Hi there I have a whirlpool wwdc 9440 that’s about 4 years old and keeps displaying error message f:08 after every wash. I understand this can be linked to heating element so tested old element and confirmed open circuit. Ordered new element like for like. Tested new element around 30 ohms- All good, fitted but still same fault occurring. Decided to check temp probe. Measured around 9k ohms and goes up and down when put in hot or cold water so believe this is working. Only thing left I can think of is control unit. But what is strange is I definitely failed the old heating element so unless two things have gone wrong? What do you think? Thank you for your time.

Hi there, I have the above washer/dryer that has recently packed up after showing some Power failure (PF) warnings. The washing machine died and I removed the main board and found a blow transistor, so I have fitted a new Main PCB and now a Relay on the PCB just clicks constnatlly. Any ideas on what might need doing next? could the controller board affect it? I have had a good search on the forums, and not had much luck finding an answer. Thanks for your help!

Hi. We have a problem with our Bosch Washer / Dryer which keeps tripping and not drying. I reset the thermostat, but it does it again after a couple of washes. In the link below, someone had the same problem back in 2017, but he cleaned the Fan out of fluff. I would like to try the same, but it doesn't give a step by step guide, nor shows any pictures of what to take apart. Can anyone help?

Please can you help me? I have a Hotpoint washing machine, model: WML520 'Aquarius'. When I turn it on I get flashing lights. Specifically, the 'SuperWash', 'ExtraRinse', MiniLoad', 'ReducedCreases' & 'StartlPause' lights flash, and the 'Spin' and 'PumpOut' indicators are continuously lit. I am sure this must be a service-code for something. Do you know what it is?

Hello, I've got a huge problem with my washer dryer. Here's what's happening: several months ago i noticed that at the end of a wash cycle time was running slowly - now i know it was due to slow draining. Eventually the f05 error came up once every few weeks, but now it's on every time and i can't finish any wash cycle. It gets on between 'wash' and 'rinse' so it's during the first drain. I have checked the filter and the pump (with the ball in), both perfectly clean. I have blown into the outlet hose and it's fine too. I have replaced the motor of the pump with a new one and it's still the same. I can always hear the pump working but the water is not being removed from…

Hi, I wanted to clean the pump filter, however when I unscrewed the lock, it did not open the hole and there was some other part still in the way. Please look at the image cause it's hard to explain: How do I remove this white part inside? And moreover why is there no pipe for draining the water on the left of it even though there is clearly a place for it? My washing machine is Bosch Maxx 5. Thanks

Hi my Indesit washing machine won’t work on the separate extra spin cycle. The minutes show but the machine just slowly moves but doesn’t go into full spin mode. I’ve cleaned the filter

hi, i have a logik L814wm16 washing machine displaying error code e21 (drain pump error), I have cleaned the filter, removed and cleaned the pump, removed and cleaned the sump hose, removed and cleaned the pressure bottle and hose but the problem persists - the pump is definitely working - its spinning. I know that there's no water in the machine and yet it's stilling trying to pump out. I have replaced the water sensor switch. Is there likely to be a drain sensor anywhere? When the pump isn't connected I get error e12 (overfill error). I'm about to give up and buy a new one....but... thanks for any guidance. jack

Hi there, I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WF321. On spin it is very loud, a rattling noise as if a piece of metal is stuck inside. When the drum is rotated manually by hand it sounds relatively smooth, no harsh grinding, more like fine sandpaper being pushed on wooden surface. The machine is 11 years old. In Curry’s, they suggested the brushes gone. But, the bearing may also be on the way out? Any more opinions are welcome. Wondering if I should replace machine or go for brushes replacement. thanks, David

A lot of people seem concerned that their washing machine doesn't look like it has enough water in the drum during wash. Many people will be used to hold the washing machines where you could always see water inside the drum, especially on the rinses. I've just written an article on this very subject looking at how much water a washing machine should take in and whether or not you should see water inside the drum when it's washing - Is my washing machine taking in enough water?

Hey everyone! I'm unsure if this problem is listed already on one of the topics, but i could not find anything exactly like our problems with our Bosch Washing Machine. As per moment, the machine works, it washes, drains, spins, even dries, but it's not able to finish a Programme. Let's say i want a Mixed Load to get done. It says it is gonna take a 50 min cycle. So it washes, but as soon as it's done with that, and it should start the Rinse, it stops. When this happens we have to turn off the machine, because it doesn't let us push any buttons, turn it to Rinse. Rinse starts, but as it finishes, and should start Spinning, it stops. Turn off, turn on Spin, it …

The drive belt in my Hotpoint “WMBF-944 washing machine disintegrated while operating. The flailing bits of belt broke all of the wires going to the heater element. While attempting to repair the broken wires I noted there seemed to be an unused earth spade on the (3-phase induction) motor casing. The wiring loom has only a single green-yellow earth wire and this is connected to the earth terminal of the heater element. There is NO other earth wire in the loom or anywhere else for attaching to the motor casing earth spade. However, the wiring loom contains two brown wires – one of which is attached to the heater element. The second brown wire was broken and has a fem…

hi, i have a logik washing machine displaying error code e21, i have cleaned the filter, removed and cleaned the pump, removed and cleaned the sump hose but the problem persists - the pump is definitely working. i feel like it could be a sensor problem as i know that there's not water in the machine and yet it's stilling trying to pump out? i have taken out the water level switch and blown down the hose which doesn't seem to be blocked and i blew in to the sensor and could hear it clicking so i assume that would indicate its not at fault? is there likely to be a drain sensor anywhere? could this type of problem be caused by a blocked pressure bott…

