applehead
Hi everyone. I have a Hotpoint first edition FEW12 I think the element needs replacing because there isn't any heat on hot washes. However, I have read that the cycle shouldn't complete if the element has gone. The machine does seem to wash normally, just not heating. So how do I know if it's the element? I don't have a multimeter. Could it be the thermostat? Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted November 22, 2011 Root Admin Report Share Posted November 22, 2011 I don't know if you read it on my article washing machine not heating or not but I have advice there on this topic, which as you say indicates a washer with a faulty heating element should produce an error code and should not finish the wash programme. If it finishes the wash in normal time and laundry is clean there shouldn't be anything wrong with the heater but as my article points out, there are anomalies. Need a repair or spare parts?
