Hi all, I've looked through your site for various topics about replacing the bearings in my WML520P(UK)R. The bearings are currently only very slightly noisey and I'm mechanically fairly capable. The great spares site associated with this forum lists drums complete but not bearings, elsewhere it refers to changing bearings and spider for wm* machines excluding the WMA models. I would like to change bearings only, will be a case of removing spider and inspecting/measuring the surface the bearing runs on. Are there bearing kits (with or without spider) for this model? All advice greatfully received. Kbs

We have a Servis washing machine 6.5kg 1400 A+A. Recently, it's been failing to pump out the water. So i checked the usual things. Pump filter is clear, and the pump runs on an empty cycle. drainage pipe to sink is clear, as is sump from drum to pump filter. I've had to drain it manually a couple of times, but often it will drain if I put it on a different wash cycle and run it again it pumps out just fine. There doesn't appear to be any pattern to the failures either. I don't know a lot about washing machines, but I feel like it might be something electronic. Perhaps there is a load sensor that's stopping it from draining before the spin cycle. If it's likely to be ele…

I have the above machine and for the past few days the cycles on my machine are taking a lot longer than they should. Today the machine leaked from the drawer and beneath it. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just a quick question , My daughter bought a washing machine from Littlewoods ..... Swan 2020B Machine was running normally then all of a sudden , went into a fast spin (loud) , stopped & pause light flashed. Turned on/off mains now all it does constant red light . Iv'e stripped it down, Motor & Pump seem fine so i'm leaning towards a PCB . Im i right ? Or could it be something else ? Ive also took out the PCB so i could ID it etc .... and i got the Vestel Part No 32011928 (PRG 724002-00) (AKO 721985-07) Nothing spare parts wise for Vestel in UK but managed to find one in Italy http://bit.ly/1lyzb2u . It's a long way to come if i'm wrong with my diagnosis ,…

Hi all I have a problem with the above mentioned washer On power up (selecting a program) the door security LED remains statically lit - it should ordinarily flash until the start button is pressed - whereupon the interlock activates and the machine starts filling etc... I thought it could be the interlock - so I replaced that - but no change. On occasion in the past if you rotated the program dial - the door security LED would flash and it would start the program. Of late though nothing seems to get it to start. When it did start - it ran through the program fine with no errors. The different programs still display their relevant spin / temperature LEDs when selec…

Hello, The electric tripped when I switched the washing machine on. Sorted out the trip and set the machine off on its wash cycle but now the door won't open so I imagine the trip has affected the locking mechanism somehow. Have tried unplugging for 30 minutes but that did not help; have run another cycle to see if that helps but when the cycle ends it still won't open? Any ideas please as I need to get that washing out! Thanks in advance.

Hi Folks, My old Bosch 1400 Exxcel threw a wobbly over the weekend when it decanted its load of water on the floor (probably related to the severe juddering when it spins...currently under investigation) - so I nipped down to my local white goods store (AKA the local tip) and picked up a Bosch 1200 Exxcel Express for £20. Bit smelly, but a few service washes etc. should cure that - but otherwise functional. However, the motor chirped and crackled a fair bit so I decided to swap it out with a spare from a previous 1400 Bosch that I'd 're-brushed'. I've often wondered what the difference between the various spin-speed models was, and when I pulled the 1200 motor out and …

Hi all, I have just bought a Zanussi WDJ1667W second hand (washer dryer). When I first tried it yesterday, the washing programs seemed to stop just before the last spinning part. The start button would blink and the machine would not resume. However, when I tried draining, spinning and drying separately, all were a success. I left the problem for the night but today, the machine will not do anything. It will make a repetitive noise at the beginning of the cycle, then stop as before. When I ask for the last error code, it gives me the error 33 which seems to be an error due to the pressure system. Would anyone of you know how to fix this error? Thanks! Agathe

Hello, my first post. I have an issue with the above machine, it fails to drain water at the end of the cycle. I manually drained it using the hose at the front and found a hairclip that was caught in the trap (this was possibly stopping the drian motor from spinning). Tested another cycle but again it fails to drain. The pump is spinning (it's louder than normal) and I can see the impeller spinning if I remove the front hose drain cover. I can also confirm that the rear outlet hose is definitely not blocked. Is it most likely that the drain impeller pump motor has failed due to hair clip?? Is this a replaceable part and how much?? I would do it myself as I am an…

This is part 2 in the saga of the Beko WM74155LS which we had delivered on Friday. So we got it all connected, retaining bolts removed and put a half load in. Dial turned to quick wash, temperature and spin type selected and pushed the start/pause button... and pushed the start/pause button... and pushed the start/pause button... and turned the dial to another setting, pushed the start/pause button... turned the childlock on then off again and pressed the start/pause button... So I'm sure you get the idea that no matter what we do, the machine just will not start. As yesterday was a bank holiday in the UK, I rang Beko today. After going through all the usual pre-problem…

