lists 1, 2 and 4 flashes / beeps. I've Googled and searched here without any luck. I've done some basic tests / maintenance. i.e. The machine will run it's draining program without error. It will run it's spin program without error. I've drained the machine completely and cleaned the pump. I've checked that the water inlet is unblocked. I've checked that the waste is draining okay. If I try any wash program, then the machine will fill (as normal) but then drain straight away with the 3-beep error rather than spinning the drum…

Hello - I am in desperate need of help and would be most grateful if anyone could give me a solution to my problem. I have a Hoover WDYN855D machine. Today I had a load of laundry in and after it had finished I turned it off. I had another load to put in, but when I went to choose which cycle, the LCD display started to flash, illegibly. I tried turning it off and back on again, but no luck. I cannot choose a cycle so the machine is not able to work and also as the display flashes it makes a little click noise with each flash. Please can someone help? I won't be able to wait for an engineer for next week and can't call out a costly one in the meantime. Please help.

Hi there, My washing machine has a rattling/piercing noise when on very fast spins only. Normal spins with clothes are fine and there is no rattling when just turning the drum with nothing in (so I don't think its bearings?). It sounds like there is a metal object below the drum? It is a large metallic sound. Is here a way to easily check that. And also how would it have got there? Through the plastic seal near the door (it doesn't lookk big enough for a coin). I have tried moving the drum vertically and it moves less than a centimetre up and down (though obviously a fair amount backwards and forwards) Any help greatly appreciated. I've previously had to refit the se…

hey, ive been looking around for some help and advice, my washer recently stopped spinning (noticed when i went to check at end of cycle) cycle had not completed it had 'hung' at one point and the start/pause light was flashing, it wouldn't let me do ANYTHING until i had turned it off and back on again, where it only let me cancel the cycle. it doesn't spin on any setting, at any speed, though it makes the grinding sound like its trying to, im 'notsogoodatdiy' as my name implies, but have checked the drive belt which is fine, and had a look to make sure no wires have come loose etc, cleaned the filter bit and emergency pipe. i had a good look all around inside and couldn…

Hi. My washing machine wasnt draining properly so after investigation it had 50p stuck in the hose which I have now removed. When I put it all back together and tried to start a new wash it just spins slowly and the wash programme doesn't start. No water comes into the machine, it just spins slowly each way. I've put it on rinse and water comes in and that seems ok. Ive tried to jusy spin but again it just goes slowly each way. It's like it's stuck on one programme. I've tried everything I can think of. . Please help!
