MichaelM
This is part 2 in the saga of the Beko WM74155LS which we had delivered on Friday. So we got it all connected, retaining bolts removed and put a half load in. Dial turned to quick wash, temperature and spin type selected and pushed the start/pause button... and pushed the start/pause button... and pushed the start/pause button... and turned the dial to another setting, pushed the start/pause button... turned the childlock on then off again and pressed the start/pause button... So I'm sure you get the idea that no matter what we do, the machine just will not start. As yesterday was a bank holiday in the UK, I rang Beko today. After going through all the usual pre-problem checks I explained what is, or rather isn't, happening. I was told that they normally tell customers with this problem to: Turn the machine off at the mains. Wait 2 hours While holding the start/pause button, turn mains power on again Do another (another?) half load wash That should be the problem sorted If that is the case, and I have to wait another hour abnd a quarter to find out, why isn't this mentioned in the instructions? There isn't even a whiff of what to do if your machine doesn't work. No mention even in the "Troubleshooting" section.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted March 18, 2014 Root Admin Report Share Posted March 18, 2014 If lights are on and power is clearly ok then the main cause of a washer not starting is the door not closed properly (or door lock faulty), or maybe even no water available to machine. If the latter though, it should work on a spin only programme! It's very rare for a washing machine to be faulty on delivery. Need a repair or spare parts? MichaelM
Thats what we thought as well. The water is connected ok. There was a little plastic bung in the inlet which had to be removed and which the manual didn't mention. The door is closed and it latches ok as well. The machine has started a few times after random button pushing but thats a rarity. Some people online are saying just to remove it from the mains for a few hours to reset the logic board, which would fit with what Beko have said, so we'll try that,

MichaelM
Well I waited a couple of hours then powered it back up and it worked first time. My wife went to do another wash a couple of minutes ago and its not working again. It has to be a fault with the machine.
Root Admin Whitegoodshelp (Andy) Posted March 19, 2014 Root Admin Report Share Posted March 19, 2014 You've taken all reasonable steps so it's a case of reporting it faulty. They'll most likely insist on sending an engineer, no one will accept something's faulty without an engineer checking it's not a user or installation fault first. Have you checked if it starts on a spin only programme? Need a repair or spare parts?
