AgatheJ
Hi all, I have just bought a Zanussi WDJ1667W second hand (washer dryer). When I first tried it yesterday, the washing programs seemed to stop just before the last spinning part. The start button would blink and the machine would not resume. However, when I tried draining, spinning and drying separately, all were a success. I left the problem for the night but today, the machine will not do anything. It will make a repetitive noise at the beginning of the cycle, then stop as before. When I ask for the last error code, it gives me the error 33 which seems to be an error due to the pressure system. Would anyone of you know how to fix this error? Thanks! Agathe
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted March 18, 2014 Root Admin Report Share Posted March 18, 2014 Did you try pressing the start button when it blinked? Some programmes have a rinse hold where they stop full of water on the last rinse before spin until the user advances it on. This used to be called crease guard. Another thing that can cause it to stop before spinning after water is pumped away is a blockage in the pressure system causing the washer to think it still has water in and refusing to spin. There is a lot about pressure systems in these forums if you search for pressure system. Need a repair or spare parts? AgatheJ
Thanks for your answer! I tried pressing the start button when it was blinking but the washing machine would not do anything. Because of the error I got when entering error code mode, I tend to think that there is something strange with the pressure system as you suggest too. In the end, the machine magically worked for one washer and two drier sessions, I am not sure what parameters changed but it worked. I will still run a search on this when I have time to understand a bit better what is going on. Thanks again.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted March 24, 2014 Root Admin Report Share Posted March 24, 2014 I've just remembered I wrote an article about pressure system faults and one about how washing machines control water levels If you read these two articles you will get a better understanding of how it all works, which is most of the way to being able to diagnose faults.
