Hi, thank you for reading this post and I appreciate any help. Machine WFR 2860 works normally, washes, drum turns fine on all cycles except the rinse or spin cycle where it will no longer spin up to a reasonable speed. Starts to spin and then just stops and finishes cycle. I don't get any error messages. I've tried more/less/nothing in the machine and it makes no difference. I am told this is the contol unit and will cost at least £250 to repair so I should buy another machine. I'd like to exhaust the options for fixing it first. Is the control unit the same as the pcb? Will the machine have multiple pcb's or control units? Is it possible for me to easily rem…

I have a Siemens XLM 1600 washing machine, about 5 years old but used sparingly. As the machine starts to spin there is a loud knocking noise from the left side of the machine, this disappears as the spin speed picks up. The technician who looked at the machine couldn't work out what it is, it isn't the bearings, but the noise can be recreasted by pushing the drum down towards the left (power off, of course). It might be the suspension leg but I open for suggestions.

Hi everyone. I have a Hotpoint first edition FEW12 I think the element needs replacing because there isn't any heat on hot washes. However, I have read that the cycle shouldn't complete if the element has gone. The machine does seem to wash normally, just not heating. So how do I know if it's the element? I don't have a multimeter. Could it be the thermostat?

Hi All, My Bosch maxx Classic is taking FOREVER to complete a wash which normally takes an hour and 12 min. It really does take about 3 hours. I read some where that there is an unbalance sensor that can add extra time to a wash cycle. I have tried a cycle with nothing in the machine and it still takes forever. Any ideas as the machine is only 2 years old. Thanks Mike

Hi, I have a Zanussi washing machine which is about 5-6 years old and it has stopped working. I am a student living alone and have very little disposable income so i have try and fix it myself! After searching through washing machine forums, i cannot find other faults which are identical to mine. Please could someone help me diagnose the problem? My washing machine is a Zanussi Jetsystem iz12 and the problem is as follows: When doing a normal wash cycle, everytime the drum does a full rotation it makes a knocking noise. When the drum spins faster, the noise gets louder and obviously more frequent due to the amount of rotations the drum is doing. With 20 minutes to g…

Hi I wonder if anyone can help, I changed the brushes on our washer the other day and it now works again however, it now produces an intermittent noise. It is not the drum as it can happen when the drum is still but it is like a ball bearing is inside the washer. I think it is coming from the motor as I say it happens when the drum is idle but the motor is spinning and it is not constant it can appear and disappear could I have displaced something in fitting the brushes? I am sure I put them in the right way round but the noise is definitely a worry.

I have a new LG machine and during a recent cycle I noticed that the machine started final spin whilst there was still water in the machine. I checked the drain filter which was full of water. I ran another (different) cycle and that went OK. However, when I checked the filter it was again full of clear water. The little drain hose had no water in it all. I could find no problem with the 'propeller' thing in the filter. Not sure whether I should call out LG engineer or if it's something I've done wrong. Can anyone advise?

Can anyone tell me how to access the PCB on a Beko WMA 510W machine? The fault is :- It started being unreliable at spinning on the main cycle, then it was unreliable at spinning on the rinse and drain cycle. Now it just takes in water, rotates for about 5 minutes, then stops, leaving me with dirty, soap slimed soaking washing! I think I need to change the PCB, but can't see how to access it.

Hi, the conditioner tray is not emptying any conditioner? I have cleaned it out, and now when I fill it with water under a tap it flows out through the pipe/hole thing. I have ran a full wash cycle with no conditioner in and the tray is empty after the wash? I would of thought it should fill with water and be left with water in after the wash? Many thanks in advance... Ian

Hi there, we have had our Siemens XL 1600 washing machine for 6 years. I have just opened the door after a wash and all the washing is dripping wet. Put it back on spin, but wouldn't spin. Have just tried doing another load, it sounds like it is starting up, but then nothing happens, it won't spin or do anything much. Is there something I can do to fix it? Any ideas what is wrong or is it beyond help? Would be very grateful for any replies. Thanks

Hi everybody, I recently moved into a new apartment and I am desperately looking for a solution to this problem: There is a LG GL5314TAD washer/dryer combo, working at 220 V. It has two water supply hoses and one drain hose. At the moment, only one supply hose is attached to the water supply faucet (the cold water supply hose), the drain hose is fitted to the drain. The warm water supply hose just hangs loose and dry. I am living in Iran and they told me that everything was ok! Unfortunately nothing is ok. It is not possible to run the programmes that need 40, 60, 95 grades C as well as the Eco programm. The programmes for silk, wool, delicates, rinse and spin…

Hi I have an LG intellowasher WM14225FD. It has developed a 'gritty' grinding and popping sound but at only certain times in the cycle. It works perfectly fine otherwise. The noise does not happen during initial fill, spins , pumping out or at other specific times during the washing cycle. I have checked the pump filter and it is empty. I was wondering if there might be some grit (I had been working with it for a oeriod and it might have got into my pockets!) caught in the heater element area and is being heated and 'jumping' about as is heated. When the wachine is spinning and pumping out there is no gritty noise at all so the pump seems to be fine or are there two pu…

Hi, I've got an Indesit washer dryer, model WIDL 126 which is lacking heat on its drying cycle. I'm pretty sure it's a build up of fluff in the air intake tub, I have removed everyting I can get from the top but there is still a good amount in there but I have no idea how to get to this. Can anyone enlighten me/give me a verbal walkthrough? Many thanks! -James
