bluemoon1502
Hi, I have a Zanussi washing machine which is about 5-6 years old and it has stopped working. I am a student living alone and have very little disposable income so i have try and fix it myself! After searching through washing machine forums, i cannot find other faults which are identical to mine. Please could someone help me diagnose the problem? My washing machine is a Zanussi Jetsystem iz12 and the problem is as follows: When doing a normal wash cycle, everytime the drum does a full rotation it makes a knocking noise. When the drum spins faster, the noise gets louder and obviously more frequent due to the amount of rotations the drum is doing. With 20 minutes to go, during the rinse cycle, the machine begins to beep and an E20 error comes up. I can get past this by pressing pause and skipping to the spin cycle. Although skipping the cycle does enables me to spin the washing, it is extremely noisy!! Also when i skip to the spin cycle, it seems as though the washing hasn't been rinsed properly and there are signs of washing powder on some of the clothes. If anyone can give me some advice on thisw then i can search for the problem online and attempt to fix it. Thank you in advance. Ryan
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted November 8, 2011 Root Admin Report Share Posted November 8, 2011 It sounds in a bad way, maybe the drum bearings are going? E20 on Zanussi washing machines implicates a pump problem, which if you are finding the laundry hasn't been rinsed properly could mean the water isn't being pumped out fast enough. If the pump wasn't working at all you wouldn't get a spin and would have washer full of water so it must be pumping out the water, just not all of it. Make sure the pump filter has been checked for obstructions.