Hi , on a spin at the end of wash the washing machine sounded louder than usual and gave off a slight smell of burning. Upon investigation it appears 1 of the carbon brushes has melted slightly the plastic surround. The brush has plenty of life left in it (length) so unsure why it has generated so much heat and melted some of the housing. I have checked the part of the motor it connects to and no obvious issues / reasons why it should have happened? Is it worth replacing the brushes or will the same happen again? please note the unit is only about 1 year old but had stood unused for around 8 month then this occurred on the 2nd cycle following the gap in use . Yo…

Hi, it’s great to find this forum and I hope someone can help me out. I got myself a Candy Alise washer/dryer about 6 months ago and I was surprised to find there was no air extraction pipe for the dryer function. Initially all seemed good but I soon found a buildup of fluff around the door seal. I’ve cleaned it off several times but each time it comes back quicker than before. Now I’m finding my newly washed/dried loads are coming out of the machine covered in fluff. I’ve read the instructions several times and there is no mention of filters or any requirement to check other things. I’m very surprised there is no filter, although there seems to be an…

Hi, I have checked the COMMON FAULTS document and don't find my fault there. I've had my Zanussi WDJ1294 for a long time. For a while it would sometimes not start a program when I clicked to the start point, but if i just went around the dial to the same point again, it would start - the click, then the water would start flowing in. But now it doesn't, no matter how many times I go around. The red light is on, but no click on any program. The child lock is not on. Any ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Chris

I purchased a Hotpoint HV7L1451p front loader in 2017 as a replacement on my insurance for a previous Hotpoint. It has been making loud noises during wash and spin cycles and stopped spinning. Upon inspection. The belt detached (now attached) and there was a lot of brown deposits of rust on the drum, back detachable panel and the floor under the machine. If this is the bearings. Is it worth repairing? I dont know if its a sealed drum or not. I move the drum by hand and it makes a knocking noise and does not feel steady in motion. There was white spiral chippings after the last wash. Possibly due to friction from the drum? Advice please. I appreciate it.

6 year old washing machine started to trip circuit breaker when i turn it on (this happens immediately when i move switch form off position) I checked wall plug, cable, mains filter everything was fine. Eventually i found that if pressure switch is disconnected washing machine works. So if i disconnect pressure switch machine will turn on and work (it will have problems, for example not know when to stop pumping out water) So is this part at fault, how could it cause washing machine to trip breaker?

Hi, I started to use my new machine (Beko WTG620M1W 6kg 1200rpm Freestanding Washing Machine) only to discover it has very poor stability. Even after adjusting its feet to make it perfectly level, it still moves around. Not only that, during spin-drying it sort of jumps from its left feet to its right feet, making a tremendous noise and making itself really go through a rough time. It's literally violent and almost scary to watch from closeby. It also hits the cupboard nearby. In other words, it's a disaster. Any idea how to keep such machine still? (and, is it me or this is bad design?)

Hi folks, I have read through this site so I apologise if this is answered somewhere and I have missed it. I have a Hoover DYN7164D1X. I am used to seeing error codes and my problem is not an error code issue. Instead of showing the selected programme/ temp/ etc, my display flashes a seemingly random (but consistent) set of lights, and two option buttons illuminate as well. I have slam door reset and this sometimes results in the normal display alternating with the random one. In the few seconds the normal data is displayed you can hear the machine trying to work (solenoid fill click) but then it stops when the random display shows. From what I have…

Good evening not sure if this is the right place for this, but I would really appreciate some help. The house we moved into had an integrated CDA washing machine that stopped working after a fuse shorted. After being stood up by a couple of local engineers, we decided to go with British Gas and an engineer came round and told us the issue was the PCB. That was over 3 weeks ago and since then they've cancelled two appointments at the last minute and not turned up to a third after my partner had taken the day off work to meet them. Their excuse is that they've ordered the part but it isn't in stock. We've looked the part up on espares etc and it says its been…

Hi I need help, I have a Hotpoint WMXTF842 washing machine which is about 4 months out of warranty. It clicks when spinning slowly then goes quiet on full spin. The noise can be re-created by rocking the drum laterally. I replaced the shocks with no cure. It only has 2 shocks and 2 springs. I have had Hotpoint machines for over 25 years and never encountered this. Any ideas anyone?

hi, I've got a CANDY GRAND O'VITA (GVS 128D3-80), its the smart touch one that isn't so smart, its 18 months old and now the start/stop button isn't working, its the button that is touch sensitive. The others are working along that strip but not this, which is annoying as I can't turn it on. I've taken the front off and the button is connected to a strip tape board, its not the main pcb, just a strip of tape with wires that then plug into the left of the pcb. Is there a simple fix for this? is it a common fault? I spoke to candy but they were about as much use as a chocolate tea pot and want me to remortgage my house to get them out. I did try and get around it by using t…