Hi, My Miele W5824 washing machine is saying "Technical fault" and beeping a lot. I had almost run out of washing machine soap, so I put a lot of water into the nearly-empty bottle of soap, put the lid on, shook the bottle, and then poured the water into the washing machine drawer. I did this twice, assuming that the water would just pour right on into the drum. However, when I started the wash, the error showed and the washing machine will not run now. I wondered if you might have any idea of what I should do? The book just says call an engineer, but I can't because it's Sunday. Thanks, Jsp

Hi Complete and utter DIY disaster guy here... After the washing machine stopped working mid cycle, then refusing to drain I: - turned it off - drained it through the manual drain pipe - pulled the latch to open the door and get the washing out The filter was stuck. So I got some plyers to unjam it and it turned so far before snapping the filter plug handle. In the process of doing this, it punctured the filter in the middle so it started leaking. I then got a screwdriver (I know I know, but I was a little bit enraged) and managed to break the plug from the middle and eventually get it out. The plug died a sad death, but the replacement part from bosch arrived tod…

Hi guys, I have an Indesit WIDXL126 displaying an error F13 (LEDs 1. 2 and 4 plus lock). Looking on t'interweb, I can see that is; Dryer fan does not work or fan jammed, Check dryer NTC (temperature sensor), Check dryer fan motor, Check wiring, Check electronic controller. I initially read the error code wrong and thought it was F07 - Heater Relay Stuck. So to try and fix that I did the following; I did the usual thing of tapping the relays on the PCB. This didn't work so I sourced a replacement PCB. Swapping that out didn't fix the problem either. I have checked all cables and connections, all seem OK to me. I double-checked all connections, all seem ok. I stripped an…

Hi folks, this machine is only a few months old and has developed a discomforting noise. When you turn the drum by hand you hear it instantly. I know there's normally a minor noise (is it the motor or drivebelt you can hear turning?) but this is excessive. When the machine is loaded up and turning you hear it constantly. Noise pitch is dependent on spin speed, although when spinning fast it is inaudible. Sounds to me it is coming from whatever makes the drum turn, so either the motor or the drivebelt. It's a whining/electronic sound. Funny thing is, the noise has subsided a lot since I ran it on a full cycle whilst making this noise. It seemed to wear down as the cycle …

Hi, my Beko washing machine is full of water and has stopped working. No lights are showing. My other half has changed the fuse on the hard wire and has checked the voltage going into it, and that's fine at 240. Any suggestions as to what could be causing the fault?! Thanks!

Hi all and many thanks for taking the time to read this.. I just wanted to pick your brains for advice about how to go about changing these.. Have a hotpoint 1600 spin machine which has given years of good service, and so am prepared to spend a little time and money repairing the old girl.. Essentially, the drum bearings have failed. Thing is, I replaced all of these a couple of months ago with a bearing and seal kit off e-bay. Now, research tells me that really, i should have replaced the spider and shaft as well, there was a little wear on it, but I knurled the worn diameter of the shaft to make the front bearing a snug fit again (the bearings were a good interference f…

Hi, I've just bought a new Hotpoint Experience WMEF742 washing machine. When I use the fast wash 60min setting the wash doesn't finish with a spin and so leaves me with soaking wet clothes. The countdown timer on this setting seems to loose track of where it is. Hotpoint say that I should call out an engineer, but I don't want some engineer ripping my washing machine out only to find that a replacement part does exactly the same thing because this is a design flaw in the controller. Has anyone else with this machine or it's predecessor the Aquarius had similar trouble with the 60min fast/quick wash setting?

Hello, I recently bought a new slim 7kg Candy front - loading washing machine with visual defects (it has scratches on one side). Besides the fact that the machine is very loud, ir works great and the clothes come out clean and fresh. But what cought my attention was the strange banging noise coming before the final spin. If I put my hand on the back panel I can feel the drum hitting. This happens only for ~ 30 seconds and during these seconds the drum rocks back and forth quite noticably (note that the machine itself does not bounce) and after that the final spin begins and the sound disappears. Is it possible that the hitting sound is due to the fact that machine tr…

I have had my hotpoint wt761 for about 8 years now and replaced the drum bearings for the first time about 3 years ago. From then I have had to replace them each year. I found on the last replacement that water was leaking passed the seal and corroding the bearings - causing them to fail. I have also replaced the spider. Is there anything else I can do to reduce the water leaking passed the seal, or is this just something I'm going to have to deal with? Thanks in advance.
